"Leaving what I have for the narrow road" is a works-based salvation verse. That narrow road in Matthew 7:13-14 is talking about salvation. Leaving what you have is a work that does not get you on that narrow road. The road is narrow and the gate is strait because salvation is specific. All Christ and nothing of us but faith. Doubting your salvation now, Ryan.

I can tell without a doubt that he is saved. I just spent a week with him at a church camp. got to hang out with him nearly everyday. what he's saying is that he's leaving his past in the past and giving up wordly things for because that's what God asked him to do.

Nathan Blackwell Okay, that's good. That narrow road in Matthew 7 is talking about salvation though which you have to give up nothing for.

Kbarnes83 you can't live in a life of sin and walk the narrow road. Thats not to say that you won't sin because we all do but if you walk the narrow road your life can't be full of sin ie partying, getting drunk etc. You have to be willing to give up anything that that's standing between you and God

Nathan Blackwell That's not true. I am not advocating for sin but I am saying that I can get drunk, commit adultery on my wife, murder babies and still die and go to heaven. I HAVE everlasting life. It's not based on my actions. Salvation is a FREE GIFT given to those who believe on Jesus Christ - God as a man. That's all. I have a desire and an ability to fight my sin now and I actually have a desire not to sin which before, did not exist. But me going to heaven is because of what Christ did for whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.

Nathan Blackwell Lukewarm? Are you quoting Revelation 2 which is talking about a CHURCH not an individual? Although I agree with what you're saying... However, when it comes to SALVATION AND BEING SAVED FROM HELL it's not based on ANYTHING I DO - It's all Jesus. It's either all Jesus or all YOU. You can't have it be works and grace. Read Romans 11:6.
