- Conditions were so good and I got so much quality video on this run that I decided to make a longer edit than usual. Thanks to Nate Herbeck, Alex Alexiedes, and Josh Armagost for joining me for this gorgeous June Truss lap!
Interrupting the mostly uneventful descent was a first for me in 29 years of whitewater kayaking--having my helmet ripped off mid-rapid. The once-in-a-lifetime footage from my helmet's perspective as it leaves my head and rotates through the air is surreal and fascinating but not to be repeated. Keep those helmet straps tight, ladies and gentlemen!
On Upper Zig Zag I had too much right angle on the second hit and got unexpectedly diverted into the eddy on the right. Not an ideal line, but since I caught the eddy facing upstream it was no big deal to peal out and keep going. Upper Zig Zag has changed multiple times since I started running it in 2001, and this incarnation is about as difficult as it has ever been.
Classic BZ rolling the dice!
Thanks for sharing this stunning footage!
@@Mirko_SanSan you’re welcome! Thanks for the kind words!
Great video. Thanks for the comments giving rapid names. And thanks for the great BZ footage. I've run it at low water in the fall and thought is was a piece of cake. Obviously not so at higher flows!
Ain't that the Truth! Thanks for the kind words, brother.
Great run Brooks!
Thanks, Man!
Nice footage!
@@big1dog23 thanks, buddy!
Making it look easier then it really is, kinda your M.O.
