I knew Cpl Parcell, she was attached to my unit in Iraq as a lioness when she was killed in the suicide blast which also took the life of our SgtMaj and one of our interpreters. The blast also killed an Iraqi Police Officer and one civilian. I spoke with her almost every day she was with us in the course of our duties. She was attached to my squad (Joker 1-2) as one of our lionesses while we were on ECP guard. I was there that day, she died doing what we as men couldn't, searching females. Sgt. Maj. Ellis was also killed that day, and many more wounded. They were both good Marines doing what they loved. RIP CPL. Parcell, your watch has ended, stand easy.
Dane Bell thank you for your service, my brother also so served. He was a Pvt. In the Army deployed in Afghanistan. He lost a lot of buddies so he knows what your going through. If this isn't too personal, what was it like in Pakistan
I will never forget her. Ever. I was in the logistics school with her. I was 25 and she was only 19 but wanted to go someplace for Easter. So we went together. We became friends. I will never forget landing in Iraq and she was one of the first people I saw on the airfield and told me she was about to go out into the province. We hugged and I prayed with her. My buddy who was the chaplain's RP saw her and was there when she passed. I was grateful to have known her.
Wow...she arrived right after I left. That was a hot time in Anbar. It took real guts to volunteer to go outside the wire - I never did. I've got all the respect in the world for female Marines and I'm so glad that they're finally getting the full respect of the rest of the world, proving themselves time and again under fire to be no better friend and no worse enemy than any other Marine. Semper Fi
I am a 60 something Marine from another era, sitting in front of my computer screen at 7 am crying like a baby. A truly nice video about a lovely young Marine. I know words mean nothing but to Corp. Parcell " Rest in Peace Marine, Semper Fi".
146rwj I’m a 47 year old Marine Veteran, and i’m watching this with tears in my eyes. God speed Marine, Semper Fi and thank you for your sacrifice. You are loved.
As a "60 Something" Squid, I feel the same loss & the same tears. I was privileged to serve aboard Ship with a fine, fine bunch of Jarheads that I remember only with kindness and fond respect. No matter the uniform, it is only right and proper to shed tears for the loss of such a fine member of our Military Community. Service rivalries aside, we all served under the same Colors & that makes us Kinfolk

Cpl Parcell was the embodiment the Marine Corps motto of Semper Fidelis. She makes me proud to know she served my beloved Corps in the way she did. I salute you, and God bless you and your family.
I hope and pray people watch this story of a fellow Marine and realize the sacrifices these individuals make for their country. We are not super heroes, but common people willing to do what the majority of the public will not do because it is the right. Just because we might be soldiers, sailors, or Marines it does not mean we are not human beings first. We are simply ordinary people willing to do extraordinary things. Semper Fi Marine. You are the epitome of what makes this country great and I am glad I got to see your story. God Bless!
Thank you Cpl. Parcell for the great sacrifice that you made for our great country. Your commitment to the cause of freedom has not been wasted. Thank you
Former Navy CT, here. I served with the Navy, Marines, Army, and Coast Guard, and consider them all my brothers and sisters; it takes a piece of my soul every time I hear of one of them passing (and they're welcome to that piece...we earned it together). The fact that this young woman, this young Marine, touched so many lives, so many of whom have posted here, is a testament to who she was, and in keeping with the highest standards I've come to expect of the United States Marine Corps. Semper fi.
Wow I look up to her. I'm shipping off in a few months to boot camp, I'll keep her in mind through training. This is what I strive to be. Her attitude, her outlook on life, her values. What a role model.
This is one of the good things that social media, and things like youtube does. It marks these memories, and lets people know that "casualty" is not just a number. We won't for get the sacrifice.
She was attached to my unit while we were in Iraq. I was a Navy Corpsman and she was my first casualty that ran to after the suicide bomber. I never forget what i told her while trying to help her and feel that I let her down. I still remember her face and wish there was more I could do to save her. God bless her and her family.
We were in blue diamond when this happened. We will remember your sacrifice and continue to honor your memory. There was an old war dog that spoke of her that day, what he said has always stuck with us. Marines don't die we just move on to our next duty station. Till we meet again at the next duty station.
Rest in Peace Sister! You are a credit to all in the Corps. You wore the Red Patch well and with honor. From a Red Patch Sgt (77-84) I salute you. Prayers for the Family! SEMPER FI!
as a former Navy Corpsman who worked with the marines....semper fi cpl Parcell....woman to woman, we defended our nation, you have paved the way for more women to serve valiantly

To those 44 people who disliked this video no explanation is possible for you to understand!!! To all those who liked this video, No explanation is necessary!!!
God Bless this wonderfully selfless and heroic Marine. Her story inspires me to be a better person. Semper Fi Cpl Parcell. I just posted this video to my Facebook page and urged others to take the time to learn of your story. Rest easy.
We were in the same company in Oki. We were training to deploy to Iraq when I heard what had happened, and I went to her service at the Chapel. I deployed a few months later, yet ten years later, I'm still here.
I was never in any branch of the military, but this brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for all that have served past present and future. I have nothing but the updo most respect for all of you.
Rest in Peace Sister! You are a credit to all in the Corps. You wore the Red Patch well and with honor. From a Red Patch Sgt (77-84) I salute you. Prayers for the Family! SEMPER FI!

This was posted on 06/17/2011 my comment is from 02/12/2019. I've never known anything about Jennifer... Yet... Her loss still brought me to tears. Apparently, her mother achieved HER goal... She is not only remembered... she is loved by someone that's never known anyone close to her. You can't cry for someone without first loving them. I cried... I am not ashamed. I hope her mother reads this. 💘💔💜
I have the outmost respect for female soldiers they can kick ass trust me and there strong I got pulled on a chopper by one them when I was hit hard by an IED that took my leg god bless all my brothers and sisters

You are still missed Jennifer, there are still days I cannot believe that we in bootcamp together and that you replaced my lioness group. You are always in my thoughts
Made me cry too. I was deployed to Iraq 2006 bout 20 clicks south of Fallujah so I never got to see her but we did have a total of 7 death too and every time I think about Iraq it brings pain I always remember those brave Marines who sacrificed themselves. It was an absolute honor serving with them.

I was there, she saved my life…she walked right behind me and took all the shrapnel I would have gotten…bet you never expected a comment like this…but I scroll every year around this time and pick out a random comment…we love for her memory
I have a daughter who was a lioness in the Helmand province in Afghanistan around 2005-2006 I believe. She was there 4 times so I might have the years confused. She only did it for a few months but she and I took a lot of pride in that service.
Sempre Fi Marine. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. You and others like you live through those that knew you and people like me that know your story. God Bless!
How sweet of us to think of our young soldiers today something happened to me that made me think about all of them I met a nice old man from the 82nd airborne he said he was stationed in North Carolina in the 50s But I was thinking I was proud to meet him but we should also be proud of our Vietnam vets our second world war , down to what Civil War The battle of the Alamo how many more we forget those we leave them to defend for their self on the streets We can’t remember soldiers of today without remembering our soldiers of past times God bless you all and let’s fight for the old Soldiers also God bless you rest in peace to all of our fallen no matter who Or where So many of these soldiers live on the streets with no food nowhere to go in the cold remember that and remember to tell our president that he needs to do something to help these people
I remember seeing her several times on AL ASAD...God Bless you "Gold Star" mom. She will live forever...Because the Marine Corps will live forever. Her blood is forever embedded in the Scarlet and Gold flag of the Corp!!!. Semper FI
An awesome tribute and remembrance for a soldier who gave her life while serving her country. May God bless Cpl Parcell, her family, and the United States of America.
I'm a former deputy sheriff, and I've experienced the loss of fellow cops in my county. The rage is indescribable. Makes you want to find those responsible and make them pay very dearly.
9 years after and I find Jenny's story for the first time. My son served in Anbar 06-07.......... and remembers "hearing" of your Marines passing, when I talked to him about her. As a Devil Dog from the early 70's, I can whole hardheartedly say, the tears dropping today, fall for all lost but never forgotten fellow Marine's. We share in your loss and we also share in her amazing service. Rest easy now Marine.......I will never forget you!
As a tired old Vietnam vet, I salute you Jenny. You have a strong family along with your former military brothers and sisters, you will never be forgotten.
Thank you for sharing her story. She will not be forgotten. Mom- from my entire family, thank you for keeping us safe. We owe you a debt we can never repay, but simply to remember. We will.
Folks this is Heart Breaking. I am honored to live in a country that produced a young woman like this. Now, please prayerfully consider what I am going to say. Because without taking time to understand what I am attempting to convey, you may have a knee jerk reaction of wanting to kick my ass and turn me off. My heart also goes out to the woman who thought she was and may have been "Protecting" her own Country from an invader. Today, 4-22-2020 our way of life has taken a turn. There may come a time (in the near future) where people in uniform, NOT AMERICAN, are used to police our society. If you think this is far fetched you don't know the UN or their purpose. It is not my intention to disrespect the Life or Lives lost in Service. I believe that some of the men and women used overseas and even on our own soil or being used for Business and not DEFENDING our country. If and when you experience a UN Check point. And you, we are asked to explain our presence on the soil we have been on our whole life. If you have had a hard time with my statement, at that point I believe you will understand. Thank you, my body was too broken to serve. I did grow up in Military Housing. In the manufacturing of Smokeless powder, LAW rockets, 105mm and other artillery shells, solid rocket propellant........ John 14:6
The best measure of a life is how much one can touch others. Im just one in a long line to cry for the loss of this lioness. Peace and healing to those that knew her
WOW, very touching. My brother was also a marine, master sergeant, who fought in the Korean war, the bond that is formed among marines is truly amazing. God bless her and all who served.
Semper Fi Marine. Though you are small in physical stature, you embody all that is a true warrior. Fierce in seeing through the mission. Gentle to those who need it. That is the code. May you and all those who paid the price for our freedoms, now and in the past, whether on land, at sea, or in the air, rest in eternal peace. USN, 1982-1988.
Todd, I have watched a lot of your RUclips clips. This one just makes me cry. For Cpl. Parcell and all the other Marines, Army, on the ground. I just hired a E-7 Army vet. He was there. Those check points. With the woman in a big bee keeper suit should have to take it off 30 ft away. Or turn around and go back. Wearing that much can hide weapons. We are at war. Make our Marines safe. Screw that pat down crap.. Come on General's. If it war. don't let people dressed like that get that close.
Thanks for your love and support towards me I really appreciate. I will like you to send me a massage via my private email: genjosephmmartin7@gmail.com
From one military veteran to another, Cpl. Parcell, you were the model Marine and I offer my sincere condolences to all of your family and friends. Semper Fidelis could never ring more true for an outstanding young Marine like you.
This wonderful and touching story is also a Reminder that EVERY Marine -- or member of ALL Branches of our Military TEAM -- has a similar 'story'... Every one is an individual American that has Family, School Friends, life-friends, and a community that they are a part of...and that suffers the loss of that Life. A folded FLAG on the mantle of the fireplace is no 'replacement' for the Empty Place left by that missing Loved One... Rest In GOD's ARMS Cpl. Jennifer Marie Purcells ... along with ALL who have shared your sacrifice... And a Grateful Heart from all of us who were protected by your Service.
I'm sure more good people read your comment but were too choked up to reply. As the mother of Marine and a Sailor, both sons, I would be very proud to have a daughter like you. Thank you for your service.
My most sincere respect for this courageous woman. 48 years younger than me and I’m so saddened by her loss. God has another Marine guardian of the halls of Heaven 😢😥
I don't believe Cpl Parcell and I ever crossed paths, as she seems like a Marine I would have remembered, but we served together both in Okinawa and Iraq (Aug '06-Mar '07). I'm sorry that she wasn't on that flight home. I know it's nearly 8 years too late, but my heart goes out to her family. May she rest in peace, and guard Heaven's streets with her sister Marine, LCpl Juana NavarroArrellano.
Sorry for your loss USMC. Former Royal Engineer here. My experience with females was one of respect. They often volunteered for dodgy missions before their male counterparts. Some hard patrols searching for IEDs or driving fuel trucks to resupply isolated bases in Basra whilst knowing that each convoy would experience a complex ambush in an urban area. REspect Her family have suffered so much, they’re only comfort is knowing what she achieved for her country. Her name lives forever more x
good for the Female soldiers, be proud, and I thank you may you rest in peace nad I support all troops male and female, god bless you all, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart
Damn nothing but respect for all people especially women that join the military. I'm getting ready to go to the airforce but I had to shed a year for this young lady.
I knew Cpl Parcell, she was attached to my unit in Iraq as a lioness when she was killed in the suicide blast which also took the life of our SgtMaj and one of our interpreters.
I offer some balance as a lifelong supporter of the Corps. God Bless Jenny and her family.
Sempre Fi Marine. Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. You and others like you live through those that knew you and people like me that know your story. God Bless!
Semper Fi, God bless you Jenny, you are a BEAUTIFUL angel now !!!
God Bless the Family of this AMERICAN HERO and all the ones like her.
I'm a former deputy sheriff, and I've experienced the loss of fellow cops in my county. The rage is indescribable. Makes you want to find those responsible and make them pay very dearly.
Thank for your service
who is cutting onions in here...I render my salute.
Semper FI, Sister. See you in formation when it's my time to go.
As a tired old Vietnam vet, I salute you Jenny. You have a strong family along with your former military brothers and sisters, you will never be forgotten.
Rip to fellow Marine and resident of Maryland. Semper Fi
Thank you for sharing her story. She will not be forgotten. Mom- from my entire family, thank you for keeping us safe. We owe you a debt we can never repay, but simply to remember. We will.
Rest in peace Marine. You are the true meaning of "the few, the proud".

Five years ago today. I'll never forget sitting in that chapel on Okinawa for her memorial.
Thanks for the update and memories ❤ revisted June 20 2024❤❤❤❤Dobie Wan Kanobie ❤❤❤❤
"A GREAT MARINE" - "Semper-Fi Young Marine"
The best measure of a life is how much one can touch others. Im just one in a long line to cry for the loss of this lioness.
Peace and healing to those that knew her
Thank You for Your Service and Ultimate Sacrifice Cpl. Parcell, May You Forever Rest In Peace.
Was with 2/3 Golf company at this time. 2/4 Golf from the MEU augmented us. I recall this. Thank you Cpl Parcell. Always faithful.
God bless you, RIP Marine..
WOW, very touching. My brother was also a marine, master sergeant, who fought in the Korean war, the bond that is formed among marines is truly amazing. God bless her and all who served.
Jennifer Parcell- consider the name remembered.
I support and respect and honor all veterans and all troops, god bless you cpl Jennifer and family .
Thank you Service 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Todd, I have watched a lot of your RUclips clips. This one just makes me cry. For Cpl. Parcell and all the other Marines, Army, on the ground. I just hired a E-7 Army vet. He was there. Those check points. With the woman in a big bee keeper suit should have to take it off 30 ft away. Or turn around and go back. Wearing that much can hide weapons. We are at war. Make our Marines safe. Screw that pat down crap.. Come on General's. If it war. don't let people dressed like that get that close.
Respect & heartfelt thank you...
Thank you for your brave service and sacrifice Lioness! I am proud to be your sister Marine, and I will always remember and honor your memory.♥️🇺🇸
You will always be remembered. God bless the family of this beautiful young Marine.
From an old army tanker, hooah and semper fi!!!!
Semper Fi and God Bless you Marine.
I'm sure more good people read your comment but were too choked up to reply. As the mother of Marine and a Sailor, both sons, I would be very proud to have a daughter like you. Thank you for your service.
She was getting into country just as I was leaving. So sad to hear shit like this.
REspect
Her family have suffered so much, they’re only comfort is knowing what she achieved for her country. Her name lives forever more x
I'm glad to hear of the Cpl's service, to her family Ihope you have the peace you deserve. S/F
As a Veteran I Salute Cpl Jennifer Parcell. A true Lioness. Prayers and Blessings!
good for the Female soldiers, be proud, and I thank you
may you rest in peace nad I support all troops male and female, god bless you all, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart
Damn nothing but respect for all people especially women that join the military. I'm getting ready to go to the airforce but I had to shed a year for this young lady.
