I own this camera ...I have for 6 months It’s awesome for photography and vlog ...one memory card is not an issue ...I’ve never had a card fail 4K is beautiful but honestly it’s DSLR not video camera It’s great in low light 51 focus points ...honestly if you can’t focus with 51 points give up photography serious It’s all about lenses It has the same sensor and same processor as the D500 .... This is really really good camera and honestly I’m getting awesome shots with it ..even landscapes with the tamron 10-24 VC HLD
Thanks for the in-depth review. I've had the D7500 for over a month now and I think it's an excellent cam for everything I use it for; a substantial improvement having come from a D7000. You said you can use your old manual focus lenses. The D7500 does not have the A1 indexing tab as was on the previous 7xxx series cam, so you'd have to use live view to judge exposure before taking a shot with those lenses.
Thanks for the clarification on the lenses. I have a couple of old manual focus AI Nikkors, but didn't try them out with the body. My fault! The dangers of speaking extemporaneously rather than doing proper research. -- Jim
I love this camera! I got mine for $800 and it works great! Edit: To the people who says you can't use a manual only lenses, no you can but you need to know how to use manual lenses. I use my 1950's and 1970's non ai lenses and it works great!
@@murph914 Are you using lens adapter? Not exactly sure what your problem is. I never put on Canon lens on my Nikon camera before so can't really tell you from experience.
Big Question, just bought the D7500 for videoing and I see that one can get a Atmos Ninja V monitor, plug a Nikon body directly into the monitor HDMI and get a “better” recording... but I’m not seeing that the D7500 is supported (yet) and if that better recording correct, technically?
Yes, via a V to F adapter. I've got one somewhere and have used it on full-frame Nikons before. You do need to set the CPU lens data (focal length/max aperture) via the menu as you do when using other non-AI lenses.
Why get D7500? ur downgrading and going backwards instead of forwards , u should be getting D7200 or D500, why buy a camera , all the best features are taken away from.
I just bought it! It’s FAST and ACCURATE, waaay better than D7200. I don’t care about battery grip/second memory slot. I had D7200, Not fast enough for sports/wildlife shooting and I never liked it’s ergonomics and the D500 is very big camera for my hands. This camera is awesome! Just try it..
Thats great mate, as long as your happy with your purchase. Thats why so many cameras out there, everyone looking for something that suits them. Cheers.
There's more info in our full review, worth reading before you spend $1,250 on the camera : www.pcmag.com/review/352984/nikon-d7500 We clocked it at 8.1fps in testing and the ISO can be set from 100 through 1638400.
D7500 or D500 if you like what you have now. Z 6 or D780 if you want full-frame. Fujifilm X-T4 if you're open to mirrorless/changing systems. We have both JPG and Raw crops from our ISO test scene (at every full-stop ISO supported by the D7500) in our full review : www.pcmag.com/review/352984/nikon-d7500
Yes. The D7500's HDMI port outputs a clean signal for use with an external recorder. You will still have to deal with the 1.5x crop when shooting 4K video to an external recorder.
Got it! One more question has come up, is the recording considered “raw” or “uncompressed” ie better than what is compressed (lossless) into the camera’s body? Might I expect better (more) bits that I can work with in FCPX and DaVinci, mainly for color correction?
@@TheGeoDaddy The output signal is uncompressed, 4K at 4:2:2 sampling. There is a flat profile available, so you should have more leverage for color correction, though the actual format of the recorded footage is up to the recorder. ProRes is still compressed, just more efficiently and with less loss than say in-camera H.264.
I have the camera for about 2 months and its a marvel. good quality. and the low light performance is crazzy. i use 17-50mm sigma 2.8f

Excellent review. First to mention that the 51 focus points cover the full viewfinder in 1.3 crop mode
I'm thinking about upgrading from my Nikon D3400 to the Nikon D7500. I know my kit lenses that came with the D3400 would work on the D7500.
Why is this video in such low resolution
PCMag recording videos on VHS camera?

Anick i tried my canon fd and it doesnt seem to work. Its like shooting through a wet sheet.

So you can use your cell as the monitor so you don’t have to look in the view finder?
Yes. You get the same view that would normally go on the camera's rear LCD on your phone screen via the Nikon SnapBridge app.
@@PCMag so shooting manual your still able to change the setting while looking at the cell screen?

I have a couple of Hasselblad lenses - but I don’t see if they can be manually attached and used (as they can with my old D7100)

Thx for the review. Why does the guy there keep asking questions of topics you've already covered? Battery, sensor, etc.
It's a live show-sometimes we go over information more than once. You'll find more detail in our full review : www.pcmag.com/review/352984/nikon-d7500
I'm buying the D7500 for my Nikkor 200-500mm super telephoto lens :)

Come on. Wake up. RUclips is processing.
I don't see the point of machine gun shooting.
Birds in flight. That's the point.
Or sports. Or literally anything moving fast.
