It’s crazy to think how much lore there is the zombies that we’ve never even seen. Like it would’ve been cool to see an actual scene of Richtofen and Maxis is creating the first zombie.

It’s very interesting how the first two COD Zombies Icebergs Lex watched were mostly funny/meme things the community found and made over the years.
Meanwhile, this Iceberg had a bunch of genuinely disturbing and creepy subjects especially once we got to the end. Case in point the Zetsubou and Unit 731 connection, like holy hell is that subject is horrifying.
Not only were the things they did horrifying, the fact apparently 400k people were captured and not a single one made it out alive is both sad and disturbing.
Yeah I was watching this last night at 1am and had to turn it off
It's easy to see why WaW and Bo1 Zombies had so much character after understanding the effort the devs went through to present a concise universe grounded to real life conspiracies, urban legends, and declassified/uncovered military atrocities. The humor of the four main characters is the only thing separating the mode from straight up horror, considering the art direction, setting, and audio of these maps. Most if not all of the qualities leading to this perfect balance (the magic of "OG Zombies") were lost after the first two games.
lex is really the only person to learn about unit 731 and say "zetsubou was real?"
It's impossible to understand the true gravity of the subject matter until you look it up yourself. My mind was blown when I clicked that link on the KT-4 CoD Zombies wiki page
After seeing the braaaains in the trailer, I think 100% its just a way for the devs to get 1st person zombie shots for trailers, with no actual gameplay implications. Just a cool cinematic tool for the devs to use.

Not only do the Nazi’s march and the Japanese do martial art stances, but the Spetsnaz zombies on Ascension crawl and roll on the ground when you aim at them in BO1, don’t know about the Zombies Chronicles version though
I really hope there are more zombies gamemodes in Cod 2024. Bring back grief, turned, ect

It's so surprising how some of this stuff is still brand new knowledge to hardcore fans. It sucks how most of these elements and storylines are gone due to the new Dark Aether storyline. Side note: 400k people went into that facility not even one person made it out alive, even just barely?!

Zetsubou No Shima takes place Nan Madol on Pohnpei island and unit 731 was in Harbin, China. While division 9 is more than likely based off of unit 731 it doesn’t take place there.

I just read the Wikipedia page for unit 731, which loosely inspired Zetsubou. It has gotta be the most fucked up and vile historical occurrence I have ever read

OMG it just dawned on me that the story of group 731 that Zet is based on is also what a sci fi short story I read for college was based on. It was so hard to read because it was so inhumane and gut wrenching. If anybody is interested in reading that short story, it is called The Man Who Ended History by Ken Liu. Proceed with caution because it is not an easy read, but it is certainly interesting.
I think nikolai imaging that he killed his wives in many gruesome and intimate ways makes so much sense, nikolai blames himself for his wives death and his nightmares imagine him being the direct cause of her death as his imagination brutally tortures him.
