Performance cars almost always come with compromises, but that's not what a dealer or any manufacturers will tell you. Every car they make is perfect according to them. In reality, that's not the case at all, especially when you get into the high-end supercar category. With that in mind, in this video I share the 5 most annoying thing about my Lamborghini Huracan Performante that you wouldn't know unless you've lived with one. They're not deal breakers, because the car as a whole is incredible, but there are certain things that make you question certain decisions made by Lamborghini. Did I miss anything?

Just to be clear, because I think some people just read the title and make their judgment from there, the car as a whole is amazing! The point of this video is simply to point out certain annoying problems, some more significant than others, about this car, all of which I think are pretty fair criticisms considering the cost of the vehicle and when compared to other vehicles in the same class that don't have the same issues. I did my best to present these issues in a somewhat comedic way, but also explain why they're real problems. Part of what makes a supercar fun and exciting is the absurdity of it all, I'm just pointing out some of the flaws on this particular car that aren't often talked about. Thanks for watching!
If you consider that complaints about Lambos back in the days were that the fucking AC never works and the clutch burns out after 30k miles, I guess it’s a good sign that the only complaints we have nowadays are something like "you can’t use the Infotainment system when you’re in Track Mode“. Now just take a moment to realize the absurdity of this sentence 😂. Just shows how the company has grown 💪🏻

A friend of mine has a Performante, and does NOT have the front lift nor the cup holder
We don't really care about cup holders here in Italy as much as Canadians and Americans do, but the front lift is essential since lots of our roads are in terribile conditions

I agree with you on the cup holder but to be honest I am terrified of spilling anything in my car so I would never put coffee in my Performante. You have the comfort seat so that exacerbates the visibility issue at 6 feet. Sports buckets helps. Love the video 👍
You're 100% right about the seats. The carbon buckets definitely improve the seating position significantly!

If I’m not mistaken, the new Huracán EVO lets you customize your driving experience. Might be worth checking into if you haven’t already. And it looks amazing!

Sport Mode: NAH!
Cup Holder Mode: YES!
I drove a Huracan, and with the seat all the way back and all the way down, my head STILL needed to be tilted to fit in the car. The whole 7-8 minutes that I drove it, it was rather uncomfortable. I am exactly 6 feet tall. I loved driving it, but I could never own one I don’t think. (Aside from the affordability issue. I drove it for my birthday 😂😂😂)
Great camera angles and great insight into Lamborghini ownership! Drove my first Huracan a couple weeks back and it motivated me to keep going to work towards getting one!

4:49 I have a Performante too. When at a light and you lose visibility of the lamp in front of you simply look to your right or your left catty-corner to see the other signal lights. 6:30 Corsa is only good for canyons or track and the DCT shifts like an Aventador SCT in that mode (jerky). I prefer Sport Mode for street and sometimes I think it's better in the canyons too due to the responsiveness of the DCT in that mode. Takes hairpins and corkscrews amazing at the limit without kicking out the rear. On Rails! 8:58 I agree with you on the lift system. Too many times coming out of parking lots or turning in and having to hit the switch in a hurry only to have to put on my hazards to let the driver behind me know my car's a little princess and has to have special time to lift her face to get in or out of low slung driveways. I have had cars nearly rear end me because of having to slow down and damn near stop to raised the front nose.
These question are sorta offtopic, and maybe would be best displayed in a video but I'm gonna ask anyways haha:
1. What options/specifications do you deem essential w/ a huracan? I'm aware this is a perfomante so maybe it comes with things that the standard wouldn't, but still
2. Does the performante come with the equivalent of the race exhaust on the normal huracan?
3. Is the sensonum sound system worth it?
4. Lastly, do any lambo dealerships allow you to do these options upgrades after the fact? Purpose I bought a used 610-4 with the stock exhaust but was dying for the race exhaust (the factory one), is that even possible or do I have to go aftermarket to get one like it? A similar question would be if I wanted to get that upgraded sound system after the fact, is that an upgrade offered?

Great video. Would never have known these issues otherwise. "very prestigious cup holder option." Heh, tru dat! Sounds like you'd benefit from a more daily-driver supercar. Would love your thoughts on the new 911 Turbo S or, even better, a C8 Corvette when you get a chance to test drive them. Both cars, I'm certain, solves every one these issues with even more better working features without compromising the kind of performance that you're getting from the Lambo (albeit they don't provide as raw or exhilarating an experience).
Love the forward looking camera.
To make it easier to see the light, stop farther back from the intersection/limit line. "I wish I was a little bit shorter....."LOL
Totally agreed on suspension mode......should be softer on street, and from a performance perspective too. Tires are cold.....lower grip. Softer, more compliant suspension with some roll will give better cornering ability.
I guess I could've clarified that in the video, but you'd have to stop almost 3 car lengths before the line to be able to see the lights without any awkward neck manoeuvres. When the windshield is mounted at such a harsh angle with a low roof line, you just have to deal with it.
@@carproblems8547 Yeah, probably would. Cars behind may not be very happy but they can go around. Maybe stop a little over car length back so you don't have to strain so hard.
One bad driving habit I noticed with forward camera......hold a 3 second following margin. You can close the gap so fast in that car anyway!!!!
@@carproblems8547 That's the car I want to see at Mosport with its horsepower and aero with that forward facing camera. Put Nitto NT01's on it, roll bar and Schroth six points. I want to see you passing GT3RSs!!!!!

Great video. Nice work. My brother owns an R8 (2015) which I used for a few weeks. And these problems certainly frustrate the life out of you over time.
I have the same issue with lights in my Porsche and my solution is to stop just a little bit further back from the light and I can see it just fine.
Thank you for the information! I am considering this car but am seeing how beneficial the bumpy road button on a 430 Scuderia/458 or 488 Spider would be (other cars I am considering) rather than being stuck with such harsh suspension settings in the Performante.

The Aventador has the add on cup holders that you could put in or take out and they worked pretty good as long as you don’t do launch mode, etc.. but you make a good point with it.

2:45 - The cup holder is not part of a convenience package or anything of that sort. It's part of the travel/smoker's package which includes an ashtray and the cup holder. It costs ~$700 USD.
Exact same cup holder in my 2020 EVO. Much better in the SVJ though. Even got a glovebox for $1,800
What suction mount are you using for your camera? It looks crazy.

The most annoying thing about my Lambo is that it's just a second hand car I bought for a few thousand bucks and isn't a Lambo.

Evo driving modes are the same. I drive my EVO around in sport mode most of the time so I have the better suspension but you’re correct Sport does not have the aggressive shifts
The mode you’re looking for is EGO mode and it’s only available on some Aventador‘s
And infotainment is much much better on the Evo but I have the standard radio and it sounds atrocious. I didn’t buy it for the radio but Spending that kind of money toy would think it would have a decent radio. And the upgrade radio doesn’t sound much better

I hate that I spent 2x as much for my SVJ roadster and my EVO is way more advanced and faster. Just for the doors to go up and a little more room🤑 Does have EGO mode though. lol

Better than the 2016 Aventador I owned without a cup holder or any compartment other than a small box behind your seat. Phone and wallet had to go there or is was surely ending up under the seat... but Lamborghini is incredible and we don’t buy them to hold your bottle of water or luggage (Aventador roadster) lol beautiful Performante BTW!

Sounds like the cupholders in my Porsche. They might be a litter better than yours but they're also too shallow so you end up with the same problem! Only bring drinks with a lid so it defeats the purpose, might as well put the water next to my seat belt.

Does the huracan perfermante come in auto shifting or manual?
I guess the point for lambo not allowing apple car play in corsa is you are not allowed to have this distractions when in this mode since its the "race" mode of the car. And of course for obvious reasons you are not eexpected to get a phone call thats why you change modes to access said apple csr play or phone call
What you're saying makes sense in that a "race mode" should disable anything that could be a distraction, but they didn't do that. Instead of programming the ability to simply press a button to answer a phone call while in 1 of 3 driving modes, you instead have to make 5 inputs to answer the phone. What they should have done, and I think this would be much cooler, is have Race mode completely disable apple car play, turn off the radio and have the focus be purely on driving. Instead it's just a massive distraction when you get a random call. You also wouldn't have your phone plugged in for a phone call if you were on a race track. Everything works fine, it's just way more complicated than it should be.

That's the exact same cup holder mechanism from 2001 Audi's
I imagine the lift is slow as hell because they keep the mechanism small to manage the weight, so it's woefully underpowered. That sux, but tradeoffs must be made, I guess.
I suppose that would be a valid argument if the car was super light, but it isn't. Other cars from competing brands in the same performance category, weigh less and have faster front lifts.
@@carproblems8547 Exactly. Lambos are already fat pigs to begin with, and and even though the Performante is quite good, handling wise it's still not the same as a competing Ferrari, though I'd take a Lambo any day over Ferrari.

I don't think the complaint about the suspension and corsa mode is valid, corsa is mean for track, suspension has to be stiff for grip reasons etc etc, sport mode is for road. So it's logical to not answer your phone while in a "track" mode.
Sure, but every other car with a track/race mode, which is most performance cars these days, do not require you to flip out of a driving mode to use features that are built into the car. If anything, I think the they should have made Corsa mode disable the entire infotainment while active. That would have been cool!

Sometimes you just need a low profile performance car. As great as the Huracan is, it misses some essential features that normal cars have.

Ferrari 458 has a “bumpy road” mode that can be used in Race mode 😊
The CarPlay thing is kinda on you. Corsa, as the name itself suggests, is meant for the track; and you don’t need CarPlay in front of you while tracking the car.
The lift taking so long would make me rage. There’s a speedbump every 500-700m in my city, except for the main arteries, which are usually bumper to bumper traffic.
Everything else seems like small annoyances that are easy to live with.

I used a water bottle as an example, mainly because I think it's one of the most common things people take with them in the car, but if you put a standard coffee cup in there, you'd have the same result, except with coffee everywhere...
