This one is incredible. Neither guy should have lost with scores that high. Really good upload. Love Norm.
Forget 300-279 (Ozio/Aulby and Learn/Petraglia), *this* is the greatest high-scoring title match ever. Norm coming off one of the greatest weeks in Tour history and runs into Goebel
Norm Duke just finished his career on tv and he was rolling the ball almost exactly the same way in 2022
as he was in 1994. what incredible scores he put up back then. what incredible consistency!
definitely one of the top 10 bowlers of all time.
would love to have seen them both roll 300's and each get 200,000.
amazing that norm could hold on to the ball in the 9th frame over the foul line
and then throw a perfect strike after that. Bravo!
crazy scoring when you knock down more pins than your opponent and still lose.
If you ask me... I'd say this has to be in the top 10 for best Finals match in PBA history... 🎳
I remember watching this live back in the day. Bryan rolling the Gyro Pro, back when Ebonite was good. Nitro/R^2, Red Wolf Pearl, Turbo X, all great equipment back then. I rolled a 257 triplicate 771 in youth league around that time with the Turbo/C. Good times. Good times. I still think Norm Duke is the most versatile bowler on tour. Nobody else can play straight, as well as hook the whole lane, even sometimes using both lines in the same game, and be as successful as Norm.
I think this was combined the highest scoring match ever
Maybe the highest in a championship final then?

Two times I won 300 ver. 298.
Imagine knocking down 3 more pins than your opponent and losing by 16.
What a match! Feel like Duke had the longer career. You don't really hear about Goebel.
Norm with a beard 0.o
Tom Baker and Pete Weber rolled a 300-300 tie in Denver once.
Back when the crowd was energetic and the players showed emotion for big games instead of brushing them off as just another game.
Tough lost for Norm
Boy
I always enjoyed Bo Burton's commentary.
Most money blew in one ball is sad
100 dollar fine for a 25 second rule what the hell is that BS
They paid money for time on television. If they have to run over that time they pay more money and during this time in the PBA money was not huge. They assume you'll get up there and take your shot so they don't have to pay extra.
both Bryan Goebel and Norm Duke had an incredible title match
