Eurovision is my passion. Eurovision was my work and I am still gladly part of the professional community of this project. I started at Eurovision 2016 as Czech Head of Delegation. Such a Eurovision story! Form Eurovision in Sweden I went to antoher ESC experience. Kiiv 2017 Eurovision. This was my first and last failiur. Sometimes you need to learn trough losing even it is not plasant. We ended up 13 in the semifinal, second best score of Eurovision Czechia back then. But after this we established ESCZ national selection format. It was mostly held online. Because of this we found Mikolas Josef who went 6th at Eurovision 2018 in Portugal. Than 11th with Lake Malawi, at Eurovision 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
Eurovision story is crazy. After finding all candidates and songs (-1) for ESCZ 2020 I resigned and left the television for working freelance.
Not to stop being part of Eurovision, I created this channel as I have an urge not to do just Eurovision Reactions from a different perspective. But also to do national selection reactions, watch others how they do their craft and also give a different approach for Eurovision fans.
I am very glad was part of many eurovision juries. Mostly in national selection and since 2017 I was in MGP Norway, Eurovision Malta, UMK national selection Finland. Juror in Melodifestivalen 2016. Biggest national selection. Also helped Eurovision Ireland, Eurovision Estonia, Eurovision Azerbaijan and many others.

Croatia is deep in my heart and they have an amazing song, but Israel, in light of the cruel period that has gone through and is still going through, when there are over 100 hostages still in captivity, hundreds who were murdered while dancing and rejoicing, when anti-Semitism is rampant in the world, it is time for Israel to shine and bring some sanity and joy to the country. Thank you Jan, i am an Israeli and you made me very emotional because i see the amount of hatred and toxicity from both people at home but much worse is from the artists themselves. The artists should have been the grown up people to set an example of love, hugs, to be at least polite and most of them are hateful, childish and bad example to people at home. It is so sad for me as a eurovision fan from Israel, i vote for a country and now i am afraid maybe they hate me too? This is insane. People should really stop and take a look of how they contributed to this atmosphere, no singer should suffer like Eden Golan. My personal fave? Estonia. I only hope they don't hate me...i voted for them on Thursday, now with all the hatred i see from many of the countries i don't know if to vote at all.

Possible winners might be Israel, France or Croatia and that would be amazing. But I wouldn"t be surprised at all if Ukraine gets the win (and becomes the first winner with start position 2) Have fun tonight everybody 😃

From the first moment I heard you in Aden Golan's video, I saw a serious and professional person, which is exactly what we are looking for when we send a song to Eurovision. May the audience you listen to be professional and not political. In any case, the audience's behavior is shocking and I feel sorry for 20-year-old Eden, whose whole future is ahead of her, receiving treatment that no singer in the world has ever received, and here it is in front of the whole world. Exactly Jan a wrong behaviour creates a reaction. And we saw this with Israël. The jury has sabotaged her ranked her15, a big shame. So we had a reaction : a huge voting from the public and she ended 5th place, well done Eden, she deserved it. Poor girl having to sing in such an hostile environment. I am happy for Nemo, an amazing artist, sang so well every time, I am sure we will hear much more from Nemo, a great boost for their career ❤💥💯🏆✨👋 My favourite Ukraine did very well came 3d. Bit surprised for Italy and some other countries like : Slovenia, Serbia and Lithuania, I expected better results for them. But nevertheless it was a great show, despite the 'booing' some times, I enjoyed 🎊

Marina was absolutelly disrespectful on the press conference, like no one before her. Bambie is openly anti-israel with the russian narative in. Joost also was very disrespectful on the press but than the statements are he was violent on a crew member of SVT during thursday night and that person went to the police to report it. So it has nothing to do with Israel. Just Joost himself.
Oh huh… I didn’t watch the presser. I just heard that Joost was officially dq. I hate when we are not told what actually happened and it’s now turned into a fertile ground for the conspiracists. Wonder if Bambi Thug will do something thuggish tonight?! And Marina surprises me since she’s been friendly with everyone. I don't watch Eurovision and I don't know which country took the second place last year but Ukraine took the first place because of war with Russia. Injustice for the country that took second place. Oh how I agree with every word U said. Music and only music should connect us, how we react, what we speak, could couse opposite of what we wont, to hurt or judge someone based on how he/she is dress or make a fool based on someone gender or anything else than voice and performance on this ESC is inappropriate and judgemental in every way.

After this year, Martin Oosterdahl and the hole EBU reference group should resign with immediate effect, this was an embarasing management of this ESC.
idk - do they take responsibility how individuals act? They actually dont. I can blame them to canceling juries in semifinals but this? when you have disrespectful artists on Eurovision stage supported by their public broadcasters? This is not a reason to resign. They are managing it actually well. Only incident occured and it was probably done by an artist.
@@JanBors The problem is, we dont know exactly what happen and this creates a lot of speculation around what really happen with Joost Klein, because he is innocent until prove and guilty and EBU should not make those decisions light hearted. Meanwhile we have journalists and contestents being publicly harrased on camara and bullyied by the Israel delegation and journalists, and EBU didnt take any action to take away their credentials. Double standards is annoying me and taking away all the fun we should have.
@@Rafael-br9dd If it involves the police, the situation has nothing to do with EBU or the contest anymore. It's down to Swedish law enforcement, and nothing can be done before the investigation concludes. It's sad but when in Sweden people have to uphold Swedish law. But I agree with you that we shouldn’t create any specilations and accusations before we know what happened exactly.

It is none of his fault. It is mainly the artists who came with a childish attitude, boycotted, behaved like cunts towards Eden and the Israeli delegation. They were the ones setting a bad example. They are the ones who should have been the first in line to come and hug and at least be polite. And they were the other way around. I have to say that Kaleen and Hera Bjork were amazing, so was Silia from Cyprus. But others should have shown a much mire adult approach.

It's very difficult to make an international competition apolitical.
if you truly want the competition to be more focused on music only - you would need to remove the national element from the candidates
this won't eliminate the problem but would minimize it very much
of course, this also takes out some of the fun of the entire thing, since the national aspect gives people something to rally around and feel like they're "being represented" in some sense.
i think even without the controversy of this year, the eurovision is ALWYS inherently political. it's enough to see how greece and cyprus always give each other 12 points REGARDLESS of the performance, or how the scandinavian bloc or the balkan bloc vote for eachother.
It never WAS "simply about the music".
you know what is truly apolitical? the spotify charts.
when gangnam style for example rose to #1 place - there was no political aspect for it - people simply enjoyed this south korean song all over the world. that was indeed an example of music uniting the world.
all that being said - i want to say i highly appreciate your balanced and relatively objective analysis of the whole contest.
of course, I was talking about it in my previous podcast. It is impossible to strip down politics out of it completely... but those are always brought by external factors, mostly by the people who always says how political it gets. But that reality of any huge event. We also should accept it.

It's really a topic worth to talk about: social media influence of the voting at ESC. It became so much about the artists and their fan community, how you can build up one prior the contest, how your promotion will be, how likeable you will be, or in this case how influential you will be politically. I think Croatia will win, and thats about right. My personal wish is Switzerland. My personal shock wish is Ireland. If Israel wins im done with this contest. The EBU shouldn't let them participate. It's pure war propaganda for Netanjahu and it's not fair in the eyes of russia and also doesn't the artist eden a favour who has to get all the hate. But how can the EBU ban a country from the contest who is main sponsor (moroccan oil)? Right, its all about money. not fairness, not united by music, not political correctness. its money. either way i think we have a total wrong voting system now that has nothing to do anymore with voting for a great song rather than making a political statement or vote for your queer hero or cause something else happend amongst contestants, or protests are happening etc. i really would like to go back to juryvote only.
