    Oh I love Roche harbor!

Me too! I try to get over there a few times every summer and once or twice in the winter. It can’t believe such a cool place is so close by, hoping to someday visit there for more than a few hours someday 😊

Great trip. Flying and touring. Thanks for sharing. A place we need to get to.

With COVID restrictions being relaxed, we will soon be able to travel back into the USA without testing etc. We hope it will be a great spring/summer to visit some of favorite spots in the Pacific Northwest.

Another nice video... I appreciate the stuff you do--a great alternative to everything going on in the world right now.

Many thanks, appreciate your feedback and thanks for being a regular support! It’s been raining a lot here but the flying continues to provide a welcome distraction to everything.

I flew there in a 172 on the Fourth of July in 2001 (I believe). We left from Boeing Field/South King Co. Airport, landed & had dinner, watched the fireworks, then back home. I was only there that one time but it was amazingly cool.

Wow, you are so lucky you could get in to a restaurant, the 4th is impossibly busy with all the vessels in the harbor and day tourists from Friday Harbor. My wife and I tried it once and gave up, flew over to Orcas instead, I guess that’s another example of the utility of aircraft. Thanks for watching and welcome to Ginger’s channel 👍✈️🍀

@@GingerThePlane Oh wow. I didn't even know the place existed. With what you said, the reason I probably got in no problem is because I went as an "honorany " member of a flying club based out of Boeing Field whom I'm sure had their trip planned/reserved way in advance. I was a last minute add on. Just as I was getting ready to land I spotted a deer on the runway so I did a go around but it startled me as I never saw one before on the actual runway.
I don't know if you are a CFI but you'd make a great instructor with your calm demeanor. I learned in NJ so..... And thank you for the welcome to your channel, cheers my friend!

4:15 I see you can pay online now. That's good to know. I've been wanting to fly up to Roche Harbor for years, and I'm finally hoping to do that this summer.

Do it, 100% worth the journey! Parking is up in the grass (chock your gear), 10 min walk to town, if time allows hike up to the John S. McMillin Memorial Mausoleum (hidden gem). Thanks for watching!

Thank-you for another awesome travelog from the PNW. Your videos allow me to travel outside of my current life, to a life that I once had. I only wish that I had a way to convey how much your videos help me through the ending.

Thank you, Bob! I’m glad to know you’re finding these interesting, I was thinking of you when I decided to feature Roche Harbor. I truly wish it were possible to take you on a flight someday! Be well my friend 👍

@@GingerThePlane I looked at rail/bus prices to Bellingham as well as hotels in the area. This could be doable. I would need a full rescue inhaler and my portable oxygen concentrator. Does Ginger have a "cigarette lighter" style receptacle? My oxygen machine can use those, besides the 110 AC.

@@HugoHugunin Ginger has a cigarette power port, a small e-cylinder of Oxygen may be easier. I’m a respiratory therapist, we can figure it out. I can come to Salem and we can fly there if that’s an easier option for you.
