This movie was considered a total flop back over 40 years ago. Honestly, it is very good action film as compared to all today Marvel and Superheroes trash. I will watch it again with great deal of pleasure. RIP good sir Roger!!
I remember watching this movie with my dad when i was a child. "Don't tell mom i've let you stay up that late." Since this day i always had a warm feeling when i saw this movie. Later that year a cat on a nearby farm had kittens ... guess how many we took and how we named them. Thank you, dad. We miss you.
Great movie. I had to watch it here though I own the DVD and saw it many times. Great actors, great story and a hilariously pc-incorrect Roger Moore. No love for humans only for cats. The stitching makes it perfect. Thanks for posting.
My Mum took me to see this at the cinema when it came out. Roger is basically James Bond and The Saint the whole time - His eyebrow acting in full effect.
Thanks for posting, I watch this one regularly on DVD. A highly underrated movie, fantastic acting from all cast and in particular the late great RGM. Along with The Wild Geese its a classic example of Moore’s acting outside of Bond, this really is a classic good old fashioned movie that I’m so glad they made. Thanks again👍
I have never heard such a load of negative comments on one film, this was made in the 80’s, it’s of it’s time, and certainly no worse than many films made at the time, if you don’t like it, why are you here ?, speaking personally this is better than some of Roger’s Bond Films, and definitely no worse than a lot of American films of the time.
Actually Julie there are loads of positive comments - but these seem to be from dyed-in-the-wool Roger Moore fans. Personally, I thought he was great as James Bond, but this film stinks. Sorry.
Several actors and crew members of this movie worked in the James Bond film franchise. This movie starred Roger Moore, who played Bond in the 1970s and 1980s; David Hedison, who played Felix Leiter in Live and Let Die (1973) and Licence to Kill (1989); and George Baker, who worked on On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969) and The Spy Who Loved Me (1977). The common crew included special effects technicians John Morris and John Richardson and stuntmen Martin Grace, Richard Graydon, and George Leech.
Roger Moore typecast as a bearded, eccentric, arrogant, cat-loving, chauvinist with master strategist skills who does needlepoint embroidery and drinks scotch whisky immoderately😂
Roger Moore stood up in a very exclusive restaurant and said: "How disgusting it is to 'force feed' ducks in cages that they can't even move in!" - a REAL HERO! ❤

So many critics of this excellent English film. I thoroughly enjoyed it. James Mason, Roger Moore, Anthony Perkins.... wow! Moore at age 18 married his first wife and he suffered domestic abuse by her. His second wife was just as bad when she smashed a flowerpot on his head threw bricks at him, and smashed windows of his European house. His third marriage produced three children. His fourth marriage was his best, but his wife died from cancer at 47 while Moore struggled with prostate cancer, he died from cancer of the lungs and liver at age 89. All the bullshit that Moore was gay is false. RIP Roger Moore, James Mason, Anthony Perkins
I love Roger Moore, ever since I watched him in the Saint. I watched him as 007 as well, but I still like Simon Templer better. He plays this character very well very enjoyable movie. Thank you for posting. I absolutely love the ending, those kittens were so cute.

It's saddening to see James Mason trying to make the best of his role, but the only function of this half-wit admiral is to not understand what Roger Moore's hero is aiming at. What a waste of talent😢

Roger Moore is the only one cracking jokes and the others have no witty lines at all, so I guess it's a serious movie where someone tried to be funny by ad libbing. And yes, johnt, James Mason should have declined the part of the half-wit admiral, but fortunately he hasn't. Maybe because James gets to be driven around in an Austin Princess by a stunning female driver😁
Anybody got any thoughts on how Kramer planned on getting away if the money was delivered? Surely an accomplice, but then wouldn’t the navy had set up a blockade? Maybe a helicopter, but again an air no-fly zone would have been set up, surely? Maybe a submarine, but that would have been incredible. A speedboat in one of the containers??? There must have been some logical plan? He may have taken the detonator on the escape, to deter any attempt to follow whilst he and his team reached some remote spot. Or taken hostages, again on some kind of outboard/speedboat?
Only one thing to - nag - about. Would it be the style of Roger Moore, never mind which or what role he played, to drink out from a bottle? I would expect that he is ALWAYS - prepared- and gets out a glas or somethign out of this sort from his bag?
