It's real police officers, they carry a gun in uniformed except the fare enforcer have a hand cuff to hold till TP officer come and pick it up. In my city, they're MTA Police Dept as Metro Transit Authority, it's fully uniformed officer does carry gun, tazer and cuffs. When they're on the trains, officer checking the fare proof and carry fare reader for ppls who have a GoTo smartcard.

State police and transit police in New Jersey should team up for a operation

Jay 100, Yes they should team up but the NJ State Police primary function is to enforce Motor Vehicle Laws and patrol rural areas that don't have a police force. NJ Transit Police primary function is safety and security of the passenger trains.

The New Jersey Transit Police was created on January 1, 1982. In 1995 the New York City Transit Police merge with the N.Y.P.D.

Please let your officers know that THERE IS NO PERMIT REQUIRED TO PHOTOGRAPH OR FILM New Jersey Transit Trains on the system. I'm getting real sick and tired of your offices asking me for one when there isn't one required.

Way too much fish bowl . Also the showing off of machine guns was not a good place to start a promo. But that what they want to seen as ?

Assault weapons?! Stupid and over kill. Not impressed. In the 80's I never saw one cop ever on the Raritan Valley Line and I travelled it every day for work. In the 60's when they were rioting in Plainfield they simply skipped the stop. Never any cops. Where are they hiding?

Are you sh itting me? armed transit police with machine guns??? At what point does a transit police need that much gear? These guys in the video have more gear than swat? and all they do is protect buses, trains etc??? i don't get it... Federal funding to enhance gear for the protection of transit users? REALLY? So for the past 100 years what the F did you do that was so wrong?
