Astros had competitive at bats throughout their entire lineup and we didn’t. Simple as that. Cant ask for better pitching than we had in this game. I was happy with how Rocco managed this series/ playoffs. This playoff loss is on the bats.

How Rocco managed? He pulled a pitcher after 2 innings, put in a pitcher who threw lights out only to bring in Thielbar to blow the game. Rocco has done a piss poor job at managing the entire time hes been the manager.

@@kootybearmaeda didn’t pitch yesterday chief. Everyone that came in pitched well aside from 1 pitch from theilbar. There is no possible way you can say this is on Rocco’s bullpen decision when you strike out 14 times.

I love this interview with Mr. Rocco!
Much respect to him and his team Minnesota Twins! Props to them.
I love the way he said he was proud if his team, as he should. And said good things about them. He is a good manager.
But he didn’t trash the Astros, too! This is exactly what good sportsmanship is all about!
They made to the playoffs and are getting better and better.
As an Astros fan, kudos to Mr. Rocco and the Twins! 🫶🏼

I understand what loss feels like in your favorite team, I’m an Astros fan for nearly all of my 50 years…we didn’t do shit until 2017 and now we dominate. But some of your calling for Rocco to be replaced are just plain wrong. He’s done quite a bit for your ball club. The Twins will be a stronger ball club next year and years to come. I was worried Presley would bring Correa to the plate, and Carlos would put one in the stands, Astros fans know what he’s capable of.

You didn’t understand or found The way to neutralize Houston. You were supposed to neutralize there offensive using your best pitcher on first game which is Pablo. Why you didn’t?
Combined with your best experience catcher which is Christian, two times WSC behind the plate, WS non hitter, batting in clutch moments in WS and he’s the best match vs Maldonado. Why you didn’t?
Mr. Rocco did you learn something?
There were some Mgr issues and that’s was the difference to reach WS.
This team is WSC caliber but you have to be a high level mgr.

Twins have a good manager, competitive pitching and great fans. Their hitting is barely above pathetic. They could not hit the starters or the relievers. Too many strikeouts and nobody stepped up. Next year is no guarantee that you will go further. The three strike outs in the last inning tells you all you need to know. You beat them 4-2 in the regular season. But under pressure the hitters choked big time.

The Twins hitting was built around Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa, both of whom have been injured the vast majority of the season. Even with them hobbled we had a Top 5 offense, and we gave the Stros a fight. Good luck in the Series against Atlanta, I hope you win it all. See you next season!

@@tonyrebel63 I did not know Correa was gone. I knew Sonny was leaving. Without them you will not have a chance for revenge next year. Experience comes from winning. Winning comes from making contact and not striking out. Altuve is an example. Watch Alvarez. He follows the ball and hits homers to all fields. Your hitters looked like scared puppies praying for a walk instead of striking out.

I will awlays be a MN Twins fan. But the fact remains, No Minnesota Mens Pro Team will ever win a championship ever. The 87 and 91 teams were just a fluke. We no longer have the coaching, players or gms that make good decisions on the future of the teams. Signing players to contracts that should be held for Superbowl winning QBs like they did with Kirk, singing players like Parise and Suter to such contracts as the Wild did, singing players like Gobert to his contract like the T-Wolves did. We constantly have GMs that dont draft players that are needed like Kwesi has the last 2 drafts. It has been the same song and dance for us MN fans for decades.

@@gloriae2313 Its not about being a negative Nancy. Its called realty. MN hasnt had a team or coach willing to go all the way in years. Just like the 98 Vikes, downing the ball with how many seconds left in the 4th only to lose it in OT. Or the throw across the body Favre when all they had to do was run the ball and we would have had a chance (probably would have missed it) FG attempt. Last year alone, we lost 17 games because Rocco pulled the starter, put in a pitcher for 1 inning who pitched lights out than pulled him and put someone else in only to give up multiple runs. The decisions made by both coachs and GMs have been terrible for years and they keep making the same choices. The Wild putting in Fluery over Gusty in game 2. Trading away 2 goalies while signing FLuery to an extension. Just mistake after mistake

@MatterShim the Astros struck out 10 times this game and 12 times the game before. Even if you make contact, it takes good contact for a hit. Whiffing at the ball falls on the players

    • @chucker625
      @chucker625 9 месяцев назад +1

@@ChattyCheugy Preparing your players to take professional at-bats falls on coaching. The Twins looked like they were completely unprepared for what they saw. As if the scouting report on the opposing pitcher was totally wrong or non-existent.
On top of that, there were bats on the bench capable of changing the game with a single swing. Yet Castro, Taylor and Jeffers were allowed to take 3-pitch K after 3-pitch K. Missing the ball by miles. Not even CLOSE to contact. But I'm sure there's a spreadsheet somewhere that said Rocco made the right call leaving those guys in there for as long as he did (insert eyeroll here).
Also - the Twins 'strategy' all year has been to take walks. They've been good at it. But it also means they go down looking more than any team in the game. At some point, the "situation" needs to be more important than "stats and strategy".
That said - Dear Max Kepler:... It is the BOTTOM OF THE FRIGGIN 9th with two outs, two strikes and a runner on base. You are the GAME WINNING RUN but if you strike out, YOUR SEASON IS OVER. You went down looking in your last at-bat because the ump expanded the zone. So you KNOW that ANYTHING CLOSE is being called a strike tonight. WHAT IN THE FLYING F*&K ARE YOU DOING TAKING CLOSE PITCHES IN THAT SITUATION?!?!?!?!?! Get the bat off your shoulder. Protect the damn plate. Just pathetic.
Sorry I blew up. Looks like that was my annual "end of the Twins season" rant. Glad I was able to share it with you. Have a nice day.
