This breaks my heart seeing all this recycled material being thrown in a trash truck and hauled to the landfill. I've been a junk man for many years seeing all this scrap oh wow heartbreaking
@Bill Baum It's disgusting is what it is. I just don't understand the stupidity of not recycling or donating those appliances to the less fortunate. makes you wonder what else they just be dumping
@Bill Baum - I totally agree with you, Bill. Where I am, the local council encourages you to take bulky waste which is recyclable to the recycling centre or, if it is too big to go in a car, they will bring a specially-built truck to you, for a small fee, and take it away to be recycled. Alternatively, we have a local family-owned scrapyard which will collect household appliances, like cookers and washing machines, from your home, free of charge. If you can take it to their yard, they'll pay you the scrap value on the metals. The footage in this video shows sheer laziness on the part of the local council, something the local residents will be damning them for in years to come when the heavy metals in the printed circuit boards leach into the soil and contaminate the water table.
The "less fortunate" can't be arsed to pick up even free stuff. Go ahead, try and give away a couch that's still good. They will expect you to deliver it, despite it being free.
Great bit of kit that eats everything, glad they don't get indigestion. Just like to see it being unloaded back at the yard, does it all come out in one dirty great lump?

I don’t even have the courtesy to move the cars on trash day at all one side I guess I don’t have the option but the United States we have to some places you have to park the car on the other side of the street when it’s trash day or street cleaning
Does that compactor not have any extra loading height to it? Seems like with bulky waste it would have a higher load height. Also how much does that truck hold? It seems to hold an extremely impressive amount.
In Ireland, we bring wood, dishwashers, dryers, wood to the recycling centre where you can drop them off. The metal is recycled and is not dumped in Landfill. Commercial cardboard and Paint is also recycled and re-used.
Your advertisement on the side of truck says go and kick to the curb will clean up so they’re not even suggesting to resell these things or recycle recycle or anything oh my goodness we all need to start recycling everywhere
I love recycling. However, I don’t recycle all cardboard. The common reasons include dirty, too big for cart, or other small objects that can fit that would be too sharp too handle trot bulky waste. In other words, use it as a container.
No it is not illegal. There lots of scrappers in australia. This is not every week in the same street. They have districts that rotate their bulk trash. I have a lot of aussie videos
The garbage will certainly be driven to a landfill without sorting, worrying about all the raw materials that could still be used, so Australia should definitely improve and sort the garbage to recycle it or to burn it to generate electricity.
Great video. But why is most of this stuff not recycled over there our of interest?? So much wood, paper, plastic and specifically metal being thrown away here! Do you not have facilities to recycle that stuff over there??
@@aussiejohn5835 That's great if it's true for over there. From what I've seen anything mixed with general waste goes to an incinerator or landfill stations though unfortunately.
@@mjhmotorsport These bulk waste collections do get sorted at the waste management centres and the normal garbage collection goes to landfill. The recycling collection goes to a processing centre where the recycling is sorted and processed. There are not many incinerators as these are seen to be environmentally unfriendly to nearby residents who argue the incinerators are a health hazard. I must say that every state and territory has its own policy regarding waste management.

Look at that nice bed 🛏️ matches. That could been given away to somebody that don't have a bed 🛏️ to 😴 on at night 😂😂😂😂
Your advertisement on the side of truck says go and kick to the curb will clean up so they’re not even suggesting to resell these things or recycle recycle or anything oh my goodness we all need to start recycling everywhere
Wow and everything goes to the landfill? Here in The Netherlands we recycle.
I love recycling. However, I don’t recycle all cardboard. The common reasons include dirty, too big for cart, or other small objects that can fit that would be too sharp too handle trot bulky waste. In other words, use it as a container.
you can compact it to make it fit to the bin
How many times a day do you have to dump your load
Gosh, I’d be tired after a day of that! Lol. Tough job guys. Watching from Ontario Canada 😊
is it illegal to go pick up and scrap stuff there coz i see loads
No it is not illegal. There lots of scrappers in australia. This is not every week in the same street. They have districts that rotate their bulk trash. I have a lot of aussie videos
awesome video what a huge mess to clean up
Die schlafen bestimmt gut,men at Work
Shame on you Australia for your non recycling, in England we would be fined for leaving this amount of recyclable materials. Again shame on you.
I think it’s because there on bulky
Mm yvvvbbbbbv já BB bj
No problem, we make up for it in norway......
PRIMERA VEZ QUE VEO ESTOS VIDEOS SE ME ROMPE EL CORAZÓN 🤦❤️🩹
Shame, shame.😟😟😠😧😧
Are this trasch sorted then?
The garbage will certainly be driven to a landfill without sorting, worrying about all the raw materials that could still be used, so Australia should definitely improve and sort the garbage to recycle it or to burn it to generate electricity.
@@JP-hi8jl in europe its imposible. Its so sad
Some of the materials actually get sorted sometimes, used for selling
its awesome how the truck eats up anything you feed it. Good job to the guys its a thankless job.
asi ee
Very hard work but not easy enough 😢❤❤❤❤❤❤much love
Great video. But why is most of this stuff not recycled over there our of interest?? So much wood, paper, plastic and specifically metal being thrown away here! Do you not have facilities to recycle that stuff over there??
This load will be dumped and then sorted at the waste management facility.
That better then scrappers releasing that freon in air
Volta logo meus Deus 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
How stuff can that trunk hold?
How come there not smiling 😊! It looks like fun 🎂🍰🎉🎊
8:52 beautiful clothes and shoes! Would've done anything to find them instead!

Man.. heaps of good and expensive stuff Pacific Islanders in the Islands can only dream of owning, anyway we can only watch in surprise at how wasteful and unappreciative people can get.
This is disgusting to watch all that good usable stuff get crushed up. A lady even called me disgusting for taking things she was throwing away.
Costuras amano
You two men tackled the jobs good I liked those pants the black man wearing good job done my friends
Great Vid. Big guy looks like a buddy of mine
I noticed in a lot of your videos that you do grab appliances and things of metal. My question is where do y'all take that metal at when you dump it off. Is there like a special place in the landfill for scrap metal
I may hope they pick it out with magnets for recycling. Metals are so easy to recycle, would be a shame if it ends up in landfill.
You could furnish several homes with all them items.
Yep yep with soiled couches that’s very nice of you 😐
