"Here's the terrifying truth about what happens when your engine dies while you are flying" -- let me guess... you land next to your car and drive home?
These flying tea bags are at home in the sub-sub-sub-sub sonic speed range. That means you fly for 20 minutes and you are only 500m away from your starting position. So yeah, I guess you are right. 😂👍
Instantly saw that there was plenty of flat land around to conduct a forced landing. It also looks cold so the nice dense air would’ve given you a lot of aerodynamic performance (glide distance) to find the best spot to set it down. This was barely an issue at all.
This should be an educational emergency landing for that craft, it didn’t even look like an emergency landing. Your jeep was right there,It was smooth it was beautiful you stayed calm well done.
LOL. as an actual pilot, i fucking died reading this losing an engine in the air is no shit no matter what you're in. but try losing an engine on your seneca when your 400agl taking off at midnight with no moonlight and 6000ft of woods ahead of you. Luckily, senecas are twins

Not so much nerves of steel as something far more vital. TRAINING. Practice. This should be kind of boring in your head. And for this guy, yeah. He had it down pat. This is someone who was prepared. So that means they also had good teachers who took it all very seriously.
Given the glide characteristics of that particular type of aircraft, the stall speed and the terrain why was it 'terrifying'. Surely any pilot should train for such incidents.

When you land 50 feet from your car for an easy drive home......That's a good emergency landing. He didn't just walk away. He drove away. Nice job!!

Guy must be an efficiency expert 😄
"Any landing you drive away from is a good landing".
Under a deployed para sail, softly glides down and stops 50ft from the truck. More like "watch this" than anything.
Yeah... my thoughts exactly... Nothing terrifying here.
I think the mark of a truly great pilot is being able to understand his rate of descent and know exactly where he can and cannot land.
It´s like parking a car in between two others, a matter of practice
This shows why initial training on a glider makes better pilots.

Come on dude.
Only terrifying if you’re not keeping an emergency contingency on the back of your mind during normal operation. Luck always goes to the prepared.

With the conditions I would hazard a guess at carb ice.
Beautiful control
Job #1 Fly the aircraft. Job #2 Stay calm. 10/10 on both!
Super scary moments! I can't believe you survived and even landed next to your vehicle.
Sounds like the turbo encabulator iced over.
Wow, the most convenient place to have an engine out.
“Need me to hold your beer..?”
“Nope, going to my jeep for another one.”
Theres something about seeing what 1,000 ft up looks like...especially if youve ever worked 1,000+ feet below.
Gently floating down under an open parachute is truly terrifying.
This is the terrifying truth, a soft gentle landing?

An 'engine out' isn't REALLY dangerous if you're flying safely, it's A controllable PARACHUTE ✌️
That is why I love a Paraplane. Engine dies. No panic. Just pick a landing spot and enjoy the easy ride down.
Good job and so calm!

They can be dangerous . One of the producers died flying one during the making of the Mad Max sequel The Road Warrior .
Great effort. I've had three in fixed wings. Great to keep the bowels working.
OMG!! The horror, the terror, the unbridled fear of it all!! Oh...wait a second, I have have a perfectly good wing (parachute) above me :-)

Safer then breaking down on the M25

This looks like Meadow Lake Airport.
Quick pull your parachute,,, oh yeah, that's right 🤣
That wasn’t unexpected. I’d say engine out practice.
I would be killing my motor every flight!😂 beautiful!
1000 feet...should just have time to climb back and change out the spark plug...
Appeared to be a normal landing. Don’t they always turn the engine off when they land one of those things? Good landing for sure, but emergency, no.
He was never in danger ignore him
Now, if it happened over Manhattan.......
Still a good video, nice recovery glide to the jeep.
Someone only put $5 worth of fuel in it.
Hey You Down Below ! I have had an engine failure in my parachute powered wind machine machine. Danger is my business
What, stayed with the craft for a safe landing?, definitely not from the Trevor Jacob school of engine failure bail outs! lol.
