Keep these videos coming - I really appreciate them. Given the high cost of boating, I try to do as much as I can on my elderly KAD44s and videos like these help enormously. If your exhaust elbows ever need replacing it would be great to see a video on that. Enjoy the Thames, I did, but have now moved to Gosport and the Solent where locks are rare!
Great video. I've been watching it repeatdedly after the water circulation pump belt snappet on my KAD32. One question: How do you lock the pulley for the cirulation pump belt? Mine just rotates when I try to remove the bolts.
Many thanks for the video. I was searching for belt numbers and it seems Marine Parts Europe's exploded views are no longer accessible. My own bottom tensioner locknut was so thoroughly seized that it required a hacksaw, hammer and chisel to remove. Ah, Volvo...
Isnt that water circ belt (861564) used for the old style pulley? The new style should use 3582424. It’s a bit shorter so you don’t run out of adjustment.
At 7.05 on the video you mention slacking off the 'bottom' tensioner. What does it relate to and is this a third tensioner or is it the slightly lower tensioner 3.56 for the water pump belt?
As stated on the Kad44 and kad300 and maybe the others the compressor runs till the engine reaches 40 degrees. This is meant to reduce smoking at start up
Wrong belt for the waterpump. Shall be a 7PK910 . To long belt will over time damage the belttensioner wheel. You must tension the belt in the right order, Waterpump then alternator, then compressor(supercharger) and if fitted powersteering pump.
Good video for people to see how it is done. But. Strictly speaking you are using the wrong belt for the crank to water pump belt. 861564 belts were used on 42's/43's with old style eccentric tensioners. 3582424 belts were used on the later geared style tensioners (which you have). Belt length is slightly different. I think 861564 belts do the job mind. My 2 43's, with the later tensioners take the 3582424 no problem and is the correct belt according to Volvo drawings. Manual for my 43's states : change all belts every 1200 hours or 60 months, whichever comes first.
No offense, my man, but though your shoulder has a lovely profile, it's not what I tuned in to see. You might consider remaking the clip by first showing the exact bolt or nut you plan to loosen next (given the tight engine bay space; I understand, I have the same problem in mine...) before we count the weave pattern on your sweater while you wrench.
Yep I know its not ideal though to be honest I didn't have much time to do the job in the first place let alone think about camera angles and placements. Hopefully some will find useful and you can get the just of what u need to do 👍

Exhaust elbow video coming soon
@@Boatingtube Great. Also enjoyed your trip to Ramsgate video, my birthplace!
I’d like to see exhaust elbows as well please. Also have twin Kad 44’s

Great informative video thank you. You haven’t done one on checking valve clearances by any chance have you. Can’t find one anywhere.
Very good explication 👍
Did you also torque the water circulation belt with a torque wrench? I only noticed you is the torque for the compressor belt.
Make a video of kad44/300 valve adjustment…..alot of people asking about it on forums
Yes please I’m looking for this too.
If needed I will do a video of the valve adjustment KAD44/300 ,this autum.

Can you do one on how to remove the power steering belt. As the other engine has the power steering belt.
Helpful video thanks 🙏
how many hours do you get between belt changes? I kow you said you change them every four years - how many engine hours?

Sorry my bad filming doesn't help 😂 there are only 2 tensioner one on the compressor belt (top) and the other on the circulation pump belt (bottom)
Good Job.
thanks Raul 👍
The cover is not cosmetic; it's designed to keep your hands, sleeves or shirt tails from becoming tangled in the belts as they spin.
Hi, how did you stop the pulley from turning when you removed it?
Slacken off the 4 bolts before you undo the lower tensioner pulley
Why is the compressor turning at idle? I was wondering about the strange noise
The compressor runs for a few minutes after starting to warm up the engine
As stated on the Kad44 and kad300 and maybe the others the compressor runs till the engine reaches 40 degrees. This is meant to reduce smoking at start up
@@Boatingtube ah ok, thank you. My Kad42 isn't that smart :)
Don't knock it the ECU for edc engines are out of production at the moment so a lot of people now wishing they didn't have a smart engine 😂

@@Boatingtube you can’t help that. I found it very useful
