Sweden didn't participate in ww1. In fact they haven't waged war since Napoleon.

Hey Apollo, just wanted to let you know man, things have been quite rough for me in my life the past couple months and your videos have been a way for me to just relax at the end of the day and cope with all of that. I have a deep love for the Total War Series and I think you do an amazing job on your videos. You're one of the only youtuber's I've seen that actually just comes off as a genuinely nice guy, which is something you don't see often these days. Especially on the internet. Keep doing what you're doing and don't let the trolls drag you down!

The only thing i dont like about this mod is the jumpy camera.

Some 4v4s could be nice, just for the numbers and epicness or 2v2s for more space for maneuvers.

Hi Pixie😀 If u r trying out minor factions, try Serbia. Although I recomend avoid using zeleni kadar unit, because historicaly it never was part of serbian WWI army. I think u will have fun with this faction.

Pixelated Apollo You haven't done a "proper" army comp in a "while", you either go too fast, or just jump to the action, watching the army comps is very fun (at least for me).

I did a battle where it came down to 2 arty peices, 1 6 pounder horse arty, and one 9 pounder. Then he charge foward his 6 pounder to try and use cansiter but I shot him down.

This is probably the most historically inaccurate battle you've played for this mod. Sweden was neutral during the war and if they weren't they would've joined with the central powers because the immense amount of German support in Sweden and their hatred of the Russian empire. Still a great battle though.

Braden Wrightstone, u are correct my great grandfather was a German soldier back then and had many friends who had been to Sweden
The very first SMG that was widely produced and issued was the bergmann MP18 (Check my spelling) which saw use at the very tail end of ww2. German storm troops used it in quick trench raids which were meant to demoralize and weaken the enemy. To my knowledge they never participated in a major offensive or were standard issued to any units. They did get good reviews from German soldiers who noted it as a handy weapon for close quarters trench warfare, however, the war did end only something like 3-6 months after its first implementation. So to answer your question, no, sub-machine guns did not play a major roll in the war at any time.

whatabout PPSH ? and all officers of wehrmacht had MP18 it wasnt that uncommon, first ASSAULT rifles were made at the end of a war russians used ppsh as early as 1939 (winter war)

One point: cav was a massively important weapon in the winning of the First World War on the Western Front. Cav and aircraft provided the mobile heavy push required. Artillery and tanks were still important in breaking forces but lacked the speed to make good their power, provided by cavalry in the end.
Don't stop making vids with this mod, it's brilliant and please don't think this is an attack, it's not, but I am too much of a geek not to comment!

They used smgs in the mid of 1914 when the war started but not alot and most men didnt know how to control the fire rate. and towards the end of the war they got better and used more.
Try Denmark or Norway next time :D

I tried NTW3 s latest version, it runs.. but crashes for MP, Custom Battle or Campain Battle. so I don t know myself .. what the issue could be. Installed it as they said.. but if it "Workes" other Windows that.. 10 I have.. so ? anyway dont wanna take up Your time and watched Your vids since.. you where a small youtuber :D and also continue doing the good stuff you do mate :D
Pixelated Apollo, you should do a Great War mod video playing as the Soviet Union. Maybe do a revolution thing where you fight the Russian Empire.
yo Apollo, a small favour if you can, is it possible if you can get in touch with the modders of NTW 3 mod? I haven t played that since 5.1 version, but as I have seen from others 7,1 is .. well not best for most users. I have Heard about pep how tested it .. some was able to run it and play Campain map, but not able to play on Battle maps or Naval. and trying to test MP for others.. its just crashed to desktop. so I am sure its a few .. of ous .. Knights of Apollo, who need our Lord Apollo s help or Apollo s guidence. :)

You should do a video where Sweden fights Russia in the great war. Sweden would have more likely joined the central powers because the Swedish king was pro-german, and so was most of the Government. If they joined the war they probably would have mainly fought Russia which controlled Finland at the time to their east. So you should do Sweden vs. Russia. That would be an interesting Scenario. My opinion is put Russia on the attack and Sweden on the defense. Just a suggestion.
Okay so I know that this was WWI but I have a question about WWII for those history fanatics. So if you looked at a map of all the Axis controlled in Europe you can see that Switzerland was still neutral even though they were surrounded by Axis. Can someone tell me why?

Well, actually, cavalry was used a lot more in the last 100 days of the First World War as the war became a lot more mobile again. But even in 1916 it was used, that famous photo of a German Lancer with the Stahlhelm, for example

Well the Pilotes in ww1 might have died very quickly. But I would prefer it to die after the first couple minutes of a war/battle, than sitting for years in that trench praying that the artillerie doesnt hit me, seeing all my friends die in some usless attackes for a couple meters of ground, Fighting the enemy attackes and just try to dont get killed, and after all of that they use gas or my Side attackes or an enemy attack comes and I die. For what did I lived those past couple years? Slaying men I dont know cauz our countrys dont get along.
I prefer the pilot better quick and dead than years of fighting just to die at the end. Or come back but be so traumaticed that I cant live my life anymore. Where is the use in that?

Hello Apollo, I love the WWI videos. This is my first comment that I've been able to post not sure what the problem has been. Anyhow, you do great work.
I don't know how much you've played since this, but having watched a couple of your games with this mod I feel like your main problem is that you don't understand just how deadly guns are in it. These aren't muskets, they have much longer range and much better killing power and much higher rates of fire and charging into melee takes long enough that they can utterly decimate your troops in the time it takes. And then you have to deal with specialised close in weapons.
I hate this mod. It perpetuates silly notions about what WW1 was like. You simply can't represent modern warfare on a TW engine.

Actually, one of the reasons why there wasn't as much cavalry at the end of WW1 is because everyone ran out of horses.
There should be a WW1 mod for Napoleonic Wars, that would be nice.
