For me, Guilded is just a better version of Discord but the problem is that not many people use Guilded as much as Discord. Even though Guilded doesn't have some feature that Discord has like creating chat group dms or screen sharing in a voice channel or push to talk in a private dm call. Overall, Guilded is a very good program in my opinion.
All the things you mentioned are avaible at the moment. Excluding streaming in voice channels, but you could just create a streaming channel and talk within it.
tysm for this video, I'm gonna go download Guilded right now and try it out! I never heard of it before now, and a lot of those features sound *amazing*! The timezone one hit especially close to home, lol.
The one thing stopping us from using Guilded is the lack of bot functionality. We use in-game API all the time for our bots, and we cannot access that crucial information with Guilded's current bot setup. Even if Guilded were to add more bot functionality in future, exporting our homemade bots would be a massive pain.
video summed up: guilded has more features, and the features that discord does have in common with guilded, discord implemented after guilded. common guilded w
I love how Guilded has nitro stuff for free, but I also hope they at least put things behind paywalls so they can make more money. Maybe 1GB for paid subscribers, more unique profile customisation options for paid subscribers etc. Of course, keep the stuff that's already free, well, free. I appreciate that guilded looks after their users, but they definitely deserve the money to keep them going. Of course, they shouldn't let money make them greedy (looking at you, discord)
Why though when there is literally no need anymore for them to make money? Roblox bought them with a signed contract that they will not get involved in business decisions, and in return they have a chat system they've been wanting. Guilded has indefinite funds, and roblox can use the chat system integrated with their game.

Refreshing to see a vs video about the two platforms from a primarily Guilded user, as most of them are from Discord focused channels, and they often have a bias towards the platform they based their channel on. Not denying possible bias from Guilded focused channels, but it's just something I observed. (in which case it's good to look from both sides of the fence per se to make your own balanced opinion)
I have a 100% bias towards guilded, but I only posted facts about both of them. Though they are outdated now since discord now has a few features they didn't prior. Though they are locked behind stuff so I'd need to do more research before an updated video
guilded looks overall a bit better but it has two main problems for me. 1) convincing my communities to get a new piece of software - thats a big issue, would require a lot of pushing 2) no screenshare in voice calls - use this feature a lot.
Once Guilded is like 98% free and the software runs smoothly and super fast on servers; Discord is toast! IF 98% of the features become free and they work smoothly; Guilded will be the New King of The Hill! I test it out every year and its honestly a better platform! I am about 90% convinced for a complete transfer and permanent resident of this platform! I hate paying for Discord Nitro! It gets too expensive over time and limiting features is a "pay to play" exclusion policy which is anti-social and greed driven parasitic behavior!
Agree. Guilded is superior to discord in every regard. Best part is, they allow underage users to join (as long as they have parental consent) which allows more people to join and use it. Unfortunately though Guilded is not used by alot of people. Hope it becomes more popular than discord
No Guilded most certainly does not, they may able to do it if they follow some red tape, but they rather not deal w/ it for a platform like that (do you really want filters, restrictions, potentially severe limits and etc. like Roblox has, except not for a game platform, but an entire social media platform?), so it's easier to just banish them, than to follow the red tape, and risk spoiling the experience for the more mature audiences.

I'd move to Guilded if everything wasn't already so established in Discord. And I don't really want multiple social medias to keep up with or have running at the same time.

Guilded has an API as well as bots. So this comment isn't a relevant argument anymore. Sites like guildedbot.com shows some but not all bots available, you have bots coming out daily now as well.

Roblox bought them with a contract to not get involved in any guilded affairs. However they take the profit guilded makes. So now the staff are all on salary.
i would disagree with the "everything is actually fact" that you said at the end, since you heavily implied multiple times that discord does things just to be money hungry and to save workforce. my take is that they try to keep the platform partially minimal to be more user friendly to hypercasuals, as opposed to guilded who openly brags about they in depth feature list. i still want guilded to succeed to the point where it has enough users & runs smoothly enough to be the primary platform, but until then it will stay a development project. some "charitable behavior" on guilded's side might also change in the future if they get a mentionable fanbase, so dont see their current positive behavior as a longterm standard. im not saying it can't be, just that if you know anything about marketing, this is a standard business procedure. Amazon started selling Books on loss themselves at first to tear down the competition, and i wouldnt call Amazon not money driven. That said, i would still support guilded simply to keep competition healthy, and force companies to stay humble. Just dont take their behavior too personal yet.
Guilded should make an advanced settings for servers and put anything that isn't widely useful in there. I agree w/ you about their charitable behavior not being a guarantee if they get enough concurrent users, as it'd both be drastically more expensive to offer the same level of service, and eventually a business would have to do something to satisfy their shareholders if they are relying on them or they'll eventually fail and you'd simply end up w/ likely no more service. (as a result many of the more humble Guilded users don't even emphasize this part of them atm, since deep down they are uncertain)
