what type of non dairy milk did you use? I've been partial to the silk ultra for the higher protein but always curious if there's a specific one for cooking that doesn't hinder the flavor. Also, where'd you get the knives you used?
@@rmart8827 I always use ripple unsweetened, it's the best milk I've found for just about everything. I honestly can't remember where I got this knife, my other knife is a Misen but it needs to be sharpened (as some viewers mentioned a couple videos back lol)
Just a heads up, elephant garlic is a different botanical species then normal garlic. It’s actually the bulb of a leek (Allium ampeloprasum) while normal garlic is Allium sativum. All this to simply point out that it’s generally quite a bit more mild than regular garlic, and thus the equivalent amount of garlic might be quite a bit more “spicy”, in the garlic sense of the word.
Thanks for the note! I’ll make sure to add that to the written recipe. The first time I made this it had about 4-5 cloves of normal garlic and tasted mostly the same so it should be fine with that much garlic 👍🏼
This came out delicious thank you! If anyone doesn't have mushroom seasoning you can use a bit of tamari/soy sauce for that umami flavor (i used 1/2 tbsp and no salt to balance it). I've made this twice now and it will be a permanent recipe in my book!
Look man...I don't say this to RUclipsrs but dude...I LOVE YOU! THANK YOU! I was literally talking to my bf about wanting vegan chicken pot pie 😭 thank you! You made my day :')
I just baked this and it's one of the best dishes I've ever made. I absolutely love how versatile it is. I used soy curls, a can of coconut milk, and 3 bags of frozen veggies and it turned out fantastic. It also baked surprisingly well in a loaf pan. Thanks so much for the delicious recipe! I will definitely be making this again.
I’m so happy to see a recipe where the puff pastry worked! I made a version of this exact dish a few months ago and the dough was totally raw still. I wonder if the egg wash really helps for sealing it. Looks fire! Hopefully a lot of ppl make this 👌🏻 highly recommend the tofurkey chicken for it as well. Also makes the BEST chicken noodle soup
We make chicken and dumplings. Very similar, except use some pulled bits of accidentally vegan biscuits in the sauce. Also, that puff pastry makes excellent pocket sandwiches. Ham and cheese, chocolate croissant, tofu scramble and potatoes. Cut the pastry into sixths to form the tops and bottoms and crimp together with a fork. Little greasy, but lotta yummy.
Made this for Easter and it was amazing!!! My husband hates celery so I used canned green beans and corn instead. This pie warmed my vegan soul ✌️🤤 so good.
I'm gonna try it! I love you fast food cookbook. I'm not a cook but have had success with your book. If this pie comes out proper I'll feel I've actually accomplished real cooking. Thank you.
OMG! I have been craving a vegan pot pie! I am so excited to try this. You made it look so easy too. Thank you! This will be dinner tomorrow night! 💖😊👍
OMG you read my mind! I was just thinking about not-chicken pot pie as a cold front blew in to Texas a couple days ago! Thank you will be making this weekend
This is a great recipe! I halfed it since I was using a 10" skillet. It is so savory! Thanks for the recipe. I've bookmarked a few others to try and well. I'd post pictures but I don't think I can
Delicious!! For the chicken I used tofu tossed in garlic powder, salt, pepper, olive oil, and cornstarch and then baked. It was so yummy even my definitely not vegan 95 year old Mom loved it. Only problem was I failed to take into account that salt and the salt in my mushroom seasoning so it was pretty salty. But I’ll making it again this week with that in mind. Definitely a comfort food keeper!
I made this today and it was delicious. I used lions mane mushrooms for the chicken because it on sale. And the puff pastry at my grocery store had butter in it so I used phyllo dough instead.
Tried it and I looooved it!!! Super good. I haven't had chicken pot pie since I stopped eating meat. Thabknyou so much for sharing your recipe with us. I highly recommend it!
This is the best from scratch pot pie I’ve ever made! So much better than using cream of mushroom/chicken AND it won’t destroy my stomach 10/10 this is going in my recipe book!
Nice! Yeah I think I might make it for my family this thanksgiving too! It's so easy and would pair great with some mashed potatoes and green bean casserole!
I would think a person could portion the mixture out to individual tins or small casseroles before cooking and then have smaller individual servings for lunches or other meals.
I keep buying those tiny $4 chik’n pot pies at my local Kroger’s and I’m so tired of wasting time and money going to the market and dealing with ppl and the store so now I’m just gonna Mel it myself. Thanks for the tutorial
For the pastry top. How many packages did you use? I noticed there were 12 pieces you cut, but there are 21 pieces, and the circle on the pie. So I'm a bit lost on how many packages of pastry puffs are needed. Please assist.
Omgoodness this looks so comforting! I haven't had a pot pie since I was a child. (Wasn't a huge fan of them (too much filling lol) ) But I'm So happy I came across your video so that now I can make my very own and vegan style too😍😍🤗🤗
Yay I just made this again for the 2nd time!! Your recipes are delicious. It only took me three hours lol but that's because I am extremely slow at doing things
@@TheeBurgerDude hmm sounds like I may have to do that. I thought about prepping the veggies the night before but making a big batch and freezing sounds much more convenient. Thanks again. I can't wait to try another of your recipes. They definitely do not disappoint 👌

Hey everyone! Hope you enjoyed this! Let me know what other Comfort Food Classics you'd like to see!
You know you have to do a classic cottage pie or a classic shepards pie, right?

This is kinda comfort but not really: vegan vanilla pudding 👀👀
"Go ahead and eat the whole thing yourself." Finally, I feel seen.
Validation is a beautiful thing.
😋
🤦♀️ definitely be struggling with that voice that tells me to eat the whole thing

I've been craving vegan chicken pot pie. I got a lot of good ideas from this recipe. Thank you!
This is absolutely AMAZING! A huge hit! I used leftover filling and pastry to make hand pies too - sooo good!
Awesome!!! Great idea!

It is, hands down the best vegan pie I have ever had. Thank you so much 💚
Minus the crust this seems very vegan fodmap friendly. SO STOKED TO TRY. Many thanks! 💚
Made this today. OMG, amazing. Definitely on do-again. I could not do fancy flowers, but still pretty. I added some veg I had on hand.

Wonderful idea for a xmas eve dinner

I used to grow elephant garlic, it was fun! The garlic is a lot milder than traditional garlic so go big with it!
Fun Fact: Elephant Garlic is actually a leek.
Woaaah! This looks incredible, and so simple!
I'll definitely be trying this sometime soon.

You always know how to make my life easier. I never thought to use pre made tofurky and puff pastry.

A good way to actually find those aromatics again: put them into an infuser or one of those empty tea bags that you can fill.
Made this this eve minus tofurky. I bought crusts and then looked for a recipe. Baybee! Delish!!

Vegan “chicken” is really seitan which is basically dough that has bene washed so all that is left is the protein.

I can't find any gluten free puff pastry near me (I have gluten intolerance), is it ok to use pie crust as a substitute?
Yes should be fine!

Thanks for the video! Do you think white miso would be an ok replacement for the mushroom seasoning?
Yes! Thanks!
Thank you
It would be nice if you also put the recipe in grams. A few of us use a scale for recipes. Thanks for the video. I'm going to try this one.
How about chicken cordon bleu, or beef wellington?
Heck ya!!!
babe wake up thee burger dude uploaded
What is I want to have crust at the bottom??? Any instructions???
I was today years old when I learned most puff pastry is vegan. We give thanks
Beautiful!
Oh I’ve been CRAVING chicken pot pie.
This is soooo good 😋
How'd the wash work out, besides looking great? Would you recommend Just Egg as-is(or watered down?) for anything else that would use a wash?
I used it straight from the bottle, it worked great!
