    I've known of Joyce Bryant for about 30 or 40 years now. In the early 80's when I was in high school, I was rummaging through the school library and came across a book called "Brown Sugar" by Donald Bogle. It gives history and pictures of black female entertainers from the mid 1800s to the late 70's.

    Several years ago I got the 8-song 78 "Runnin' Wild" as well as some assorted singles, but never had a way to transfer them. Finally I got a USB turntable that actually played 78s and was able to convert all of the songs I had (11 in all) to digital data.

    Joyce is backed on "Drunk With Love" by a 35-piece orchestra playing a Phil Moore arrangement.

    • @jeriwingo2020
      @jeriwingo2020 4 года назад +2

      Phil Moore was the Best! He taught stage presence and everything needed to put on a show. He coached Dorothy Dandridge and I'm pretty sure Lena Horne too. He helped them get on the Sunset Strip, which blew their careers up but hurt Central Avenue.

      Yeza Music, two different songs with similar titles. “Drunk With Love” is a vocal jazz standard from decades ago. Beyoncé’s “Drunk in Love” was written for Beyoncé’s 2013 self-titled album.
