LUCY is a band that creates ambient music. They include sounds that we hear from our surroundings. Specifically, in "Snooze" they have the alarm as the ambient sound. So when you hear their music, it helps you somehow picture a scene. Honestly, *Snooze* and *Stove* are my favorite songs from LUCY. In "Stove," they have the sound of fire crackling from the fireplace/stove, strong wind/blizzard bcs it's winter, bell ringing, footsteps, and opening/closing of door. You can just close your eyes and imagine the scenes play in your head while the music is playing. I would really appreciate if you try reacting to "Stove" as well!
i remember in superband when some members had gone out to record the ambient sounds for a song, it was funny/cool and now it's their bands signature haha how wholesome
Oh man, "Stove" is so beautiful, it's my favourite song by them as well! I'm tearing up just thinking about it XD it's so comforting and quiet and fills you with warmth! I agree, it would be so cool if they could react to it!
This just reminded me of when they were yet to release their song "Hero", when they released the MV Teaser and just had the instrumental part played on that, that's exactly what I had in mind and what it felt like, like as if it reminded me of ghibli movies cuz that's what it felt like listening to it.
I love Lucy but haven't dived completely in and this was the first time I heard this song and when that violin part came towards the end holy I teared up
Lucy's music is all so beautiful, and they dont have a very large discography yet so its easier to listen to it all :) I highly recommend their performance of Flare from the competition show (there is a studio version of it too but personally the live one is so much more magical)
the song is like "wait, you don't have to force yourself to be an adult! just pause for a minute and observe the surroundings first, appreciate the things you see right now before you go on that way!" it's like when you're annoyed because the alarm is ringing cuz it's time to "wake up" and "do the duties"; but you're tired, so you pressed the "snooze" button to sleep for another 5 minutes😆
so another fun fact: the other people mentioned in production are Park Jihwan, who was another participant on Superband and actually came in as a duo with Wonsang (Lucy's bassist), and O.Yeon who has worked with them as a part of the producing group Yenevara. so it's basically just a big happy Superband family! they're all very close ^^ AH! and I can't believe I almost forgot - one of those names is Lee Juhyuk, who was the first vocalist Lucy had when they originally formed on Superband, so he helped create the first version of Snooze on the show. he's actually a part of a trio called GIFT (and their bassist Kim Hyungwoo was also on the show haha), and he ended up deciding to return to them after the show ended. Choi Sangyeop, the current vocalist, was also a part of the show and because everyone there is so close with each other, they called him up and asked him to become their new vocalist! it was really wholesome and both Juhyuk and Sangyeop are very important parts of Lucy :)
Also Yenevera is the producing trio consisting of Wonsang Jihwan and O.yeon. They produced and worked on some songs of Lucy together with the other 3 members of Lucy.
THE PAUSE BEING HITTING "SNOOZE"!!! YOU GUYS ACTUALLY BLOWED MY MIND HOW DID I NOT REALIZE THAT BEFORE!!! I'm so happy you guys reacted to this! AND JU YOUNG CRYING AT YECHAN'S VIOLIN SOLO WAS SO RELATABLE AHHH!! LUCY is such a special band, it was so cool to hear you guys discuss their song!!! Hope you can react to more if you can!
I haven’t even watched this yet but I’m going to SOB I’m super excited to see everyone dissect Snooze, Lucy is by far one of my favorite bands and they really always bring something new to the table. Thank you for this !
I really love LUCY. They definitely have their own distinct sound that is so refreshing in kpop/band music. I've been hoping y'all would react to them! So glad you did! I hop you'll do more of their music. I think y'all will enjoy it!
14:18 i love what jason says here. lucy has made me so much more interested in classical music, i also picked up the violin last year thanks to them. they've really been a huge inspiration!
hi, i've been very interested in playing the violin, more so when lucy happened. i'm 25 now tho, and i feel old just learning now and not when i was younger. have you been progressing good with learning?
@@chs9607 hello! i’ve been learning for 8 months now, i started in november. i practice 30 mins-1 hour each day so my progress has been steady. i truly believe that it’s never too late to learn something, so don’t worry about your age. there are people who picked up the violin in their 30s and 40s. the only real requirement is patience! if you want to give it a try, go for it (:
I truly hope you dissect more songs by LUCY because they have a distinctly sound. They like to mix ambience sounds with their instruments and the mixes are always amazing *-* I would like to recommend flare to look specifically to that aspect of their music. Also, their main producer is the bassist so maybe because of that the bass usually has a great role in the undertone of their songs.
Wow, thank u reacttothek. Never heard of them. But thank u for introducing me to this band. Omg, they’re so talented. Gonna listen their music for sure.
also Shin Yechan, the violinist, actually used to busking for years before joining superband with his friends and got viral for few times in Korea because of his playing!!
idk if you know this but stove was an unreleased song for a long time before it was rearranged and officially released.. i personally prefer the old arrangement because the released one sounds too extra if that makes sense? it was comforting the way it was but the official version was embellished even more so that it lost some of the comforting feel that the original has :(
This absolutely made my day. LUCY is my 3rd ult group and it makes me so happy to see people appreciate them. Also hey Umu, LUCY did some really good covers of Man in a Movie by Day6, OHIO by Crush and a track from Howl's Moving Castle's OST. I think you would like them.
oh wow I found out abt them through Young K as well! Someone on twt posted a photo of Yechan's violin case that YK signed after LUCY's Idol Radio guesting and I got curious. The rest was history lol I was hoping more people would check them out through the collab, im so happy you ended up liking them. 🥰
When Jason said about introducing classical music through pop music, I remember yechan the violinist once said that he also has similar goal of introducing violin to the general public. That's why he started busking as a violinist years before he debuted with lucy
Jason’s reactions are a big mood, I am OBSESSED with the bass line in this song (and yes, that is a six string bass). Thank you for choosing this song to show it to the reactors! Hopefully it’ll get them some new fans :)
Hearing them give constant praise throughout the reaction made me so happy and my heart so full!!! It feels so good to see every member of LUCY being recognized for their musical talent

How about reacting another K-band 'ONEWE'?? I recommend not only listening to the song "Rain To Be", but also watching the mv about it. I was really shocked to see it. When I heard their music, I couldn't help but love them. That song was made by the member "Ganghyun(guitar)". (The band 'ONEWE' belongs to RBW (Mamamoo, Oneus, etc.). However they did not gather by a company, but themselves. At first, three members(drum, bassist&rapper, guitar) became friends at the same music academy and started making music together. And then another member(vocal&piano) was a neighborhood friend of one of the three members who first started. Finally, in one music contest where they(existing4members) were sessions, they met a great vocal guy who was a contestant. And they suggested him being a member of their band. So all gathered. It's like a drama.) P.s. I studied English to write these sentences, and I tried to convey what I wanted to say to you. Please.... And I love and enjoy your videos.
I also recommend ONEWE's some covers: HIP(mamamoo), LATATA((G)I-del), Dolphin(ohmygirl), twit(Hwasa) and etc. (I especially recommend the cover of LATATA it was amazing and I was shoked)
Unfortunately Onewe and Hippipola are not even on the list considered for review by them - doing these bands a major injustice since they play and write their own music, find it weird that most of the songs on the list are composed , arranged and instruments played by musicians other than the idols. I only come to this account when they review k bands.
@@QueensThief76455 I was surprised they reviewed Lucy, who are very creative but not well known. The gate keepers whoever they are made a good discovery. I can’t believe that these gatekeepers listen to The whole body of Kpop and come up with their lists. It appears that the majority that pass whatever criteria they have are the popular songs by well known performers. Once in awhile rare gems like Lucy get through.
really hope to see more reaction to LUCYs songs in the future here (maybe also some of their covers like 'merry-go-round' or 'last reunion' would be lovely)
Lucy really are experts on taking you on a journey and actually take you somewhere with their songs, like with flare, stove, farther and farther... man, I love them so much
thank you for reacting to LUCY!! ♡ LUCY is a really talented group, not only here, they basically work on almost all of their songs themselves. their bassist is actually their main producer!! i'm sure you'll like their other songs too, LUCY songs are all magical and i think they really put a lot of thoughts on the musicality of their songs, it would be great if you'll react to more of their songs one day 🥺🥺💙
I don't know yet if Umu mentions this in the video but actually Snooze is a song they composed when in Superband. Back then they had Gift's vocal Juhyuk as the vocalist not Sangyeop, and Juhyuk is among who composed. Also, with the song they refer to how hard stressful it is to be an adult, and to look back into childhood and reminiscence
Oh wow! That was a good one! Thank you, Umu, for introducing LUCY. Exactly the reason why I subscribe to your channel, I want to discover good artists with fresh takes and a new energy to the scene. Definitely going to check out LUCY. That was really nice. :)
another special fact about lucy is ambience sound…you can hear the sound of nature in most of their songs~they recorded by themselves.all of their songs are produced and composed by themselves too…with their friends ''yenevera'' Park Jihwan and O.yeon I hope more people get to know about lucy through this video~take your time and listen to other lucy songs too~ you will never regret!
Snooze is my favorite song so far. The reaction of each of them to the video was the same as mine. I love the ambient music that LUCY creates, I can close my eyes and go where they want to take me
Hi, maybe you can try reacting to "Hoppipolla". They're the winner of the Superband show and has a Cellist as a member. Songs recommended are "Enough" and "Your Ocean". Look forward to your reactions ✌🏼
I honestly haven’t even thought of the alarm clock sound and how it was used in the song until Kevin (7:58) pointed it out. Also, the way each pause/space in the song is a snooze, that’s why it is titled Snooze! Oh my god, I already love the song but that give it a new dimension to me.
Yes guys, finally time for Lucy to shine. Stream their songs on Spotify and RUclips, give them the recognition they deserve. Support them, they are having an online concert soon, tix sales out now :)
Omg I watched this vedio really long time ago, and as I found there will be a project with LUCY, I came here right away. And I found again your reactions are sooo cool.... Thank you for all deep talks about LUCY's song
Walwals (Lucy Fans) like me who have been a fan of both ReacttotheK & Lucy can't explain the joy from this commentary. THIS VID JUST MAKES ME FEEL SO PROUD OF OUR BOYS! And because of this I know one day the wholesome, sweet, childlike music they make would be heard and recognized by more people just like any other popular groups and bands. Again tysm Umu & reactors for this wonderful video. Even though I can't explain what I felt after watching this hope you understood what I meant :-)))
Thank you for your reaction to lucy 😭😭 i've been waiting to see all of your reaction to this masterpiece 😭 Lucy's Snooze will always be my comfort song. The violin bridge will always leave me with my jaw opened 😭🤣 cant wait for another reactions of Lucy!!!
Haven't even watched the video yet but *thank you so much* for reacting to LUCY, I hope many more people will check them out after this, they're criminally underrated and ridiculously talented
Yechan's solo violin part will always got me in my feels, I was bawling the first time I listened to it... that part alone is a masterpiece, but Sang Yeop's beautiful vocal, Won Sang's sick-ass bass, & Gwang Il's drum & opening vocal, everything just falls perfectly! Listen to their song Flare or Flowering (개화) too, so good!
it's interesting that Henry mentions around 9:00ish that the song sounded like it was improvised and then written that way, because the song was written during the course of the competition show Superband; it was their second round stage and I think they wrote it within weeks? There wasn't a whole lot of time between each round for the members to prep new stages but they took the risk to write an original song fitting them instead. the little beep sound in the beginning is also the sound you hear when the bus door opens on your commute in korea :)
Thank you so much for reacting to LUCY! Everything said in the video was beautiful and I'm glad you all enjoyed :) also, to everyone finding about them right now, please, stay tuned on LUCY, they are always delivering great, comforting and unique songs!!
I randomly found Lucy on Yt and instantly feel in love with their music. I agree with everithyng everyone said in this video 😂 Lucy is definitely one of my favorite artists out there now Thank you guys for reacting to them!
OMG I'm so happy to see classical musicians' reaction to LUCY, because their music is incredible!! Wonsang (the bass player) is the main composer, and he's just genius, all his songs are so musically interesting and nice! and LUCY are simply great musicians, and it's always very exciting to wait for their new music, because it's SO GOOD UGH thank you so much for this video, the boys really do deserve this kind of promotion, because a lot more people should know about them and their beautiful music!❤️❤️❤️
O.Yeon, Jihwan and Wonsang (the bassist) is a producing team called Yenevara. They produced a lot of song together before Super Band, during Super Band and even until now, for every LUCY's albums.
I'm crying... The Lucy members are not my sons, and I don't even have children but I felt so proud that ReacttotheK is appreciates Lucy's music, Lucy's art
Aww I waited so long for this and still end up a day late lol I loved the comments, especially pointing out how the pauses in the song are them hitting snooze until the end where they repeat the note to wake us up. I'm mad at myself for not realizing that honestly having listened to the song so many times
I WAS LITERALLY CRYING WHEN IT WAS YECHAN'S VIOLIN SOLO! THANK YOU FOR LETTING LUCY OUT IN THE OPEN! Their discography is immaculate and criminally underrated! I've been a Walwal a few months after their debut and I have no regrets. Thanks for reacting to them!

really hope to see more reaction to LUCYs songs in the future here (maybe also some of their covers like 'merry-go-round' or 'last reunion' would be lovely)
yes lucy getting all the recognition they deserve 🥺
I was desperately hoping you'd check it out ever since it released!
Won Sang is an amazing bass player, and he produces their songs also. He’s so unique and talented! Go Lucy!!!!
Lucy really are experts on taking you on a journey and actually take you somewhere with their songs, like with flare, stove, farther and farther... man, I love them so much
I've been debating whether or not I was going to look into this band more. Now I'm definitely going to. Loved the reactions and this song is so nice.
thank you for reacting to LUCY!! ♡
LUCY is a really talented group, not only here, they basically work on almost all of their songs themselves. their bassist is actually their main producer!!
i'm sure you'll like their other songs too, LUCY songs are all magical and i think they really put a lot of thoughts on the musicality of their songs, it would be great if you'll react to more of their songs one day 🥺🥺💙
I don't know yet if Umu mentions this in the video but actually Snooze is a song they composed when in Superband.
Look forward to your reactions ✌🏼
yeah, please
I honestly haven’t even thought of the alarm clock sound and how it was used in the song until Kevin (7:58) pointed it out. Also, the way each pause/space in the song is a snooze, that’s why it is titled Snooze! Oh my god, I already love the song but that give it a new dimension to me.
Man, that violin solo legit brought tears to my eyes
“Snooze” is my favorite LUCY song so far, and I am so glad to see other people enjoy it 😁
AT LAST!!!!!! THEY ARE REACTING TO ONE OF THE UNIQUE AND FINEST BAND.
Yes guys, finally time for Lucy to shine. Stream their songs on Spotify and RUclips, give them the recognition they deserve. Support them, they are having an online concert soon, tix sales out now :)
Stan LUCY, stan talent
Thank you for showing Lucy! I remember when I showed my music teacher this song and she loved it!
I was once requesting flowering, but okay. This one also * chef's kiss *
ALSO! I just remember, try to react to their Intro (Dear.) and Outro (Inside). Maybe 👉👈
One of my favorite videos you've done because it was so obvious to see everyone enjoying the song (it's a great song). Loved it!
Haven't even watched the video yet but *thank you so much* for reacting to LUCY, I hope many more people will check them out after this, they're criminally underrated and ridiculously talented
you guys should react to LUCY's whole discography. they're THAT talented.
WE ALL KNOW YECHAN IS SUCH A GOOD VIOLINIST
I can already see myself coming back to rewatch this dozens of times after this, I love the appreciation for our lucy boys 😔✨
I agree with everithyng everyone said in this video 😂
Lucy is definitely one of my favorite artists out there now
Thank you guys for reacting to them!
I've got to say that Jayson and Ju Young reactions are my favorites!
Preetty much how I reacted, just freak out
OMG I'm so happy to see classical musicians' reaction to LUCY, because their music is incredible!! Wonsang (the bass player) is the main composer, and he's just genius, all his songs are so musically interesting and nice! and LUCY are simply great musicians, and it's always very exciting to wait for their new music, because it's SO GOOD UGH
thank you so much for this video, the boys really do deserve this kind of promotion, because a lot more people should know about them and their beautiful music!❤️❤️❤️
O.Yeon, Jihwan and Wonsang (the bassist) is a producing team called Yenevara. They produced a lot of song together before Super Band, during Super Band and even until now, for every LUCY's albums.
I'm crying... The Lucy members are not my sons, and I don't even have children but I felt so proud that ReacttotheK is appreciates Lucy's music, Lucy's art
this is my first time hearing this song… it caught me off guard in a very good way
OMG THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO LUCY!! (also can we appreciate the A+ editing)
i love lucy so so so much they are FANTASTIC
Aww I waited so long for this and still end up a day late lol I loved the comments, especially pointing out how the pauses in the song are them hitting snooze until the end where they repeat the note to wake us up. I'm mad at myself for not realizing that honestly having listened to the song so many times
I have been waiting for this for so long. Lucy is amazing!
I keep rewatching this video because the reactions are so satisfying.
It's Lucy!!! They're really underrated, hope that more people can know them through this video and go to listen to their music after this. Also hope to see hoppipolla reaction!
Thank you all so much for reacting to and sharing your thoughts on LUCY! They are my favorite of newer groups, their sound is just so beautiful and creative. I gladly welcome more music breakdowns for them, they deserve it so much.
Thank you so much for reacting to Lucy!!! They are soo underrated, I hope this video gives them exposure and gets them well known. I'm only in the beggining of the video but I can't wait to see what you guys have to say about them!
AHHHH YESSS THANK YOU FOR REACTING TO LUCY!!! Hope there will be more LUCY reactions in the future 💙 They’re such skilled and wonderful musicians 💕
I'm so happy Lucy is finally getting the hype they deserve, honestly their whole discography are amazing!!
Just watched this few days ago, and i am addicted to this song, so beautiful song
fun fact: Shin Gwang Il the drummer didnt even audition as a drummer on the show.
FINALLY LUCY REACTION AND ITS SNOOZE MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE AAAH thank you so much!! love to see everyone's reaction and how they're all agree that it indeed gives good vibes (and freaking out over yechan's piano solo PLUS the editing make it 100x times better
I haven't listen to this song before. so the "snooze" realization is mind-blowing to me too 🤣
여자분,,바이올린 좋아해주셔서 괜히 내가 마음이 좋네,,신예찬 나라세워
I've been waiting for LUCY to be featured here and now seeing this, I'm so happy. Thank you, Umu and to the whole team~
thank you for introducing me and many of us to this beautiful song and beautiful band. It's my 2nd time crying on the first time i heard a song. i never heard this song before, but they really put me into some familiar feeling, i'm not gonna say it remind me of my childhood cause mine is such a pain in my ass. it feels like the childhood that i wish i have. this song fed my inner child. thankyou so much
ps. ILOVE how extra you edit Jason, you really give a perfect presentation over how extra he is.
Yasssss LUCYYYYY, I love their music
Whenever the band incorporates violin in their music , it always gives me DMB vibes. The band with violin works always for me :)
As a Walwal, I appreciate all the compliments you all gave towards LUCY. I can't wait until they see this. They would be so happy and proud!
The best LUCY reaction of all
This was the song that made me a Walwal! The fact that this song was composed during Superband will always blow up my mind
