Good on you starting so early. When I was in my early 20s I had no idea what skincare was and did some Neutrogena, Clearasil, which made things so much worse then did the apricot scrub and that was my skincare. I never moisturized because I thought I was oily and I never did sunscreen because I tanned so well. So....good on you. Now I've been using Paula's choice for 2 years and came across your video just now. It's still cool to see such good results.
I also use this retinol and it really helps red spots from acne. It's worth the price in my opinion. I use it every evening and my skin loves it. I sometimes buffer it in with a lotion and it still works just as well.
Im a male and I use this retinol like it's a moisturizer 😄 every night and never had any reaction.. it's been 2 weeks now.. I noticed my skin gets brighter and smooth
it does not have a lot to do with your sex tho. I'm a male too and can't handle it, my sister, on the other hand, uses it everyday and has had no reaction, she didn't even build it up, she went straight to everyday use.
Great tip! I definitely think that’s the way to go to get the most out of retinol or any active ingredients!! I was just buffering this with oil/moisturiser since I started with such a strong % and didn’t want my skin to be *too* irritated 🥲
Hi you should be using differin. Years ago, in the states, it was only available by prescription and now you can get it over the counter. Differin will help acne and scars. I used it in my teens and 20’s. I’m 38 now and I used retinol for fine lines.
Panoxyl cream (Benzoyl Peroxide) works so well on my acne and it leaves no scarring until it was no longer found in the market over 10 years ago. Now, I'd have to buy all these resurfacing/peeling services or products that I can't afford to help with my "craters". What a billion dollar industry. Thanks to acne 💔😂
I still use benzoyl peroxide time to time its perfect. You can also check differin. It is different kind of retinol made for acne treatment. Make sure you use it in winter and wear sunscreen just like any other retinol. Dont use it during summer.
Wow i think your acne scars became almost unnoticable now i’ve seen your review videos but what specific product u think it helped most with your scars?
Honestly I think time and wearing sunscreen has been what's faded them most effectively. I know, an annoying response! I wish there was a miracle product. I also swear by using rosehip seed oil every night though! And exfoliating once a week. I'm about to try an at home micro-needling tool so we'll see how that helps my indented scars - stay tuned for that video!! 😬
@@fadedone5687 I really like La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ fluid for sunscreen. I have been using it since I was about 14/15 years old! In terms of exfoliators, I have made videos of the ordinary AHA BHA liquid and the Paula's Choice BHA liquid, but honestly wouldn't 100% recommend either of them. I have pigmentation, subtle rolling scars and some pitted scars on my forehead :)
@@BriannaJane I know this might be late but don’t do at home face treatments such as micro needle rolling, it’s very dangerous to use it and do other facials when you have no experience or idea how to use it!! Be kind to your skin and go in to an esthetician for any facial treatments, i promise your skin will thank u
Oooh I wouldn’t continue use if it stings, that sounds painful 🙁 I think some peeling with retinol can occur when it’s too strong for your skin/you overuse it in the beginning. This 1% concentration is actually quite strong to start out on, maybe look for a lower %? Good luck!
I have an acne scar and after i left it on overnight yesterday i woke up and the scar was alot smaller..not sure what happened but it's for sure working if this is just day 1. I actually just asked for a small sample at Sephora so I could try it for free
That’s great you got a sample! And that you saw those results. I’m actually trying out The Ordinary’s Retinol 1% in Squalane atm and it’s quite good in my opinion and a lot more affordable than this one. I’ll be posting a video about that one in the next month or so if you’re interested 😄
Hi! Sorry for my late reply! These are different products so it’s hard to recommend which would be better. The AHA/BHA peeling solution I use every 1/2 weeks as an exfoliant and you don’t leave it on. This may help to remove the top layer of dead skin and reveal softer, smoother skin after the first use. A retinol is something you use a little bit more frequently (and you slowly build up tolerance over time!). It’s more aiming to stimulate collagen production to reduce fine lines and acne etc. I have very sensitive skin, and find that either are fine if I am careful with how often I use them. So it really depends on what you’re hoping to get from the product. I hope that helps! :)
Video coming soon!! It's all filmed just have to find time to edit :)))) TLDR on the ordinary retinol: didn't make me break out as much as Paula's Choice, I liked the formula (oil-based) but I didn't really notice any changes in my skin texture...

How long did it take for it to work? did it do anything for your texture?
U SOMETIMES buffer with lotion?? So the other time u use it alone? With no moisturiser?

Wow! I have been using it 1x a week and my face burn off 🤣🤣🤣 but seriously it's soooo irritated and flaky.

@@Daniel.rmendez exactly. If you have sensitive skin, like me, forget about it.
Love than men start using skin care too👏🏻😌
Maybe a tip? I was told by an aesthetician to put retinol on first-before any other treatments-and let it soak in before putting on moisturizer.

Do you still use this? And what’s your opinion now after one year?
good info. you need to show before and after photos using the same lighting

Do you know how many pumps are in a bottle? I am trying to work out how cost effective it will be :)
You started off with too strong. I would recommend trying 1x per week for a couple months.

Well differin is the popular brand. The retinol is called adapalene

I've used Differin before and Retinaldehyde too . Geek&Gorgeous , Naturium , Avene , MadAboutSkin all do Retinal .
My skin peeled after I used it so I stopped for a week… heard this was normal and that I should keep using it but it seriously stings.

It looks like you would do better with the retinol booster not the cream. The booster is for oily skin
Retinol very good
Does anyone have any idea how long 1 bottle lasts if used every night?
1 month
Save your money get altreno! Go for the good stuff
