Version 2.3 is pretty minor, but new updates are always exciting! 😊

The move panel finally has scale! I loved that all the wayf back in Macromedia Freehand. Huge range of uses.
There were a massive amount of bug fixes. Mostly for Publisher. I hope they can get to the bug backlog for Photo and Designer, but they really should promote more their renewed focus on quality because it is a big deal. Love the more frequent updates.
They also should let people know they are working on some really big things in the background while also pushing out these smaller fixes. Those include scripting and some AI features.
It's the password protection for me, I love it
Yes, finally a scale slider! Great. Still waiting for the tracing tool though. Getting better with each release.
The PDF file making and password option is my favorite. Love all your videos by the way, and personal help when needed.

Absolutely awesome update!
I really love the new updates. One thing I'm looking forward to is for the ability for affinity publisher to export to html. I don't know if this is something that's in the works, but my old publisher program used to do this and it was very helpful for designing newsletters.

It's great to be able to change the background color to see the assets. Dark interface looks cool, but I find light interface much better for color perception. I hope we can get an option to change the entire UI from dark to light in all versions including iPad. I use Adobe Cloud, but have been also a Serif user all my life and have bought every piece of software they've ever made. I still have and use their scrapbook software Serif Craft Artist which I absolutely love and is super fun to use.

So Affinity spends time and resources to make changes that no one asked for, and few people are likely to use but cannot bring themselves to give us a vector trace function -- which has been requested by many (if not most) Affinity users for years! Sort of tells us where their priorities are, doesn't it?
That being said, the young lady did a good job on the video. She's helpful. And it's not her fault that Affinity doesn't listen to its customers.
Incorrect, these updates are awesome. Some people just are never happy.

No auto trace in Designer, no GREP styles for Publisher; we keep asking/hoping, but it seems these requests just go round and in spirals...
I will take Affinity serious when they finally implement full ICC color management like Adobe did about 20 years ago. Still many basic functions are missing in A.

Hi Ally, I love your video tutorials. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I learn so much every time I watch one. I have a question for you if you don't mind. Could you make a tutorial on creating an iridescent, holographic, liquid-effect badge or sticker? Something like the ones you see on course certificates, or DVD boxes, etc. I have seen many tutorials for Photoshop, but none for Affinity products.
although it is named Affinity Photo updates for photographers are rare, it's all for designers/artists
agreed. I mean, as a product photographer I cannot use Affinity Photo because, somehow, it does not have a way to use a color checker card, which is essential to obtain more authentic colors. Even free tools, but which are really for photos, can work with either the Spyder Checker or the X-Rite color passport.
I was going to say the same thing. Serif seem to have forgotten us photographers that use the programme to develop and work on our images.

Good, but I'd really like the selection tool to a LOT more obvious as to whether I'm selecting or deselecting. Like, rather than two buttons that change slightly, it should be one button that changes significantly. Like, turn it white for select and black for de-select.
Unfortunately, a vectorize tool seems always missing....
Hi Ally! I found you and almost immediately subscribed. However, I feel like I am "drinking from a fire hose". My first question (of hundreds) is should I learn the apps on the PC first or iPad? I have an iPad Pro 12.9. I am waiting for my apple pencil to arrive. I have purchased the total license and I have all the apps on both PC & iPad. Where should I begin when it comes to your YT content as well as your paid courses? Your prices seem so reasonable. You seem like a wonderful young lady; so well spoken. Your smile and enthusiasm are both infectuous! Do you have an email address you share with your viewers? Do you have time to answer questions?
I recommend you begin by learning the PC version of Affinity. I think the PC version has a more intuitive interface than the iPad version, and there are a lot more training resources for the PC version than for the iPad version.
If you have any Affinity questions, I recommend you use the Affinity forums. There are lot of great people there, and they love to help new Affinity users. 😊

Is anyone else having problems adding text on the iPad version? I notice the text feature is on the right side toolbar now but when I click on it it doesn’t allow me to add text

Why when exporting a photo with just simple resize and crop it becomes low quality?
My layers have disappeared from the right of my screen how do I get them permanently back ??
Go to the Window Menu at the top, then down Studio, then over to Reset Studio.
Or if you are using Affinity Version 1.10, you will find the same option under the View Menu.
RTL language is not supporting

What I noticed is that Affinity Photo crashes a lot with the new update 😕
Honestly I was super excited at first when I bought affinity photo. I bought the first version.. I thought I could substitute Photoshop but honestly, affinity is just super unintuitive for me. I hate using it and it also runs extremely slow on my system for whatever reason? I'm editing 4k Sony A7SIII footage with no problems in davinci resolve but when starting up affinity, I get the feeling my system is gonna explode. I'm sorry I really tried.. but adobe won this one for sure, especially now with AI it's miles ahead.
When will Affinity change the embarrasing DPI to PPI? They are not the same and DPI is not correct. They can not be used interchangeable. I will be happy to do a video call with you guys to explain why it is wrong to use DPI. The only people that need to use DPI are the people writing the driver software for inkjet printers.
They is getting into more expensive stuff now.. the prize of the software is increasing
It only makes sense as they are giving us more and more as time goes by through all the updates. I'm good with it as long as they don't go the subscription route.

These changes in Affinity are Great but still Affinity is far behind because of not use of AI tools.I Request Affinity team to please do work on AI tools in Affinity.

Affinity photo has been on sale more times than it has had meaningful updates since launch - I've virtually stopped using it as its so far behind all other photo editors
paying for version 2 of Affinity Photo and the entire package was a mistake...
What are you using that is better than Affinity (but does not cost a small fortune)?

It has been over 7 years, and Affinity still does not seem to acknowledge the importance of having a Right-to-Left writing feature.
give us more options to customize the UI, stop with these useless updates!
