Fantastic interview! The gouache pans great! A friend shared some colors I didn't have in pans and they rewet better than other brands.

I loved the interview!! I am a beginner watercolor artist but I am a geek for scientific and in-depth information. Thank you. I appreciate everything you do.

Great interview! Thank you! I love Daniel Smith gouache in pans. The best to rewet and opacity. Schmincke horadam gouache rewets well too but it’s more transparent. I carry a pocket palette in my pochade box with a mix of the two brands (my favorite colors).

15:10... I've been searching how to use pill containers to make your ring LOL. Not having any luck but I'm having fun searching. I'm also imagining an Alexander McQueen brass knuckles type ring, but instead of brass knuckles there 's a big paint pallet worn over several fingers

Oh, hey, that's my old boss. I have very mixed feelings about seeing him again, but that's a great get for your channel!
I still have dreams about my time making paint for them. Running the mill was so cool... And the colors were incredible. I /just/ missed my chance for that sweet employee discount on the gouaches, to my regret. Ah well!!

@@je20-24I'm a COVID layoff. I get the realities of business and extraordinary circumstances, but I'm allowed to be a little bitter about it.

@@je20-24Do you think he was trying to address that, perhaps, with his side-by-side mineral and pigment jars?

Was anybody else wondering during the beginning of the video what on earth order had they followed for doing that swatch with weirdly mixed up hues of colours ?? OMG when I realized they were in ALPHABETICAL order. 😅 Sorry, I am so used to seeing swatches of you professional artists with nicely organized swatches in yellows, oranges, reds, violets, blues, greens and so forth, that it was blowing my mind. I really like how they have them organized to the right on the stand, I wonder why they chose to do the swatch that way? In the swatch they seem to have a lot of dark (browns and blacks) colours. Is it just my impression because of how they are organized? In the stand there seems to be more bright shiny colours. Can it be because they were painted over black and that makes them seem darker? Thanks, was interesting to watch the video.

He held up that granulation swatch and all I could think was I hate it haha! I can't stand single color gran 😂. Not disparaging ppl that like it- I know I'm the weirdo. It just reminds me so much of bad cellulose paper.

Haha you think its lonely in louisiana try being in a small town Indiana where they dont even do classes at the library.

The only reason they offer classes at the library is because I teach them  We gotta be the change we wanna see, right? I just wish others were more supportive of those pursuits. I feel ya though- it can be hard to find motivation sometimes when your only outlet for art is social media.

@@Nattosoup definitely, somebody had said I should ask if I could at the library but I haven’t been watercoloring very long not quite 2 years, I don’t feel quite qualified or confident enough yet, I mean I feel like I know all the language and technical stuff but I don’t feel that my paintings are very good yet. It would also depend on age groups and then you have to think about supplies for the students, it’s a lot of work to do on your own, if you had even one friend or a spouse to help I think that’d be enough to really get you going, I only have my 🐶 pup, my extended family hasn’t a clue about art and make me feel a little crazy cause I love to go on and on about pencils, paints, and paper. But I’m like if you don’t have kids or you’re not married in mid 30s you have to have something that you are passionate about. But if I did have kids I would think it’d be sooo fun to teach them art! At least we have teachers like you on RUclips, I mean the most basic thing as the importance of paper was never taught to me in high school.
