Sounds like some people hate change... People wanted the next Resident Evil to be scary, and to focus on survival. As soon as that's given to them, they bitch and whine because it's in first person, and in certain sections it focuses on stealth...

I honestly loved RE since 1-4, liked 5&6 and love the Revelations Saga... but they can't just show this shit like this, we need an actual trailer that shows the real game not just some pre-alpha shit.

you're a bit mistaken. People wanted a horror game which isn't like Slender or Outlast where you jsut run away from enemies. What made the old resis so great is that you had limited ammo and always had too lok for more and health items.
It sucks that some devs think that if you can fight the monsters, the game isn't creepy but perhaps this is just the intro sequence and you get some guns later

I'd say it's more like the fans being fickle. During the early 2000's, everyone was complaining that RE was getting stale and that it needed some change. Then after RE4 came out people hated the action-oriented approach the series was taken and wanted it to return to its roots. And when Capcom FINALLY does that, people accuse them of pandering to guys who play Amnesia or FNaF.
This is why game companies should be wary when listening to fan feedback.

Well technically, Claire Redfield said she practiced with her brother to learn how to fight and become skilled with firearms, while some of the Outbreak characters included a cop, security guard, and former criminal turned plumber.

Why can't it simply be something like the original 3 with modern graphics, controls and third person view? No Gears of War, no Outlast, just Resident Evil like it used to be. Because quite frankly this looks like pure shit. It's going from one shitty end of a spectrum to another.

You haters do know that the first Resident Evil was originally conceived as a fully 3D first-person horror game, right? It only became what it was after Shinji Mikami got a look at Alone in the Dark, and basically decided that fixed camera angles and 2D pre-rendered backgrounds were the way to go because of the hardware limitations of the original PlayStation. I love the classic games. I would like the series to return to the third person perspective eventually, but I'm willing to give this game a shot, because it actually IS a return to the series' roots, whether we like it or not. And we already know there will be combat, so I don't know why some of you are crying about it being like Outlast. Read up on this shit, guys!

It is not a return to the series, this is a path to the actual "horror for youtubers" games. Resident Evil never was about hiding, it was about face the fear even if you knew you can be killed. It was about doing something or die in that try.

Angga Septian well thank you for that compliment, but why do you have to call me honey? lol It comes off as a bit of condescending in that type of way, however i'd like to explain that i think that i can call myself a real fan eventhough i am angry, upset and disappointed, because i think as a fan you are allowed to feel that way when you've been loving a franchise for what it used to be and can't comprehend drastic changes like that.
I don't think that whining or being a "crybaby" got anything to do with being a fan or not, because that person who just complained, about the fans or the people who aren't satisfied with that new gameplay him complaining could be considered as whining as well, as he feels bothered by the amount of people who aren't agreeing with his opinion on the game.
So in all honesty we could go back and forth, back and forth the whole time about who is crying or not, at the end of the day you can't judge when someone is disappointed about the changes made, when they've been following somthing very religiously. I peronally think it is a absolute disappointment and that's not because i'm nostalgic, i just think that certain games can't be made into something i would say the younger generation thinks is in trend, because we all know trends change so why bother making an older franchise into a trend when in a couple years it's not even relevant..

not only herbs but different ammo types, chemicals, flame cans, some type of pills, gun powder for mixing, and other things to look forward to.

I mean it's a first person survival horror game. It feels nothing like P.t. That was all psychological, this is vary much in the amnesia/outlasr realm though and I am grateful for that. RE6 was fun but it was heavily flawed and it really felt like they couldn't take the series much further in that direction.

The new generation don't want those kind of games anymore and a company has to keep growing. The developers have already stated no old characters because they want someone vulnerable and they believe all the established characters are too hero like. I think RE4 camera controls could have worked but they want their player to feel immersed. I played Resi 7 back in December from Capcoms head office and trust me when I say, the game wont disappoint and you are just missing out if you skip this one. A true fan wont. :)
I hope people understand that to create a survival horror experience in this day and age, with people's attention spans being small and them being desensitized to the horror genre (in film, tv, games, etc.) this is the way developers must adapt to the new age of horror. We've seen it done in so many other games in the first person perspective but for a horror game to thrive now days, it needs to put you in the drivers seat, literally. The fixed angle perspectives and generic zombies we've seen are great and speak to the roots of Resident Evil but to revive that horror, the series needed a change, and I believe this is the perfect direction for that change.
I was like a lot of people... as I sat in the Sony E3 2016 Presentation and saw this teased, I was mad... but I realized that the times aren't what they were and companies have two options... to adapt to what's popular and what will grab attention, or sink while trying to constantly follow the nostalgia...
Which btw, if you don't like how this RE is looking.... there's always the remasters of the old...

Yes, sort of. Except that they will be bringing weapons and combat into the game. And as much as I liked PT, I hate when Silent Hills is used as that game's designation. PT was nothing more than a tech demo, and Silent Hills was purportedl set in 3rd person, just like the rest of the SH games.
It has everything in common with the saga... The story literally takes place a year or so after resident evil 6....

I think people just want something in the middle. This looks essentially like a walking simulator, though I understand the game hasn't been released. With what little bits of gameplay we've seen, it looks a lot like a walking sim where you have to hide when an enemy is near.
They shouldn't need to go to extremes; too much action vs. no action... Why not have some action and a some horror?

lol not sure what you mean by "people should feel bad" but I totally LOVED this game. It was the perfect in-between, action and horror. Serious problem though; the game's short AF. I blew through it in about 8 1/2 hours. Not really tempted to play a second playthrough but I will just to attempt to justify the $60 price tag.

It is trying something new. You're not going to play as a super solider like Leon, or Chris, you're an average person, thrown into a horrifying situation, it's a HORROR game, not an ACTION HORROR game, it's not RE 1-3, it's RE 7, a different game, being different. So please, give it a chance. Just because it isn't like RE 4 does NOT mean it will be a bad game. Also, there will be combat, so it's not only hiding and running.
Sherry and Ashley sections in Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 didn't feel like a Resident Evil game either.

The games always had focus on fighting and combat even if its just shooting a few zombies in a hallway it was still combat. Capcom hasnt showed any of that so far and have only made this to look like an outlast clone, people keep calling it that because its true. It looks like a straight up clone of just about every modern FPS horror game out there. I wouldnt care as long as they didnt attach a well known IP just to get more attention and money

re1-3 were full of action only with shitty camera, shitty level design

If they reveal the location this takes place, it'll definitely give us a better understanding of what's going on and who might be involved. all I can say is... as a fan of RE evil since day one...being super upset when 4 came out but them immediately changing my mind on that decision, and haven't played since 5 I'm kind of excited to see what they bring. I'm not gonna lie the demo had me a little tense.

I would HIGHLY recommend buying The Evil Within regardless, it's an awesome survival horror game! Bethesda recently basically said they were making Evil Within 2, I cant wait!

If there is hiding in the game, then it's clearly very basic because the ai wasn't running after the player despite being in full view; and there was no hiding under beds or in closets. I wouldn't be surprised if you had to hide at certain points though. I actually hope that there is something stalking you through the mansion like nemesis of sorts. Where you can fight and exhaust your supplies or hide temporarily to evade him. Survival horror is about surviving afterall. Not shooty shooty bang bang all the fucking time.

Difference between RE6 and 7? 6 had proper gameplay and gave you options in how to play. Leon - Zombie Survival, Chris - GoWish action and Jake - A mix of the two. Six was a great game with a good cheesy resident evil story.

First of all.
Zombies, there are zombies. The Farmer Couple seems to be the main villains of the game, they're just intelligent zombies. There will definitely be more monsters, since you will get weapons in the game, and I don't think it'd be fun getting a weapon and than killing the only two monsters. It's obvious that they're saving showing off the monsters, or they're not going to show them off at all, until the game is released, so that they're more of a surprise, and frighten you more.
On the topic of the Original Characters, Like Leon, and Chris.
Capcom said this is going to be more of a horror game, than an action game, horror makes you feel powerless, while Leon and Chris are super buff, military, soldiers. RE 7 wants to be something diffrent.
It's going to take place a couple of years after RE 6, so the Original Characters will probably be referenced at some point in time.
Just remember, this is a survival horror game, not really a shooter game. It is Resident Evil Seven, it is canon, it will tie in with the story, it will have monsters, it will have weapons.
Hope this clears all of your questions up.

For me, it's because it looks incredibly uninspired. The AI seems overly blind, with nothing to excuse it (like a hood to narrow the viewpoint or similar), everything looks scripted to a degree that would likely annoy me and the final popup-"scare" just makes me sad - like a "horror" version of peak-a-boo ("See? There's suddenly something right in your face! Isn't that scaaaaary?". That the game also looks like a Texas Chainsaw Massacre rip-off doesn't help either.

People give too much credit to Outlast for influencing things like this. Amnesia: The Dark Descent is the indie title that truly influenced the influx of first-person survival horrors for the past several years. Heck, Outlast itself probably wouldn't exist were it not for Amnesia.

I don't know if this is appropriate... but I really would like to give a few feedbacks and advices about our RE game series. More specifically, it's about the character design. I began to play this game just a few weeks ago, while my roommate, an old faithful fan of Resident Evil, has been crazy about it for many years, but not anymore now.
That's an evening two years ago or 3 years ago, I can't remember now. I went back home from work, and saw her crying on the floor. I was surprised and asked why. She said she couldn't believe that they changed the character of her hero, she was disappointed and she swore that she would never buy any product again. I was like "WTF" and couldn't understand why. For me, it makes no sense to be so angry for a small change in a video game, and I thought that she must be mad or something. But now I kind of know her feeling.
Basically, I have been playing RE5 and 6 these days. I have to admit that these were one of the best games that I have ever played. The greatest thing is not the game itself, it's the great characters, and the touching story that caught my breath and touched me. I still remember that the last scene of Piers made me cry so badly. But when it comes to RE7, things became a little bit weird. When I saw Chris Redfield in RE7, I was totally shocked. "Wait, who is this guy? This is definitely not Chris." I was totally confused. In RE5 and 6, my heart beats with Chris and I feel that my soul gets into the screen and we are facing the enemies and go through the touching story together. But now all the feeling suddenly just disappeared. I can't get the feeling back, all it left to me is confusion.
A common mistake that many designers of movies or games is that, they frequently change the appearance of the characters. They always want to create or try "New" things. For me, it's good to create new characters, but it's a really dangerous move to change those old characters in previous games, especially those successful characters like Chris. The viewers will lose their connection with these characters and basically all the efforts the company made before to make this character successful are just gone in a blink of an eye.
In addition, another thing that many people argued is that they believe that the appearance of Chris is too "muscular" and not real. Well this is not true. "Realness" isn't always good. For a company, the number one goal is profit, or, in other word, popularity. Then you must give the audience something they fancy in their dream. While playing a video game, people always put themselves into the game. Boys will feel like they are Chris himself. Girls will imagine that Chris is their partner. So it is a very smart move to maintain such a character who is handsome, unbelievably strong and never die through all the series. Because it meets people's fancy. It's kind of like Porn. People always say that the porn is not real sex. But the truth is that billions of people still spent hours and hours in those "fake" things every night. People will never see something in real life. For a game developer, it's good to give them a fake but sweet dream.

This VHS found footage segment is only a small segment from the main game revealing a bit about the story and the infected Baker family 's Marguerite. One of the VIPs I assume. This I assume is only one segment where you have to hide but in the real world, you (Ethan?) will have weapons to protect yourself from zombies and the bakers.

Woah Woah Woah guys. I am excited about this game and have been a fan of the RE franchise since RE2 was released. I didn't like the Michael Bay action shit it became and have always wanted a return to its roots, but the demo and this video is making me worried it's gonna be another copy paste of amnesia/outlast. I'm still gonna buy it and play it, but this along with the demo looks way too much like a hide and seek game.

Honestly do we really need more games like P.T , outlast, Amnesia, Alien Isolation, Slender man and More of that type of Horror games. And i know people loved P.T but its not that different from the games i just listed other than the scares. I bet the majority of people just want a mixture between Re4 and Re5 (But more Re4) and you can walk and shoot at the same time.
The fans asked to return to RE's horror roots. This would ideally mean RE 1-3. To many, 4 is a masterpiece, but it was when the game began its action based genre. No, we don't want another stealth game. I approve of the first person change, but where are the monster?! Where are the guns and ammo? This is going to be a train wreck. This is not back to the roots of RE; this is borrowing from the success of everyone BUT RE. I hope the developers throw us a curveball soon. As this is beginning to upset me, along with the Final Fantasy delay. My favorite titles aren't doing so well.

Well its not the survival horror game that a lot mainly complained about, when really there are like two different types of Resident Evil games, survival horror Resi and Action Resi in my books. So as an action Resi game I like it.

Although I would prefer RE to stay third person, I thought what made really a Resident Evil game a "Resident Evil" game was the ZOMBIES, ability to fight back and resource management. Basically always having flight or fight at the back of your mind while your playing. If I wanted to play a hide and seek horror game theres Outlast...I've been craving a third person over the shoulder slow paced survival horror, I'm tired of these first person hide and seek ones...
oh and puzzles, but I'm assuming RE7 would have plenty of puzzles.

Well 4 is more successful than all the old ones combined, so not calling that a real RE game is really really wrong. 5 and 6 might not feel like RE, but 4 was excellent and had some horror in it. Also, i think the direction this is taking is fine, i dont mind first person horror, as long as i get some weapons and puzzle solving too. Because i dont like it when its just run away and hide like a little girl, that is Hide and seek horror, not survival horror.

That's the sad reality of the situation. RE Revelations 2 was the best game they're made since RE4 and one of my favorites in the series, but it probably sold like shit.

RE1, RE2, RE3, code veronica, REmake and RE0 were all survival horror games with a focus on limited weapons, healing supplies, ammo, saving items and a restrictive inventory system so it definitely had the survival part for the classics. But i know what you mean, like a different type of survival e.g the older ones you had limited defence in 3rd person well constructed atmosphere where re7 looks to be a first person defenceless game where the survival comes from running away rather than having a choice and the horror to come from jump scares and paranormal-looking events. But all in all it's still to early to either rush to this game's defence or condemn it as awful. I do agree this might have got better reception as a stand alone series or RE spin off title rather than a mainline RE.

Si lo analizas bien, lo único que tenía el Resident Evil 4, 5 y 6 que si tenían los primeros era el hecho que podías disparar.
Si bien, entiendo tu punto, me gusta ver que el nuevo Resident Evil vuelva a sus raíces de causar miedo y que se centre en el desarrollo de puzzles básicos y sencillos. Me asusta el hecho que se transforme solo en ser una copia Outlast o Amnesia con enemigos imposible de matar y que se basa solo en ver, esconderse y repetir el proceso una y otra vez.
Si dan más libertades como opciones de combates limitadas (seamos honesto, si pudiésemos ir con una escope de combate automáticos con lanzallamas, no daría ni la mitad de miedo).
Además, los zombies en el mundo de los videojuegos está tan saturado que prácticamente todos son un "Resident Evil" o un "House of the Death"
