I was at every one of those shows they did at the Apollo Theater 125th St between 7th & 8th Ave, and I still have two of the cardboard posters that they put on lamp post. The highlight of the first or second show was when BERNIE WORRELL opened the show by himself even if the band never took the stage BERNIE WAS ALL THAT WAS NEEDED.
Thank you for the field report, it would be great if that video would pop up, don't know if the Apollo Theatre has an archive or something, maybe you could help us with that quest, just a thought,....
@@bushtales I had tried in the past to find footage from those shows at the Apollo Theater and it has been impossible to find anything out there. I had been to countless shows there since I was a kid and it’s a shame that if there’s any footage of any shows that it’s not being shared. My favorite shows were MR.JAMES BROWN, KOOL AND THE GANG, THE UNIFICS WITH JEROME BIGFOOT BRAILEY ON DRUMS AND THE NITE LITERS. Unfortunately the list is too long to mention everybody but I am GRATEFUL FOR THE EXPERIENCE I HAD GROWING UP GOING TO THE APOLLO THEATER.

Yes sir or any other video recording of that 1980 era will be fine! It's a quest, and there is or was a video, according to Stozo and Clip Payne, they've seen it
@@bushtales Yeah I've seen Clip online looking for a copy. And agreed about anything from that era. I've been loving the stuff you've been posting especially the 80,81 & 83 shows. Thanks for sharing and keep comin'!
The audio's not so bad, it beats the hell out of some bad audience recordings I've heard in my time. The real problem is that there's some artificial stereo fuckery going on that messes with the clarity of the recording. A solid mono version of this tape would be a funky godsend.
There's a moment at 7:50 where I think Gary quotes Glen's Swing Down Riff from 77, wow.
Man U are really doing some good things for P-Funk community. I just want to thank you, please please keep it coming ..
Thanks for the great comment, much appreciated!
Thank you, Bushtales! I've been looking for this recording for ages! You made my day! :)
And btw I'm 25 years old, and I love that era! ❤️

I guess u say in this case. for historical purposes. Hard to listen beyond 10 minutes due to such bad headache audio.
Absolutely correct! Historical Purposes!
