Hello once again everyone, update 0.9.3 is almost upon us and with it comes the full release of the Pan European line of Swedish destroyers. The line from the Tier 5 Visby up to the tier 9 Östergötland have been in early access the last few weeks and have proved to be an interesting addition to the game with some very fast ships with extremely fast torpedos combined with decent AA defence. I hope you all enjoy this video on the tier 5 Visby and let me know in the comments what you think of the ship and line in general and until the next time keep sailing it like you stole it o7
Yes correct but I already mentioned a few other nations, it wasn't deliberate just didn't want to overload people and just avoid confusion. Most of the ships I'll be covering in this line are Swedish -)
@@CarbineCarlito Well you know how coops go, it's a rush to get at the targets first. However, the bots appear to have it in for me, even when I'm not the nearest hostile and haven't even fired a shot. Bots hate Visby. :)
Excellent video as always CC. I found untill you get a 10 point captain, this is a really tough ship, but beyond that, is becomes a powerful ship, not a big DPM monster, but really good in the defence and harassment roles. I did find that dropping the torpedo upgrade for turret rotation was a great help in those knife fights around caps, while it does struggle against US boats, Japanese destroyers are easy meat in my experience. This is my favourite line so far, and when you select the right targets, and reach out a touch with a narrow spread, along with decent AA, I seem to do quite well and have a lot of fun.
Thanks again Keith, the dispersion on the main battery is already pretty good but it's a personal choice. I liked having the faster torps an although this video didn't show how good those torps can be, it really showed how flexible the Visby can be even under very difficult circumstances and just felt it was better footage than just another torpedo game.
@@CarbineCarlito I think you gave a good flavour of the line CC. I did go with the torpedo upgrade, but I found the speed already more than good enough to take on BB's, my target of choice. I am also looking at ambush role with RPF and torpedo expert. I've had some great games getting behind the destoyer screen, and torpedo snipping those cruisers and BB's that camp behind islands, when they bunch up you can cause real chaos, however this I found it easier to do this with the Tier 6 onwards. Another fantastic guide CC, and a really important for captains that are finding them frustrating.
just a question i dont know if these ships have been nerfed since this guide was made, but i consider the Visby quite a bad ship currently and i wounder will the line ever be better or is this it?
This line is quite decent to be fair. It does play differently not having a smoke screen but having a repair is very good. The ships have not been nerfed since this guide
@@CarbineCarlito I just cant handle the low damage of the torps, even when you get hits something that is not easy and relies on players with little experience or they are afk. Even 6 hits do little damage kinda sucks the fun out of it. If you get into a gun fight with a another destroyer they seem to totally crush you i had times when i lose half my hp at the first salvo i guess the citadel me with ap or something. While your ap just overpen and He does like 230-1k damage. And this happens often without a stealth commander. The repair does not help much its only around 3k hp at the end of the day and that can be lost in 1-2 salvos.... i rather have smoke on this level if i could. These low damage you just get to sacrifice so much damage for very small advantages and survival traits just seem to kill the ship for me :/ I kinda compar ethis to the Japanese ships that just seems better in every way :( I sadly prefer the US and the german destroyer line.
That Visby looked like it was skidding while doing turns. It looks like a lot of fun to pilot. I'm still fairly new, only been playing a week now, so I'm just on the T2 yet. Thanks for the running commentary, it really helps us understand what you're doing and why and is a great way to learn. I teach new guys the same way at work. Subscribed.
Hi MMSpirit, this Pan EU line of Swedish destroyers is proving to be really quite good. Visby is indeed a very nice ship and feels quite powerful and the strong ship feeling increases as one progresses higher up the tiers. Premium consumables will be something of the “past” in the upcoming update. Dear to say there will be something being compromised later on, who knows. Knowing all Captains will be running what is “premium consumables” as a default on the next update will be a good thing at least.
Hi Rugby86, yes I mentioned this in the video early on and it's great for new players but also the game in general as it levels the playing field performance wise of how ships will play in game. Just the simple difference between the DC cooldowns has a huge effect on damage taken by fires floods etc so that great for the game I think.
@@CarbineCarlito it’s a good move by WG on that aspect. Also quite enjoying the quirks with the Visby, it becomes more pronounced with Vasteras which I do like, oddly enough😜
@@rugby86 The Vasteras is a beast of a ship in the right hands, and potentially a meta changer when dealing with those stationary picket cruisers if you can get behind the destroyer line.
When you launched 2 racks at the CV who was sprinting for the island cover, the BB should never have opened fire. Too many noobs alkter the path of torp targets and are oblivious to the consequences. I especially get riled up when a CV tries to drop torps on a ship I already have torps on. That nonsense causes the target to deviate from course and I lose kills as a result. Pay attention to the torps!
Hi Omega, these are the things that happen regularly that are outside of ones control though. In this case that BB did quite well tanking a lot of damage and he was harassed by 2 carriers for a lot of that game which is never a nice experience. When he finally got a chance to exact a little retribution before dying it's hard to hold it against him. In retrospect I should have held those torps fully expecting the bb to fire and rushed down the cv possibly killing him quicker. There is always something to be learned 😉

If I'm in a Visby, I don't last longer than a minute. In coop. I may suck, but this isn't normal anymore. This doesn't happen to me in Gaede.
You maybe getting into too advanced positions early on and without smoke have no option to kite or fall back

The the upgrade is the +15 rotation turret speed rather than the aiming mod😉

The Västerås is also quite a nice ship. I'm working on that video as we speak and I hope to have it ready soon hopefully before the update lands😉

This is a tough little ship to master, but after quite a few games you learn to play it better. Another great informative vid!!
