I've made the Lovecraft connection on the 60 Cycle Hum comments thread before, and the saga sure continues here: Ryan is summoning shoggoths with that blasted device, and he really shouldn't do that. Because, AIEEEEEE!!!! TEKELI LI! TEKELI LI! TEKELI LI!!! l need one.
Awesome demo sir, thank you. Can’t wait to fall into the sinkhole of reverb with this thing. Seems like it can be somewhat subtle and then doomy and gloomy as heck. I think this will bring a lot of joy to my ears. Thanks
A few years ago Rob Scallon did a world record pedal board with over 300 pedals. They hooked up a switch to go between clean tone and all 300+ pedals on… the feedback knob on this cranked up and just not letting the sound fade reminds me of the wall of noise from 300+ pedals running at once.
I like Catalinbread's stuff, but they are priced quite a bit above an impulse buy price. So it has to be something I really need. That said, sounds really interesting and has cool art. But IDK if I would use it much as it seems for a pretty specific purpose. I've got an old beat up BOSS RV-3 and a DIY chorus pedal (Cepheid chorus kit) that I still haven't fully explored.
Dude, I swear, at least to me, half of a pedals appeal and sound is in the design. Usually The better it looks, the better it sounds. If you’re drawn to a certain pedal for a reason, usually it’s a keeper!
The eerie trail at the beginning gives off a vibe like if you are being drawn towards a black hole about ready to be sucked in and the trail is the sound the black hole is making,
Reminds me of the Collision Devices Black Hole Symmetry, especially when combined with dirt (that pedal has built in fuzz after the verb/mod to give evil shoegaze in deep space or Dune soundtrack vibes).
This is fantastic! I am an electronic musician and I am already having ideas. The TD-3 for some dark acid or a sting/pad sound. Or maybe an evolving ambient thing on my modular synth. So many cool possibilities. I wish this pedal weren't so expensive. But I think I might just have to get it.
Combine this pedal with a Catalinbread Bicycle delay while watching "In The Mouth Of Madness" and you'll forget your own name for about 4 hours. Also, the LED on the bicycle delay changes color in the same manner as the Sinkhole pedal.
I like it. I've watched this review 6 times so far today and @ viewing session 3 I ordered the SINKHOLE from AMS! Great Job 👍 on this video presentation! Namaste 🙏!
Surrender to Shoegaze Dreams and Spells.....Where Anything is Possible with the right effect pedal. Is it OK to have 4 Reverbs and 6 Delay pedals on my board? Why Yes, it is OK. It is Encouraged. Shoegaze is Freedom!!! Love Your channel and personality. Your a Great player too. Thanks
Just been vibing with this in the background. Time well spent! I have a Squier bass VI I use when I teach, guess I gotta go do this kind of stuff with it now.
Damn! Now I got another reverb on my wants list! Thank you... Great demo, cheers 😎 That's a great sound from one pedal (not counting the dirt), it sounds like there's a whole chain of ambience! p.s. Like you, I tend to say 'let's get it plugged in and see what it sounds like/give it a whirl/give it a try' cheesy but effective!
Unfair comparison for many reasons, including the fact that we can literally see where the selector knob is!-I know, just excited whenever that wonderful pickup is on display.
I was just checking out videos for the sunlight last night. That pedal is on my wish list for sure. I think I like it more than this sinkhole but they both do some pretty cool stuff. Hard decisions these days with so many offerings.
It's Catalinbread so you can afford to run it in true stereo (ie buy 2) after all it not like it's made by Strymon where you have to sell your wife and kids to afford to buy one! 😉😆
Man oh man oh man. I should count the number of reverb pedals (nevermind all the delays) I already have before pushing the order button on this one. "Should."
I was already interested in this pedal and now after watching you play, I def need it now. Also what dirt pedal is it that you're using? Love the sound.
So if you are doing sound effects for a budget horror movie... Maybe someone should let Tony Iommi try out one of these. On the Bass VI it really reminded me about the theme to 'Twin Peaks'.
Oh yeah.. I remember my first time sitting at home stoned outta my gourd turning on all the effects and strumming just the open strings thinking that sounded so cool too. Then the first time in my teachers studio where he told me to unplug all that shit its all done in the booth where it can be set up properly.
@@colinbanning941612-string basses exist (4 sets of 3 strings, it’s the usual bass tuning, then 2 octave up strings (intro to Jeremy by Pearl Jam is done on a 12-string bass), I guess just remove one string for a Bass XI.

0:33 I'm loving the silly edits, please keep doing these whenever you feel its appropriate!
Instant darkwave pedal. You don't need a Jazz Chorus and a reverb, just a Sinkhole.
From this point forward, I will be adding "John Carpenter machine" to my criteria for a reverb pedal.
This would be perfect for doom metal, black metal, atmospheric, Lovecraftian gothic. I want it!!!
Awesome demo sir, thank you. Can’t wait to fall into the sinkhole of reverb with this thing. Seems like it can be somewhat subtle and then doomy and gloomy as heck. I think this will bring a lot of joy to my ears.

this pedal makes me anxious

I really love the decorative work on the pedal as much as the sound. It really captures the inner me!😊

What the fuck was I talking about the inner me? I think my humor even goes over my head sometimes. Lol But yes I totally get what you mean.
LOL I GET IT NOW...again! Given my avatar picture and the artwork on the pedal. LOL
I've had a lot of Catalinbread effects. I can see this becoming my fave!
How are they? I’m just now hearing of them
Good lord....
I don't need another reverb....reverb...reverb
Can you imagine this on a Theremin? Freaky "Whole Lotta Love" vibes
I'm thinking this would be great with synths. I may have to get one.

this pedal is awesome-love that reverb.
I actually think Ryan's voice would sound awesome singing two princes.
Ladies and gentleman we are floating in space
Thanks, now I need this AND the cloak. Damn you.
Man... That nails both the sound of "Nowhere" by Ride AND "E5150" and "Stonehenge" by Black Sabbath. VERY cool!

That excellent reverb witn its flangy mod sounds like "Chirstian Death" or "Killing Joke" sometiimes, it depend how you push the mod...Love it !

The surface is marred by violence, like the Troglytes. Here on Stratos, we have completely eliminated violence.
Loving the energy in the introduction here. Can we get a “Noel’s Knobs” for whatever setting you start with when using the Off-Kiltertron?

You can get that Troy Van Leeuwen vibe with it for sure. I love it
It sounds awesome, at first I wasn’t sure it was worth it, that pedal is pretty fun. I order from your link.
Very enjoyable demo luv your enthusiasm
As an OBNE Sunlight owner, I feel like I've got this section of my board handled already. But if you don't? This sounds really fun.

ive got the Dark Star. got all the dark ambience covered too 😆

I think the dark beauty was demonstrated by feeling good being lost.
Report directly to Rob Zombie to work on the score of his next film
I hear he still likes clowns.

I could see this after some cool little synths- make some cheap horror movie soundtracks! Really cool sound. Definitely inspiration in a box
I am an electronic musician and already have some synth ideas. Td-3 for dark acid or a sting sound.
6.50 sounds very Donnie Darko!
There was this show Tails from the Darkside, and the credits synth sounded like some of that

Add the CSIDMAN pedal they do after that distorted tone. I bet it sounds MEGA!
You won me over with this video 🤘
Trippy sounds. Pretty, pretty, cool.
Great now I'm gonna have to buy one
I know its called the sinkhole, but I can't unsee that as more of a 'stinkhole' if you catch my drift...
Thye need to do a Deluxe version of this with assignable expression pedal in.
That thing is awesome 🤘🏽🤘🏽
Got the Bass VI dancing around in Twin Peaks, looking for Laura.

“John Carpenter Machine”. Bueno mi amigo.

Would love to watch Phantasm, JC's The Thing, and From Beyond while playing this to the scenes.

I love the weirdness of it. I would be physically incapable of not putting a t sticker on that bad boy. Stinkhole.
Dang. I gotta get lil Timmy to throw me up one of these from the bottom of the well. Its like Iommi playing riffs from Alpha Centauri.
an event horizon is a sinkhole of the universe, thats conkey as a flonker-donker
Is space doom a thing? it needs to be a thing. and it needs a pedal like this.
I feel like Space doom is what I'm making whenever I use a fuzz with my OBNE darkstar
This makes me almost want to sell my afterneath.
You could record a whole White Zombie album with that pedal.
You are a man of great taste.
