I ran several track loaders over the yrs. Spent about 3 seasons on a 977L in early 80's. Absolutely the smoothest, most comfortable, easy to operate machine I was ever on. FINE piece of machinery. Had a great whistling turbo on it too!
Very neat and fun to watch. Love watching the older Cat front Loaders with Engine in front, working thay just look like a front track Loader should look like.
this guy has done a good job.. All the experts coming on here saying he has to reverse in 2nd gear I say thats crap reversing in higher gears over short distances is just fucking the operator & machine & at the end of the day this guy will have more work done then the boy racer.. Good demonstration of how to push dirt with a 977 buddy...

Nice work, running in 2 or 3 is unnecessary wear and tear on the machine and the operators body. Daily operators over time adapt to a steady pace..
I prefer Komatsu D65. But still thanks for uploading the video. Nice sound. I guess in the 20 min video some 40 lt fuel was burned.

It has 3 forward and 3 reverse.
Try Second Gear for some Production !! Hit it !!! lol
977Ks &Ls are designed to run fast 2nd speed will do this guy thinks its a bulldozer at least reverse in 2nd nice sound to it never the less
