You both hit it. U2 has always been a conscious band, that was more than just a rock song, dance song or love song. Many songs are overtly political like Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Year's Day, Bullet The Blue Sky, Please. Many of their songs are more centered around a social consciousness (with some politics) like One, Pride, Walk On, while others are more about the human condition, masked as a love song song like With Or Without You, Love Is Blindness, Every Breaking Wave and many more. When they talk about human experience, it usually goes beyond just an individual experience or specific event, it usually takes on a universal outlook beyond self. Also, this journey often takes place WITHIN a song, where it starts out on a personal level, but expands outward as the song progresses - With or Without You and One are the most obvious examples, "You" and "I" shifts to "we" on a grander level.
Can't say enough about U2. Had the privilege of seeing them in concert 5 times. They got huge around the time I was a teen and just started getting into music. They are a socially conscious band and do get political sometimes and I almost always agree with their beliefs. I'll always stand with a band that stands for good.
From a time when U2 were heavily influenced by African/American RnB and gospel loved that period in their catalog and they are a band that every few years likes to completely reinvent themselves and go down a new musical route which is why they are special and have been successful for such a long time.
🙋🏻♀️. Hey there, seen U2 3 -4 times…. From when they first hit America ❤️🇺🇸💙, Love their movie 🍿 RATTLE AND HUM…. Be awesome if you react to that movie.😍💯

"Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "Where The Streets Have No Name" are two of their most political and best songs. I love U2!

Bono once described their music as the politics of the soul

U2 started post punk, protest music, then expanded from there," surrender" is a deep cut
Great track

Gotta try Pride (In the Name of Love) if you haven’t done it yet!!!
Its like King Solomon and the book of Ecclesiastes and realizing all the things of the world and what they do to the soul.

Is that the Bo Diddley shuffle? Interesting. Nothing like the U2 songs I've heard.
Exactly right. They were really interested in older Americana type stuff at the time. They even went to Sun Records in Memphis to record.
Same time and album as the song they did with BB King.
Nice shirt Asia

Hi was y'all going to react too Ferlin Husky Wings of a Dove? It's an old live black and white video version from the Grand Ole Oprey.
Should check out babymetal - gimme chocolate is their most popular song on RUclips. You guys will be shocked lol
See if you can react to the Rattle and Hum movie?
Hollywood mix
back then he had a not human voice, unbelievable, the song in general is an attempt to pay homage to the blues music but it's not very creative
