  • An explosive action film starring Academy Award winner Sean Connery
    An influential diplomat is the target of assassination attempts after he announces his plan to make a Middle East peace deal.
    1976 American action thriller of geopolitical intrigue and romance directed by Richard C. Sarafian, delving into the complex world of international diplomacy and the challenges faced by those striving for peace.
    A high-profile Arab diplomat, portrayed by the legendary Sean Connery, finds himself in the crosshairs of assassination after announcing a groundbreaking peace deal with Israel. This daring initiative, aiming to incorporate Israel into the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (O.P.E.C.), sets off a perilous journey of survival and diplomacy. Connery's character, with his deep commitment to peace in the Middle East, navigates the treacherous waters of international relations, making powerful enemies and unlikely allies.
    Sean Connery is perhaps most famously known for being the first actor to portray the character James Bond in the film series, starting with Dr. No in 1962. His portrayal of James Bond was instrumental in popularizing the franchise, with Connery's performance setting the standard for the character's suave and sophisticated demeanor. Over his career, he appeared in seven Bond films, including Goldfinger (1964) and Diamonds Are Forever (1971).
    Beyond his role as James Bond, Connery's career was marked by a wide range of roles that showcased his versatility as an actor. He received critical acclaim and several awards for his work, including an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables (1987). Other notable films include The Hunt for Red October (1990), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), and The Rock (1996).
    Sean Connery's contributions to cinema were recognized with numerous awards and honors, including a knighthood by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to film drama. He was known not just for his acting talents but also for his distinctive Scottish accent and charismatic presence both on and off the screen.

    So glad you posted the remastered version, with the restored sections The original theatrical release was mangled by small cuts, 17 minutes of them, and panned by critics. Even the restored version is not really a great film...but it is a very well made political and social drama, like SYRIANA. And so pertinent to today’s world. Should be watched for that reason alone. Made in 1975 and released a year later, it predates the Camp David accords. Sean Connery plays a great Arab, like he did in Wind and the Lion (I know, that character was a Berber). Cornelia Sharpe is exquisite. If you blink a few times, you imagine we are in Bond territory again, especially when they go to the Bahamas. It even has Adolpho Celi as a heavy. Highly recommend as an example of 70’s risk taking in film making!

    There is a whole different sense of time and space that is present in movies from the 70's and early 80's that I really appreciate. It lends a more expansive 'presence of mind' to the viewer and makes me feel like I remember myself back in those days. Very good film. I found myself wishing that the video was not so soft, but still really enjoyed it.
    Thank you.

    Excellent film. Reminds me of "Day of the Jackal." Interesting how this 1976 film discusses so many of the globalist issues that are still relevant today. The "King Kong" film clip was a very clever and interesting foreshadowing of the inevitable conclusion as also predicted by the movie title, "The Next Man" - we just didn't know when and where it would happen until the final minutes - it was beauty that killed the beast.

    Proverbs 5:3-13 For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
    But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
    Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.
    Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.
    Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
    Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:
    Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel:
    Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
    And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
    And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
    And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!

    The relentless labyrinth of Power and Greed and those who pull the strings, sending others to do their dirty work......almost wooden, in their dissociation from their acts.
    Persian Sean is well-cast... and yeah, as you can see with the attractive Hit-Lady.....in the end, they Hit her too.
    So, the message is, the more you know and do, the more of a threat you become.
    In the end, an Expendable.
    The shadowy ones at the top, must never be seen.
    No loose ends.
    ===
    The whole thing is an exercise in uselessness, with money as the driving force.
    Puppets on a Stage, all.
    Dupes of devils.
    ....and the devils snicker and sneer,
    at how easy it is to beguile humans with Money and destroy them all.
    Whilst chewing on their bloody Popcorn.

    Not one of his better movies rather on the contrary + the film is supposed to be "remastered" a term you use for music CD's etc not films and the filmquality is nothing else than totally lousy imagewise + bad bad noisy sound, not recommended at all!

    Proverbs 7:24-27 Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth.
    Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.
    For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.
    Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

    Ouvi uma história que o Sean Connery incorporou o Agente Secreto 007 tanto , que começou a afetar o seu psicológico
    Podem ver neste filme que ele se libertou do estereótipo do 007 ( olhem a calvice) a barba
    , querendo ser outro personagem como no filme ZARDOX , filme intrigante também......😊

    Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam ."
    Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
    Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window ? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
    Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
    Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."

    Whatever name and fame has been earned by James Bond 007, can the British politicians earn that name and fame? Never. James Bond entertained the people of the world but present British politicians who are most hated clowns of the world, worked for their benefits only. The EU politics is full of clowns. When I hear MEP Clare Daly and Mick Wallace, I feel pity for the people of Europe and America.

    A blast from the past! Sean was very convincing as Saudi minister. The minister in real life might have studied at Oxford, or such. Thus his accent would been Brittish. This story ties in with present times as Palistinian/Hamas and Houtis terrorize the middle east.
