Great vid I’m ex 2 Troop (second to none) n loved seeing it how it was when I was there. Look back on it with fondness, but as they say I don’t think I would of wanted to go thru it again. Obviously when the cameras weren’t there the REAL training was done.

@@johnlindsaycollins hey brother, nearly spat out my drink to see I had received a message from a fellow 2 Trooper, I went through in 1989 about 3 years or so after you. Looking at your videos you seem to of had a very similar career to myself. After basic & 8 sigs I was at first on the Div circuit & did the majority of my tours from there.

Brings back some memories may 20th 1992 intake, I remember my permanent status, Lt Mcappin, Sgt Giles, Cpl's Malloney, Behan, Dorman and one just slipped my mind, I'm 56 now, I would do it again tomorrow if I could reverse time, sadly time travel wasn't one of a lineys skills, CERTA CITO

      Liney...haha
Most were solid. Funny later as it was called Dvr Lmn as some of these Biffs worked in the mess.
Even the so called " combat" Lmn wasn't anything to do with combat. Just a joke.

1987 Ulster troop. Cpl Webb & Sgt Tough...
    Wow MEMORIES!!!!
Running up & down telegraph hill because someone got something wrong, then down again because the last man wasn't quick enough lol.
I spent a bit of time in that shed at the side of the parade ground , struggled with the about turn if I remember right.
The times we came back from a run & found all our stuff in a pile in the middle of our room.... Wow I can't stop smiling. If I remember right our dining room was split in two the ghurkas were on the other side. Hope Cpl Webb, Sgt Tough & all the lads are all ok, fit & well...

37:10 Was that a Cavalry band? I was in Helles Bks for Oct-Dec '64, then up in Vimy C for the duration of '65. Anyone remember the Harewood club? I mastered the bedpack early on so had to teach the rest how to do it properly (it wasn't that hard for #'#'#' sake). Issued boots were Ammo and DMS size 11 feet, most had just DMS.

Did my Staffies Course at 11 Sigs around this time. Remember watching a basic training troop running past us as we were forming up for our morning run. We set off about 5 minutes later - boots, denims, 35lb webbing, helmets and gats and passed them about 3/4 of a mile into our run. It didn't get any easer as you moved up the ranks, lol.

I was at Harrogate, intake 84A, Bradley Sqn. All i remember was when the permenant staff cleared off at night, the Apprentice NCOs were left in charge and thats when the real bullying began! I saw people hung out windows, we were beaten with broom handles. Who can forget the game of bed pack walls, were you got beaten black and blue, and the lovely game of solar plexus! I believe our Apprentice SSM tried to take his own life when he got to his first posting to BAOR. He was a psychopathic narcissist.
I left the Signals after seven years having tried to transfer a number of times, but never allowed, as I had a 'trade'. Pretend soldiers.
