    Unseen Footage of a Famous Big Bull Moose
    That’s right folks! We leave in the morning for Alaska trip #9. We’ll be filming non moose wildlife on arrival for the first couple weeks, while we leave the moose to their feeding and resting as they prepare for another rut season.
    We are very pleased to be sharing today’s video. As we embark on the next moose journey, we think it is the perfect time to share this “never seen” footage of Grumpy . You may recognize a few seconds here and there (because I shot some of this same footage and shared), but for the most part this is unseen Grumpy treasures.
    I encourage you to watch at the 6:00 second mark as Grumpy yawns. When I (Rick) watched it, I am humbled to say it brought tears to my eyes. I really loved this clip of a gentle giant we will never forget.
    Thanks for watching our channel, we are the husband/wife team of Rick and Libby Libbey, (Libby squared), New Hampshire wildlife photographers (and part time Alaska.) It is our passion to document wildlife of any kind, but moose are definitely at the top. In New Hampshire we spend a lot of our spring/summer hours in kayaks photographing loons and moose in the waters of New Hampshire. And hike many miles in Alaska seeking all manner of wildlife in the fall.

    It a crazy size on that bullmoose. Im from Norway and I fotografs and observes moose many times. But the moose living here is a lot smaller. So I must say this film is very good.

      Appreciate that, Kent. Yes, the moose in Alaska are the largest of them all. They are a fun challenge to document, aren't they? Thanks for watching.

      @@MooseManNaturePhotos yes they are. I saw a big moose today. I took some pictures and filmed it. But he stood a bit too far away. They are hunted hard every year so they are very afraid of humans. So it hard too come close.

      @MooseManNaturePhotos  Месяц назад +1

      @@kentandre7676 That is how it is with the moose here in New Hampshire, Kent. They're heavily hunted and very wary of humans. So we go to Alaska where they're not hunted in a national park and used to human presence. Good luck to you!

    Helllo again. I heard your opening dialogue.I hear the sounds of nature, the wind, the moose, etc. I hear the music toward the end, but once again, I can only hear a low mumble instead of your narration. Beautiful video but there's a glitch somewhere.

    Safe travels. Having driven all over North America I’m wondering the route you will be taking and if you post along the way?
    I’ve always thought the rut would be in October, but it seems by your departure it’s starts in September?

    • @MooseManNaturePhotos
      @MooseManNaturePhotos  Месяц назад +2

      Hello. we fly each year rather than drive. As for the rut, we like to experience it all so that includes pre rut, rut, and post rut behavior. Bulls remain in velvet thru most of August, and the rut is triggered by hours of daylight as each day goes by. fun stuff!
