  • A Luminex assay is a type of bead immunoassay that precisely measures multiple analytes in one sample
    Color-coded microspheres, or beads, are internally dyed with different proportions of red and infrared fluorophores that correspond to a distinct spectral signature, or bead region.

    Can anyone give a better explanation of precisely how multiple analytes can be measured. Why are the beads differently colored? Are you saying that you use a different color bead per analyte and couple them in their own individual reactions? Then is each bead set run through the cytometer separately. I can't understand the purpose of having multiple colors of beads
