I can't wait to see the kitchen! We have been building a barnhome, and my husband had saved some slide from the ambulances he used to work on so he can build sliding shelves in our 12x12 pantry! I can't wait till it's completed. ❤
As an artist myself, I 💜 those old silverware boxes for art supplies. Pencils and or brushes in the drawer and tube paints/inks/small pots of paint in the upper. Lots of great uses for us hoarder types. 😬 I never pass them up. But they really are a bit of a paint to “remodel”, aren’t they? 🤦♀️😉
It was fun watching Zeb tear that liner out of the cutlery chest!😄❤️🇨🇦I have the exact same box but it’s full of Grandmas silver…that we rarely use! You could glue some paper or cloth inside.
When I saw that Zeb was going to take the lining out of that silverware box, I thought to myself “oh I got to see this”. Yes I’ve done it before and it’s a royal pain
Christy from Confessions of a Serial DIYer has videos on how to makeover the insides of boxes. I've done a few - it's a bit fiddly! Great job to both of you!
Hopefully you will be able to afford really good hearing aids, mine are good when with one or two people, and only one source of noise but because they give the same volume to all it takes away enjoyment of family gatherings!
I have a tray that is food safe and I would like to stencil the word "Charcuterie", with white chalk paint. Will clear waxing over the word make it food safe?
The cutlery case was nice the way it was. Why do you always have to paint wood? The case would have been great with new wood stain. And why do you have to put transfers on everything? I'm old school, I like things natural especially if the pieces are vintage.
They have preferences, as do their clientele. Just as you do. Each to his own. Silly to question their WHY. Do YOU! And allow others to do themselves without you feeling the need to criticize and shame. Unkind and a waste of your time. Pick your battles. There are FAR LARGER ones that matter in this old world. All the best to you. Sincerely.
Cutlery cases are not in demand. The work and time to sand the box and restain it for resale isn’t cost efficient! Remember they are saving items from the dumpster because when good will can’t sell it it goes to bins or dump. They use transfers, stencils and molds to make items cottage core or shabby chic! Thats What their style is !
Because we like it. And for the cutlery box we bought it over a month ago and had no interest in it not painted. So people might like it but they don’t buy it. Funny the other day I left something plain and didn’t add a transfer and then people were sad I didn’t use a transfer. So I can’t please everyone ❤️
Well this is a DIY site, if you are upset that they paint things instead of leaving them natural I suggest you fine another channel to watch. Jami and Zeb do a GREAT job. They sell things in their shop.

I’m in love with Juniper. This color is amazing. A Very vintage look imo.

I’ve redone one years ago. I ended up lining it with black and white toile fabric… turned out beautiful!!

Jamie is happily painting her tray and Zeb looks so frustrated with the brown box....too funny!!!
Probably should have left the interior for silverware. Best use of this type of box with the drawer.
Zeb that was the perfect stencil for that box and the navy color perfect ! Good call Jami !
I like this closer view
Take the bottom out and glue drawerclosed
And the English drive on the wrong side of the road 😂
Zeb’s box is listed twice. Unfinished and then finished
I am wiling to pay for a sheep and wait for it!

I almost want Zeb to paint the handles on the box blue also…..
I THINK ITS TIME FOR ANOTHER SHOP TOUR JAMI

No but you could use sweet Pickins milk paint with tung oil or hemp oil and it would be food safe
Are you going to do a shop tour before Christmas???
Well try and do one next week. We have family in town this weekend. Maybe we could carve out time fri
Would you ever consider doing a few DIY’s in a primitive style?
We have several primitive style old world finishes we’ve filmed over the years
Just find a local farm for your milk.
