The Constitution does not allow any law to be enacted that discriminates against people by race, creed, etc... and trying to enact a law for Black only would discriminate against everyone else. The only Constitutionally separate group in the US is the Native Americans, who have all kinds of Treaties whereby they get specific laws for them alone. But they are still bound by the laws of the land. So, no one will ever "do something for (just) black people". That is why no honest person ever promises that they will. The only good that can be done for Blacks is to try and make things better for ALL, focusing on the middle class and poor, rather than the rich.

There's no one alive whose grandfather was a slave owner. Kamala's father has written about an ancestor of his nother/grandmother who was a slave owner. That is not unheard of for Jamaicans or even African Americans because of rape of enslaved women, and coercive and transactional sexual relationships between white men and black women during and post slavery.

So does her father when you see his pictures and videos. He is visibly mixed, with less African descent than the average Jamaican like me, but it's visibly there. Plus he was a Pan Africanist throughout his academic career. Just Google the article because Facebook isn't allowing me to link it.
