I absolutely love these guys' acting. From their own comments, I understand that *they* think it's bad, but I just think it makes literally every joke and skit so much funnier.
Ah, Ren & Stimpy... it's amazing how little nostalgia I have for the show... because I never watched it. The only nostalgic memory I have with it is that I rented the Genesis game one time. Great review!
@@rickmartinez3268 Also they miss stuff in some of the older episodes like this one, during presentation, there was no mention of the special Sega logo with Log leading the Sega logo like a parade line tuned to the song "It's loooog, it's looooog"...you know the one, and it's a direct reference to one of the gags in the show, that alone would have given an edge in presentation, but also Nintendo had an animated title screen with Mode 7....Presentation SHOULD have been a tie
I really do believe SEGA's Victory on sound was unjust, just because Nintendo's sound effects were a tad bit annoying it apparently didn't count that it had the superior soundtrack. I mean, in the A Link to the Past port for GBA, some may argue that it becomes really obnoxious that Link constantly yells when swinging his sword, while I for one don't mind it at all. I think ti adds to the action. Btw, that kickass song "cuz they're gamers, and they loooove to play the game!!", is that an original song? :-D
I once looked in the garbage can at my middle school and found a Sega Genesis case for "Stimpy's Invention". Don't know who put it in there, but I brought it home and cleaned it up. It had the manual inside but no game. That was also the day I discovered Ren and Stimpy...that was the bad news.
O.O Woah! That was an awesome effect with Greg's shirt! Nicely done! Holy crap, I agree with you about the sound effects in Time Warp getting really annoying. I wouldn't be able to stand that. Also...what the heck is up with needing at least 65 proofs of purchase when the game CLEARLY states 47?!?! That makes absolutely no sense at all. Anyway, great job again, guys!
@@OneHelluvaD I think it's because they're all the same, but how much money you make depends on which ending you get. As Mr. Horse says: "No, sir, I don't like it."

thats why we picked time warp over the other snes games. even though time warp was the better snes game, we still felt it was too frustrating to win. thanks for watching.
ootwii Yes. Had no idea the retron 3 had audio issues. This was the last video we used a retron 3 with. Now we just use a good old SNES and Genesis model 1.
+Console Wars The Retron 3 has audio issues because it was emulation on a chip rather than software based emulation and the 5 definitely fixes that from what I've seen plus the IPS patching thing is great for the wars so might be worth picking the 5 out and exchanging the 3 for a discount if you can. Works just like a cheap Everdrive that does both SEGA and Nintendo for the same price of a single Everdrive for just one of the real systems. However from what I read you do have to fiddle in PC IPS making softwares turning an SFC or MD file into an IPS to slap on your dummy cart plugged into the Retron 5. Perfect solution for more regular wars episodes though.
"While Super Nintendo's music is good, the sound effects are so annoying, sound goes to Sega." What a ridiculous conclusion, lmao!😂😂😂 The Super Nintendo obviously has the superior sound, and the sound effects match the source material perfectly since the cartoon was over the top with its sound effects as well. Best sound obviously goes to Nintendo.
I found the Mega Driver version quite enjoyable with a friend although we did have to cheat. Now what I'd like to know is which is the best RAS game out of the 4 for the Snes?
@@ConsoleWars Not the console wars theme but the music that was used in the Ren and Stimpy show. What's that called and is it licensed or public domain? I'd like to use that in one of my own videos. I researched the music from Ren and Stimpy but couldn't find those tracks nor could I find out if the tracks I find were usable on youtube.
Actually, if you did see the show, you would know that Ren and Stimpy scream alot. Also, the sound Stimpy makes wharfing hairballs actually is from the cartoon. The point goes back to Nintendo in my opinion.
lol! I loved that Sega played the Super Nintendo game with the Sega controller. I hope you guys do Robocop vs. The Terminator - that game is good on both systems, and very different on both systems as well.
I played the crap out of that sega game as a kid.... its gameplay isn't just "a lesser of two evils", but actually pretty good. Especially given the era. I mean, if kid me could beat it, it had to be at least logical and possible. And even if it had passwords, I never used them. I was always too salty that Sega NEVER utilized a save system when Nintendo always could, and often did. At least on the big name first party games. And surprisingly enough, you two seem to about match up age-wise with me, which is pretty uncommon anymore. Seems every YT channel I watch has someone ten years my lesser making six figures more than me making videos commenting on reddit posts. ehh... I got away from the uh, topic. Anyway, this was actually a pretty well made game, nice mechanics, solid controls, nice color and graphics overall. Gotta always appreciate the hardware split on these things, these systems only had so much to spare... So many colors at such a resolution, or with however many sprites, or background layers... or if those layers scrolled, or parallaxed... etc... Same with sound and so on. And this one was pretty good at taking advantage of what it could. I think it was far superior to the SNES offering.
some snes games are misleading in the game (stimpy's invention) or in the title of the game (such as xmen mutant apocalypse) or lack thereof due to the kid friendly rule (mk1 and final fight)
I definitely like snes better and there games usually, but I like the Sega game better. I just remember renting a bunch of the snes ones when I was younger, but only liked one or two and could never rember which one.
Wrong as it is, there is no reason (to me, at least) to beat Time Warp without PAR codes. Plus, using save states is wrong too, but it helps you take a break from the game and save it for later instead of beating it in one shot.
Wow, the SNES game is broken. LOL I get Greg's point about the cartoons though; there were many good ones in the 90s, and many of them also got games made for them.
Sure was. Nicktoons, Ninja Turtles, New Batman/Superman adventures, The Tick, Mighty Max, The Disney Afternoon, the Simpsons, Beavis and Butt-Head, Sonic the Hedgehog, Eek! The Cat, Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, Freakazoid, Garfield and Friends, Sailor Moon, Dragon ball Z, Swat Kats, Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, the Powerpuff Girls, Reboot, Jonny Quest the Real Adventures...I could go on
Loved the sega game as a kid, its a challenge but not too hard. Doesn't have super high replay ability but its a good game, a better than average platformer.

Insanely annoying more like it 8:00
At least the Sega Genesis has a normal ending

Great as always, dudes. :)
That was so frustrating. Glad you enjoyed it!
I wish they could've reviewed Veediots to Stimpy's Invention because they are more similar to each other.
at 5:53 the music is almost identical to the 2nd stage on earth worm jim. the hell themed stage

Oh.
It's Mussorgsky's Night On Bald Mountain
