I don't think so. Remember, at that point, Metallica was still strictly a word-of-mouth band and was still one more album away from getting ANY radio time other than one or two songs at a time when the local radio station would have been airing the Z-ROCK broadcast from L.A. on a time delay for a few hours on late night Fridays. As popular as they were becoming, they still hadn't broken through to actually being aired at any time of day when us metalheads would have been sleeping through class. I firmly believe that if this had made it onto MoP, it would have destroyed any and all credibility that they had built up in the thrash metal scene and quite possibly derailed the band's careers. If we wanted to hear music like this in '86, that's why they had BonJovi. But this song is completely devoid of any subject matter they were writing at the time; politics, drug use, death, suicide, war, injustice, violence, agression, anger, mysery, suffering, sorrow, madness, etc. Not trust. They weren't singing about trust in '86. That didn't happen unti '90. It's definitely a great reworking of the song, just not '86 material. I'm hearing Orion, Master, Sanitarium and Matters in one song. My mind is blown, this is by far your best rework yet and I might like this version better than the original
First minute - Very nice intro with very Orion-ish parts Second minute - The vocals have become much more distant than they are on the black album, and James sounds slightly younger, although not as much as usual in your redos. The Pre-Chorus is very chord-laden and ThicC. Third Minute - Ok the chorus hit woah. Very powerful, and reminiscent of Sanitarium. The Guitar solo afterwards furthers that feeling, which I think has been edited slightly as well. The drum fills are noticeably heavier and a second chorus brings in epic proportions Fourth minute- The melodies are quite sad, not aggressive. Very like a couple of songs on master. The chorus with soft guitar is interesting, and although not expected seems quite likely. The build-up is a part of the Pre-Chorus, which I think is taken from the title track. Oh shet, there's thrash Sixth minute - The thrash intro had a very interesting and off-camber fill which fitted nicely with Lars' style in the 80's. The following part is from Leper Messiah? Seventh Minute - I'm not even gonna have to write and eighth. The song very well brings across master of puppets, even if James' vocals sound off. The layout and instrumentals all fit perfectly. Incredibly well done, Mercury! And what happened to Black Album Blackened?
This is away and much beyond perfection. This is a Metallica's best times worth new song, a thing not even themselves are capable. I cannot even begin to thank enough for this. Made my day entirely.
It’s more a combination of the the 3/4 E minor part of Orion and Welcome Home (Sanitarium). The first part is inspired Orion and the thrash part is based on Sanitarium. Pretty awesome.
There are so many hidden things (not that much actually lmao) that made this song much sicker than usual. Allow me to give my 2 Pesos. 0:56 - A newly written solo following the verse riff of the clean guitars 1:07 a soft but audible harmony on that descending scale Also, realise that the vocals are now in double-take rather than single (the norm 'Tallica had back in their days) 4:45 the vocals are now in another key (actually caught me off guard LMAO) which makes this song much more natural. I have no words for the final solos, they're amazing as it is. It wasn't ripped off at all, just played by heart to fit the hands of Krik Hammer. The track, of course, was mostly inspired by Welcome Home (Sanitarium), but it wasn't *HEAVILY* reworked following the structure and arrangement on that song as well (be it either on Nothing else matters or sanitarium). What makes this a unique masterpiece is that you were able to put yourself in the shoes of the band themselves. You were able to write down new riffs and pieces that sound so much different than its inspired originals and made a ballad song into a heavy and boiling song, and that's what makes you the very best reworker out here. \m/

But you inspired me to pick up the electric guitar after 8-9 years and the MetallicA songs are coming back to me. Anyway, I didn’t know I was gonna go into my life’s story. Keep it heavy 🤘😈🤘 Everything you did is just perfect. Me and my friends discuss your songs all the time
This is incredible and so beautiful.. Thank you for this. Truly a gifted musician through and through!
Damn dude. Instant download. Great job man!
Holy sh*t! Well done 👏🏼👏🏼 Even James’ vocals sound like his younger self, and Kirks solos are 👌🏼
This is incredible!!! Wouldn't be surprised to find out you are really Hetfield
one day I asked for a thrash version of this song and now we have it
u're awesome
\m/
You never cease to amaze! Your remixes are great and full of talent. Keep up the excellent work man.
dude, all of your "what if...." songs are amazing.... man Metallica must be jealous about your versions ;-) outstanding work!
Low mans lyrics on Black album
Sweet Amber on Justice would be awesome that breakdown riff fits that album perfectly
State, you absolutely blew my mind on this one man, can we possibly get Dyers Eve on Master Of Puppets at some point?
YEEEEES
@@StateOfMercury Or Orion on ...Ajfa?

@@conorknott2683 NO, please god NO!!!
My dude, what have you touched that hasn't turned into gold? Ok, this song and tone are gold already, but daaamn!! \m/
Every time you do one of these you outdo yourself, which is just... insane.
The Sanitarium feel is a really nice touch!
This is a masterpiece mate. Amazing work 👏
the solo(s) are freaking amazing FOR REAL.
So this is what it would feel like being born in the eighties and hearing Metallica for the first time!?
Yes! When the heavy part kicked in, I moshed.
DAMN BOI... thats SICK AF, absolutely love it, thanks!
if you told me that kirk played that main solo i would’ve believed you. wow dude
Those extra drum fills during the verse...That's sooo Lars!
The quality of what RUclips rabbit hole offers is not always even mediocre. But this! This is an actual Metallica song, only genuinely from a parallel reality. You've picked the song apart so lovingly and put it back together in the sound and arrangement font of a different album ❤ this is among the best of what modern art has to offer!
I would have liked you to be the Producer of remastered Metallica Albums.
Sorry for my English.
You actually wrote correctly in English.
@@TheWatchernator that impressed me too hahaha
