      Well, there was yeast and bacteria that made it all possible. All of the chemical changes came from yeast eating the sugar and excreted EtOH (alcohol) and then bacteria consumed the EtOH and excreted acetic acid. That's right, apple cider vinegar is bacteria piss.

    • @diannadavis1362
      @diannadavis1362 7 месяцев назад

      making vinegar requires 2 fermentations , the first or primary fermentation converts the sugars to alcohol , the secondary fermentation occurs when the acetobacter converts the alcohol to acedic acid. When both fermentations are complete there will be no sugar or alcohol left only vinegar. @@abdullahalmahin9070

I know it took you a long time to make the video (let alone the vinegar, the mother, etc.) I have two apple trees and every year I strive and struggle to preserve and use as many apples as I can. But I was getting tired of making things that are sweet. Although I don't add any sugar to my apple sauce or butter, it's still plenty sweet. I'm glad to find your video. (How come I didn't think to make vinegar -- is just mystery to me as I LOVE vinegar and fermenting things.) I'm currently in my kitchen with boxes and bowls of apples. Gourmet Vegetarian Kitchen this one of the best videos about making Cider Vinegar .
    A tip; Use the core of the apple and don't remove it because this has a very high level of nutrients. You can remove some seeds out of it. I have saved yuur video to my favorites.

      The apples pieces should not expose to the air for a long period of time, other wise unwanted mold can take over. Sorry to hear that you had to throw away your work. Hope you try again, its really worth it!

    It's apple season in the Baltics now and many people set out their extra apples to share (everyone has trees and funny that they only pick what they can easily reach so the tops of trees stay full until the snow comes). I don't have a garden but I have 8 jars fermenting with 2 jars every 4 days and perhaps more to start just as the early batches are ready to strain. Thanks for the great video of step-by-step.
