  • Last February we got together with guys from Great big Sea to do a bit of filming. This day, however, happened to be the coldest day of the year and with the wind and snow coming off the water behind us we thought we just might freeze. Turned out wel in the end, we captured this great performance.

    The absolute best version of this song. Bob's voice is like my dream voice.

      @@milrond6943 They've retired. Alan Doyle is still recording and performing solo, though.

    Always will be proud to have Newfoundlander blood in my veins. Music and culture likes this reminds me of a special "people" here in Canada. One that never went away and wasn't too far... Be there in the once!

    We're in Ontario, but have a Newfoundland puppy that is like our daughter. I just put this on for her and she loves it. Going to make this the start of a playlist for her!

    Wow, great. Although, it appeared that Alan and Sean would've rather been somewhere warmer, .. anywhere warmer. .

      Yea Sean just looks like he wants to keep warm and Alan's lookin like hes resigned himself to the fact.

    Far out, Brussel Sprout, it's 24 deg C and 79% humidity in Coffs Harbour NSW Australia. Winter lasts 2 weeks here (yeh yeh, officially it's June to Aug inclusive) but I only count winter when I have to put socks on my feet and wear long sleeved thin cotton T-shirt (vs short sl thin cotton T-shirt)

    Also, what is "keeping the blood off the deadman's face" mean?

    • @woodstockthebird379
      @woodstockthebird379 7 лет назад +6

      Not sure, I BELIEVE a sailor died during a voyage, and blood was possibly leaking from parts of his face (Nose, Mouth, ears, etc.), probably keeping his body clean to be cremated.
