An hour or so of live metal detecting on the fields of Perthshire, Scotland with the XP DEUS 2 metal detector! #metaldetecting #treasurehunting #treasure #xpdeusii
Thanks so much for all the hours and hours of great videos, at my age (75) I am trying to play catch-up as you said you have posted over 500 doubt I’ll make it😅😂but will give it a damn good try. 🧚♀️🏴
Wish I could have seen this as you were out. I just want to let you know how much joy you bring to this so called old lady (76). I love watching you and always hope for a gold find for you. I really love you as a great man! Thanks for all the joy.
I wish I could wear my headphones by being a woman on my own, I just don’t feel safe 😊. I wear them on private property 😜 Great video as always. Hope you weren’t late 😂
You know you’re the only detectorist that l have ever seen and l do watch guys from all over world that has never fully dug a hole and left a target in the ground. I watched a guy dig what he said was approximately 16 inches down and nearly 18 inches in width and after all that he dug up an ancient sword. Most detectorist take every target good and bad as courtesy for the farmer for letting them use the fields.
I love your videos. They are very relaxing, and informative and i like your sense of humor too. Oh and the Scots accent is sooo nice to listen to! Thanks always for taking us with you! Hope you find a bonanza of great stuff! We will be watching!😂❤❤
Hello 👋. This is my first time ever trying to comment on anything. Love your show wish I could be there. Anyway great show and thanks. Kevin Smith from Covington Kentucky
Missed the live, but completely enjoyed the recording. It would be an epic event or two if you did a Willie Scott colab. He could show you how to dig your bottle dump, then 🤞 walk a field or two together. You both could record for your channels. just a thought. Cheers & thanks for the excellent entertainment. 👍 Pat~ Yukon
Please go over the give-and-take in receiving a permission. Do you share finds with the landowner? What happens if you happen to find something very valuable.
I always enjoy your "Laid back" Detecting Videos, I personally think that they are one of the best Detecting related Videos out there at the moment. There are way too many bad ones on RUclips, so it is very pleasing to see you keeping up the good work that you do. Well done John and I will look out for you at the RCM Rally, I am just coming on the Saturday.
Hi John , been using the Deus 2 now for about a week alongside the manticore, it’s interesting using the 2 machines it’s 50/50 on finds so far .. thinking the D2 and the manticore on air tests are equal , on pasture / plough the D2 has about 1-2 inch advantage 🤔
I love watching your detecting days, love seeing what you find, so much older than we detect in wee Tasmania. But this video I needed some seasick tablets. 😆👍
Sixpence is sometimes also called a bender because they used to be very thin and it was possible to bend it with your fingers. May be related to the term 'going on a bender', presumably because you could buy lots of alcohol with a sixpence at the time.
Sorry I missed this live stream on the Sunday John but it was a smashing video, a nice lot of finds for less than an hour and a half and your commentary for the duration was very professional from start to end I really enjoyed it, thank you.
Hi John Ciara from Belfast Love your Videos and the History you teach us about the things you find my Ancestors actually came from Scotland Keep up the good work😊😂
Speaking of the Treasure people …. you still owe us a video about Martin’s gold coin. Sorry I missed the live, but I can watch it now. Thank you. Willi Scott from Living the Skye life is a very knowledgeable bottle digger.
United Sates, Virginia here where three-ringer Civil War bullets and Indian Head Pennies are genuinely "old" and valued. If per chance we detect a coin that breaks into the 1700's a significant mile-stone has been reached. The coins you that you consider "old" in your country were generally crafted from stone over here. Given your cultural history and the value of reporting significant finds to the museum, it seems incredibly ironic that laws and public policies have been put in place that actively embolden and encourage lawless people *not* report. Your diligence in reporting your finds is commendable.
Hi John, missed your live video. Askin, how about the small bronze Celtic Oks head that Martin ore Pete found last year. Is there any outcome on that one about how old it is?
Blessings, my Scottish Detectorist friend, from this old man in Tennessee. Sadly, I missed the livestream, but I’m looking forward to some awesome finds.
Sorry I missed this John! I was having lunch and enjoying how cool it was outside (29'C on my patio in partly sunny Georgia). I did see your other video though, so cheers for today's two uploads! 👍
Props to you for juggling all that video/audio equipment in addition to all the metal detector paraphernalia. You must sometimes feel like the old fashioned one man band! Love your videos! Best from the state of Vermont 🇺🇸
Nice sunshine for you today, we have your weepy sky’s today. Hi John, I saw your short on the tours channel, unfortunately the channel itself hasn’t popped up yet.
A supportive wife for a metal detectorist is quite easy to achieve, bring them home some treasure that they want to put on their finger or around their neck, lo and behold your spouse is very supportive. Sometimes they want the costume jewelry and sometimes they want the chunky gold rings with the diamonds and sapphires, either way they tend to be supportive. Bronze axe heads are amazing but not something that she wants to see in your hands as you come home from a victorious day of digging.
I once found a Gorgeous 18k ring with i think 11 diamonds in it, the main one was close to 1/2 a carat. Yes, she was supportive for a time, but eventually threw me out and kept my ring. SO, lol that theory doesn't Always hold water. :-) But, i Still love er.

West Virginia!
Our detectors remove the iron signals whenever they can because they can mask other better targets.

I missed the live! Greetings from the Caribbean!
Great videos, thank you..
Could the little "cap" have been the old boot grommet that you had to lace with the hook tool?
Great video, missed the live show,
