I remember my local pub getting Castlemaine XXXX in about 86. they were giving loads of promotional stuff out. Still got an ash tray and bottle opener. Carling Premiere with Gary Numan's Cars (E reg version) as the theme song. He made a fortune off that. Days gone by when most people went the pub nearly every day and lunch times! Completely different generation now
If you think about it, it seems our social & community spirit has taken a knock with each emergence of a new communication technology. Television was the big one, leading to more staying in & dwelling in your own family bubble. It's change we can never recover from, culturally speaking.
@@RetroSteveUK Pandemic taught a lot of people that they could stay at home and buy cheap booze from the supermarket. Them people never came back to the pubs when they opened up again. Shame really. In a few years pubs will only exist in city centres, where lots of people pass through :(
watching these old ads from Steve makes me think we were the "self raising" generation, possible mixed with some kids "raised by hand". A world apart from modern drinks ads. Great stuff.
9:16 This Carlsberg Danish Lager Beer Commercial Looks Awesome. I've Used To Have A Carlsberg Lager Beer Whilst I Was At Bristol Hippodrome Theatre In Bristol Near The City Of London In England In The United Kingdom During Disney's Beauty And The Beast's UK And Ireland Tour Special In August 2021 And I Used As A Champagne Too. Thanks Mate. X
Looking for a Tennents advert. Opens with a shot of an Oil Rig Supply Vessel coming up the Tay estuary, cuts to James Cosmo on the bridge. Says something like "I've got a date there this evening" as he points to a shoreline pub, The Ship Inn, Broughty Ferry. But for the love of God can I find it trawled loads of RUclips TV Advert vids. Nothing🤦🏻♂️ ps. it was also used by Pearl and Dean at the cinema.
I'm currently watching this booze advert compilation at three in the morning while drinking Stella Artois right now hehe! 😆

Yeah, that one hasn't shown up, but rest assured if it does it'll go into a Beer & Booze compilation.
@@RetroSteveUK Cheers it's elusive and yet it appeared often. I am convinced the last time I saw it was 1988 on Grampian TV.
Anyone remember ''I'd rather be Hemeling''?
There are a couple of Hemeling adverts on other volumes of these Beer & Booze collections.
