Me and my boyfriend have been thinking about moving to Pittsburgh from a suburb outside of Houston and I fell in love with the idea of all of these especially murrysville! Thank you!
Actually, Sq Hill has a pretty tight housing market to this day, because it's been a desirable neighborhood since it was developed in the early 20th century. Your "explanation" doesn't hold water, or I would have heard of it in the 60+ years I've lived there.
I've been really enjoying your content and reflections of the city, excited to be relocating here this summer! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and energy~!
I’d avoid the East End like the plague for the next few years. When they start the replacement of the I-376 Commercial St. Bridge next year, ALL of the parkway traffic is going to detoured onto S. Braddock Ave. That will make Murray Ave, Forbes Ave and Penn absolute nightmares.
From Pittsburgh, been in Florida since college, real estate is my hobby(active broker), your knowledge and professionalism are outstanding, see you at the top!

A 5 mile away from the light rail (can take a bus to get to it), stadiums, and parks. It felt like the right choice. A lot of great choices in Pittsburgh, it was difficult for sure.
Your videos have been really helpful! I would love to see one (or a series) where you rank neighborhoods based on price range. Would love to live in Shadyside or Squirrel Hill, but they're just not in the budget, so seeing some cheaper neighborhoods with their pros and cons would be great.

What about the west end of Baum Blvd., down around the P Town Bar? I'm viewing an apartment in that area tomorrow. Will I have to worry about getting knifed or shot walking up to Aldi? I'm currently up in East Liberty on the cusp of Highland Park; pretty quiet up here. I'd prefer to stay here, but that doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Important to remember that much of Pittsburgh's housing is old. There's architectural charm - but also a lot of renovation needed on many houses. I had to give up on my old house - it needed too much work for me. On we friendfrom Seattle bought a house in Squirrel Hill - he was excited about the relatively low prices compared to Seattle. First thing - the Furnace Boiler died as soon as he moved in. Second - the Slate Roof had to be replaced. Then the old electrical system had to go...He sold and moved back to Washington State.

The problem with Pittsburgh is we like to “modernize” or spruce up not so good areas to make them look like an awesome place to live but they aren’t actually because of the crime. Those brand new townhomes In the strip district that cost outlandish prices? No thanks!
Like your videos, but please don't say "15 minutes to downtown..." without qualifying how. Walking? Jogging? Driving? From New Jersey i'm 10 minutes to downtown Pittsburgh - if flying in a SR-71. (2-hour TSA checkpoint times not included.)
Having grown up in Bridgeville, I am not sure I could ever live in Mount Lebanon and definitely not in Upper St. Clair--at least Mount Lebanon has fewer folks striving for white privilege. If I had to pick a more affluent community than Bridgeville in the South Hills (kind of hard to pick a less affluent one), I might go for Bethel Park or South Park. Shadyside might be fine for a central location or perhaps Bloomfield.

What's not being said here is why the homes are up for sale in Squirrel Hill is because the ground is shifting because of the weathering and erosion.

Castle Shannon still has access to the T but was more middle class and not competing with student housing.
