As a child of the WWII Polish diaspora, my mother sang this song to me as since I was a child. I can't hear it without tears welling in my eyes. But I'm an old woman now, with several children of my own. One of which does not have white skin. The fact that this wonderful singer comes from who knows where, but at least central Europe, touches me and my family deeply. There is a universality in this wonderful song.
same here. i cannot but cry. we heard this carol as children half a century and half a world away. i remember a small church in Zakopane where this was sung.
We just sang this song at our Christmas concert two weeks ago and yesterday for our final performance of it for now. We did the theme of Christmas Around the World.
Mam nadzieję, że Pan to zobaczy i zrozumie. Naród to nie tylko zenek i disco. No chyba, że chcecie stracić milion wyborców :) to już wasza strata no i niestety Polski
Just a random comment created to send greetings to anyone from all over the world, who came here to get familiar with the roots of Chopin's 'Scherzo in b minor' middle part.
Not everyone knows that the middle part of the scherzo was based and inspired by a traditional Polish Christmas carol ‘Lulalajze jezuniu’ and you can actually hear it. Such a beautiful tribute to Poland; when he couldnt made his way back to his country he’d include that melody in one of his masterpieces.
Whenever I hear this koleda, it makes me think of how the Polish people survived all attempts to exterminate them, preserving this beautiful, delicate song through it all :'o)
Kamelhaj - the Poles fights for their independence last 300 years and Poles finally WON in every political cirumstances by their bravery, proud, sense of humanity and with the help of God... To preserve this song and many more of Christian culture, we try now to build independence from Moscow, Berlin and Bruxelles and - we will survive again.
Actually, the carol predates Chopin by a couple centuries. Chopin, along with many other composers of his era, delved into the folksongs of his country and took inspiration from them, especially as the age of nations dawned in Europe.
Our musical genius friend, Eddie Purcell, has just kindly introduced us to your music here and we have never heard anything so accomplished , harmonic, intelligently rendered or relaxed. He says he would gladly come to see you at any concert. From Peter, Sally and Eddie, Yorkshire, UK
But modified, results much more beautiful than the original, in my opinion (the melody, of course, I even don't need to mention the genial harmonies of Chopin arrangement!)
Lucky me! Among inheritance from my late mother Zofia (née Czuba - (1901-2009) - I recently found a note from 1976 where she in handwriting had quoted a few lines from this beautiful 'Koleda'. As I don't speak the Polish language I hoped to find a translation of the text here on RUclips - and got extremely happy to suddenly rember her singing this song in my early childhood! Only regret there's no translation to English og French language.
Sadly this beautiful carol is only performed in polish, but there is the translation if you want to know the meaning :) Hush little Jesus, my little pearl, Hush my favourite little delight. Hush little Jesus, hush, hush But you lovely mother, solace him in tears Close your little eyelids, tired of weeping, Solace the little lips, fainted from sobbing. Hush little Jesus, hush, hush But you lovely mother, solace him in tears Hush, our beautiful Angel. Hush, you graceful little flower of the world. Hush little Jesus, hush, hush But you lovely mother, solace him in tears Hush, you most decorative little rose, Hush, you most comfortable little lily. Hush little Jesus, hush, hush But you lovely mother, solace him in tears Hush, lovely eyes, star, Wrap, the world's most beautiful sunshine. Hush little Jesus, hush, hush (www.tekstowo.pl/piosenka,koleda,lulajze_jezuniu.html)

Bring great time as child did not understand the meaning of Jesus birth. As a mature woman appreciate childhood memories
Where do you live?
Afraid to acknowledge our Creator, the God who loves us.
W tej przepięknej kolędzie jest miłość ,niezwykła łagodność ,uczucia które są balsamem dla duszy.
Niech w 2021 puszczą to w TVP piękne utwory pięknie zagrane!
Dziekuje Samitra wspaniale wykonanie dziekuje.
Why the hell isn't this better known outside Poland? I stumbled on it more or less by accident. It's so beautiful.
We just sang this song at our Christmas concert two weeks ago and yesterday for our final performance of it for now. We did the theme of Christmas Around the World.
Scherzo no. 1 by Chopin quoted it.
It is know out of Poland at many CHRISTmas Polka dances.

It's a lullaby for baby Jesus sung by Holy Mary in Polish.
Przepięknie wykonana kolęda. Coś cudownego. Jest wielką radością móc słuchać tak cudownej muzyki w super wykonaniu.
Absolutely beautiful and a major surprise to see that the excellent soprano is a member of the choir itself.

I shall listen to this indefinitely.
Kochani serce się raduje bo to przecież kolęda Fryderyka Chopina.
