Question: if I get there by 8 or 9, can I pick a spot or do I have to meet at the access points of entry and get in line? Where did you enter into Times Square?
People cringe when the word "diapers" is mentioned, but I will say for those folks, you need to get over yourself. I am in no way suggesting this should be a normal, every day thing, but for extreme circumstances it really works! It is better than sitting or standing (or floating in an Astronaut realm) in pain for hours. Adult diaper products nowadays are amazingly adept, holding both smell and 'yellow' liquid at bay. My wife and I have attended more than one public event in a large open area and see people (usually girls) with miserably wet pants. If toilets are reasonably available (i.e. they do they exist and lines are less than an hour??), of course that is what you should use. Finally, here is a tip...if you do wear a diaper, don't wait till you are about ready to burst open. First of all, the diaper can't soak up a really-gotta-go-bad stream. It's gonna leak all over...and then what is the point of wearing one in the first place? Small, short spurts...long before you really gotta go...and you will be fine for hours. I promise, nobody but you will know! More important, your event will be lots more fun without an overloaded bladder. Plus, everybody knows that minimal water intake is not the best for your body.
Lol do you hear yourself? I’m not going to any event where I’m gonna need diapers to not shit or piss myself. I mean more power to you but I way rather watch on tv from the comfort of my living room where I can enjoy friends and take a monster dump anytime I want!
Heyy! So this is gonna sound crazy but I’m planning on flying from Kansas to New York to be there for ONE night! Not planning on bringing anything but the clothes I have and some small things. But are small bags allowed? Or is that a complete no? This’ll be my first time to New York!
AJ Harvey hey! That’s awesome! And no, I’ve heard they are even more strict on bags so they’d probably turn you away or have you come back without a bag. Hope that helps!! Have fun! It’s a once in a lifetime experience!! Good luck! 🍀👍🏼
Thank you so much for the advice!! Even though it’s a few years later than when you recorded this.. being 2020 I made the trip and look forward to experience the biggest party in the world!! Again thank you!!
L E B A N G T A N J I N S good question about the mini signs, I’m not sure however. I believe that they may allow it if it’s something you can put away in your coat pocket. There were many people that had selfie sticks out, but again that was in 2016. There is not a definite way to select a cattle pin to stand on. I’m fact, at times we’d be in line to go through security for one and the police would have us stand in another line for a different pin. The best way to ensure you get that you want is to get there as early as you can (I’d say no later than than 8-9am). Best of luck! 🍀✨👍🏼
I’m going for the first time this year 😁 so, I’m planning on going around 10 or 11 so I can snatch a spot close to the stage, how is the entrance situation like? I’m aware there’s multiple like security entrance checkpoints but let’s say I want to be in a specific pen/section, will I be able to choose and enter whichever one I want or do they set me into whichever one they put me in? 💛 loved this vid it was really helpful
Good question: so you can try and walk up to the section you want if there’s a line and they may let you in that one but sometimes they’ll just assign you to the next available if they foresee it filling up. That’s the part I was encouraging patience about because it was frustrating being told different things from the security force running things 😅 (I would never want their job lol). Good luck and have fun!
have some self respect.... and dont be a fucking idiot tourist.... you really wanna pay all that money to wear a diaper in public...... you sir are a fucking moron!
Let me ask you this. I have a very weak bladder. I never wore a diaper before as an adult and I never have went to the ball drop on New Year's Eve before. Should I really bring adult diapers with me?
Hey! Love your video, you have great charisma, thank you for the tips! I have a question, which section or cattle do you recommend the most to see the ball drop and the stage where the singers perform? thank you
Thanks! It's def a once in a lifetime experience (but it's not for everyone ;-] )! I would say to get there early NYE morning to get into the first or second cattle pins in order to see the singers. I could see them but they were very hard to see from the 7-8th cattle pin that I was in. However, I had a great view of the ball falling (which was my only wish lol) so no complaints from me! Best of luck!!!
If you don’t mind I have a question. I’m going to Times Square today and I want to know what time I should get there to stand at the front or at least anywhere close to get to see the performance stage because there is an artist I want to see or do they choose for you😅😅💖💖 Happy New Years.
I'm staying at a hotel on 45th st, 2 blocks away from 7th av. When it gets close to midnight, will I be able to walk to 7th av to get a view of the ball drop? Or will police most likely be blocking people from going to different blocks?
I went in 2016 so things may have changed but based on my experience no you will not be able to walk there. The police were actively turning people away who tried to walk along the sidewalks. So if you’ve got a view from your hotel your best bet is staying put 😊. I hope you have fun regardless of where you get to watch! It’s once in a lifetime 💕
Thanks for the video. Some great advice. Are the sidewalks still open in Times Square once they start putting people in barricades? I know you have to go thru a check point and then, like you said, get put into groups with barricades. Was wondering if I could be walking on a sidewalk while the ball drops without being in a barricade? Standing for 12 hrs does not sound fun! I'm staying in a hotel 1 block away from the ball drop, but want to be outside when the ball drops.
JD Slats thanks! great question and no, the police were VERY strict about this... it was actually hilarious to see them with megaphones after a few hours... but no, at least when I went, sidewalks are for official personal/ police/ EMT etc. Good luck!!
This year i am going, i hope handle the cold weather because i am from a very Hot City, what time do you recomend get there? Thanks and i like your voice
thank you for posting this video. I am from london and visiting nyc for nye ALONE! ..I have so many questions...initially i was considering to stand in times sq for 12 hours...yeah I need to hit the spa in my hotel first....which is why i am looking for a hotel that has a rooftop bar/view of times square..any tips for which hotels i can check out? so im not going times square but am hoping that my hotel is close enough to it...i was wondering is there anything to do in new york after midnight? i was thinking of staying out all night so i could save money on my hotel booking and just book my hotel from the 1st of jan onwards...i know there are some clubs that have nye parties till 3 am...but this isnt late enough...i need to be occupied till daylight then i can start doing touristy things...i think sleep is going to be impossible during this trip. i fly back on the 2nd haha...so i am tryna squeeze in everything in on 31st and 1st. thank you in advance :}
Thank you for the tips! How late would you say you could get there and still make it in? I’ve heard people come at 8 am and 2 pm. What’s the latest time you could go and still get it? How early do the areas fill up?
Happy to help any way I can, it's not something that is for everyone for sure. We sort of took turns squatting on our knees every few hours so I did or I would let my friend lean on me or I'd lean on them but sadly no, they don't allow you to sit. That's another HUGE benefit to getting into the first of the line for a new cattle pin sorting so that you can lean on the bar to help! Best of luck if you dare brave it out there ;-)!
Great tips! Ive just booked a ticket to go back at 1:15. And the bus stop is about 20 mins away from Time Square. I don't know if I could make it to the bus stop on time...
I’m watching your tips after I didn’t get there, cause I came very late. I didn’t think that it could be so difficult. And bag packs is not allowed. I had to go to the hotel to drop it. Also I saw at the gates a lot of backpacks, they were threw out by travelers. I don’t know where are their things, might be they took with them in the hands🤷♂️🤷♂️ And if you came very late like 7 pm and later you won’t reach Time Square. It could be sense that the police was invited you to the party, but actually they blocked one-two blocks very close to Time Square and all people will be staying just on the streets that are close to Time Square. Some people have written they wanted to come from another state. I came from Russia, but not at this times..
@UCF_JOmluZqXedQV8CnTJJXQ They always recommend having everyone in NYC wear Adult Diapers during the Holidays such as New Years Eve (or during any big event anywhere) cause not only will they feel Clean, Comfortable, & Lucky w/o loosing their spot, but it actually feels super fun to wear.
Thanks for posting this very helpful video but I think it should be noted that this event is just not for everyone. I live in NYC and there are plenty of better free places to be then squished in cattle guards for 10 - 12 hours with no place to "GO" pun intended. :) FYI this event is free too, always has been, always will be, for those who asked. Beware of scammers trying to sell you tickets.
@@karyanna06 Sorry my reply is too late for this year. Central Park, Battery Park, Prospect Park in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Bridge (That may be quite crowded though. it is every day of the year.), Coney Island.
Amazing tips. Thank you. This is my last year living in New York and I've never done the ball drop. I want to do it this year. I have a medical condition and I don't think I can stand for 12+ hours. If I got into one of the "bull pins," would there be enough room for me to at least sit on the ground for a few minutes at a time?
I’ve lived in NYC for 46 years so far and never ever went to see the ball drop. I’m not an idiot to stand out in the freezing cold just to see a ball drop. That makes no sense to me. I just watch it on tv where it’s nice and warm.
I was in Paris with my lady for New Year’s Eve two weeks ago. Planning NYE this year. I can’t deal with standing all day and can’t use the bathroom. What about these restaurants in Times Square that have a 2nd level where you can walk out to see the ball drop but still be inside and party for the night. Do you know anything about that?
I’ve lived in NYC all of my life. No real New Yorker would be caught dead there. Instead of standing in the cold and holding it in for hours, watch it on TV with friends and family while enjoying pizza.
HimeMurasakiPrincess it takes a good bit to get out once the ball has dropped...it also just depends on where you’re standing and if that’s near a bus stop or subway. As for bathrooms, there are some several blocks away from Times Square in a 24 hr drug store. But there are no bathrooms while you’re actually the event. Hope that helps!
could you go there at 10 pm? I understand that I won't have a clear view but I just wanna be in the city once and experience the atmosphere but don't wanna wait there for too long... And I also don't wanna spend too much money. And in addition to that I'm still under 21 for a couple more months
Dario B I’m not sure about this. I do know you can go to NYC whenever you’d like, however- they will not allow people to just stand around if you’re anywhere near Time Square. The police are actively walking any area that isn’t sectioned off and turning people away. Again, this was my experience in 2016 so perhaps there have been changes but from what I know, what you’re asking will more than likely not work. However, if you do try it I wish you the best of luck! 👍🏼😊
Thank you so much! Yes so did I get this right that they have only a certain amount of "boxes" where you can stand and once they are full it's pretty much impossible to see the ball drop? Or do they keep filling up those "boxes" until lets say midnight? Sorry for all those questions
Dario B no worries! Yes, they have a certain amount of spaces and after they fill up, they do not permit anyone standing around to watch (to the best of my knowledge). Good luck! 🍀👍🏼
Any Armys going? This year is going to be chaotic since people are coming to see ball drop and BTS is coming as well. I’m considering it for BTS 🥺. If I go after work around 5 pm that day, can I see anything or they won’t let me stay? I just want to breathe the same air as BTS lol, forget seeing them up close 😔.
It is so stupid that a Korean boy group is coming to America to perform in an American celebration event , they don't speak English and their songs aren't in English and no American people understand a word of Korean language. Our government should've turned them away since they are part of a country that hates the United States.
@UCWG1OnBCnA2gaUCqzI-ZNlw i know my government cares about me because i have family that are government employees and an aunt and cousin that is in the FBI and CIA and they do an important job which is keeping our country's citizens safe from threats inside and outside by countries such as Korea , i don't give a shit what you say about those boys I'll never like them and never will , you just like them because you are a female and that's the thing that makes me laugh because you more than likely have absolutely no idea what they are singing about since you're not korean.
George Honeytoast at first it was, but honestly it's the least of your worries after not sitting down for 12+ hours. You forget you're wearing them...that is if you don't end up using them. If I had used mine I'm not sure what that would be like. But infants and elderly wear them all the time so I figured I could rough it out for a day. So glad I did! :)
I guess that's true. I was planning on going next year and had wondered if people did this. My biggest concern was that someone would know I was wearing one, but my girlfriend pointed out that if we did wear them, then most likely quite a few people around us would be wearing too lol
George Honeytoast that's something I was embarrassed/concerned about at first but honestly several people around us said they were doing the same thing. And I couldn't tell they were wearing them. If you do go, I'd splurge on the one you get so that it's the most like regular underwear (they make them for men and women) and you'll be fine. Another fact to consider, it's so cold and you'll have so many layers on that it really won't be noticeable unless you're out there in leggings or tights. Any normal pants conceal them just fine. Good luck!
Haha, I'd love to know how that conversation went! But the fact that it sounds like people are so laid back and cool with it, even if they could tell, really makes me feel a whole lot better about it (: . And thank you!
And that's why we native new Yorkers never bothered. In your apt or house, got food, drink and toilet. Get to see the whole shin dig go down in the comfort of your house.
Roberto Pérez I honestly don’t recall us using the subway but I know most of the busses are free after the event. I took the subway into Manhattan and then the Staten Island Ferry after it was all over... good luck though!!
Yes. Subways very save. Lots of police around. I would never do this event though. Just not for me. FYI, Some Subway entrances will be blocked during the event but reopen after the event. Go to the official MTA.INFO site and get the phone app to stay informed.
I looked up the Ferry and it dosn't look like they run after 7pm. do they have special hours for new years? if so do you know how late they run? Thanks! @@BriMyselfAndEye_Ballroom
Kasey Moore I honestly don’t recall that being an issue really. However, I was standing right up to the front of our cattle guard bars so I had a whole open street in front of me. I really don’t really recall seeing anyone smoking in the cattle pins. That’s a good question though! Good luck! 👍🏼🍀
No restrooms available, so you need to be smart about it....? Congrats to those who can survive so many hours without having....to...go... . Then are those who...go... stuck together with everyone else.....That's just insane.
This is insane, standing in a pen like cattle, except the cows get to eat, drink, crap, and piss! You won't catch any New Yorkers trying to do something like this! Only the tourists. Sounds more like a Pilgrimage to Shrine, then a celebration! How in the world do women stand by for 12 hours, without going is beyond my imagination. CRAZY!😕
Will be honest, I do wear adult diapers for emergency situations like travelling an school trips

Thank you so, so much! This was super useful!
I’ve lived in NYC for 46 years so far and never ever went to see the ball drop. I’m not an idiot to stand out in the freezing cold just to see a ball drop. That makes no sense to me. I just watch it on tv where it’s nice and warm.
The idiots who travel to see it are mide westerners and fucked up Californians. Im a native new yorker and never been there.
Expensive .
Joseph Forest But to me, definitely worth it.
Great video! I just booked to go this year XD
Great idea's because one time I would love to go to New York on New Year's eve..I'm 44 so gotta move..
What time are you allowed in to the pins?
I’ve lived in NYC all of my life. No real New Yorker would be caught dead there. Instead of standing in the cold and holding it in for hours, watch it on TV with friends and family while enjoying pizza.
Leonard Wilson well said , lived in nyc all my life never went , but have to be honest at 36 I’m getting curious
So what it’s about the experience I’m sure all the people who have gone don’t regret it. People go for a reason.
Thank you!! Going this year!!!
i'm just wondering how long its takes for people to get out of the crowd after the ball dropped. even worse, how do people go to the bathroom? lol
HimeMurasakiPrincess diaper
could you go there at 10 pm?
Also, the event is free! 👍🏼😉
Good luck! 🍀👍🏼
What’s the earliest we should get there to get in the front of the pen (space)?
Cara Mckeown I would say around 8-9am at the latest. Good luck! 👍🏼🍀🥳
@@josephbennett3482 literally no one asked?? Keep your opinions to yourself and let people like what they like
Joseph Bennett ok boomer
Where did you get the water from?
Was it not uncomfortable wearing a diaper for like 12 hours??
Oh those soundchecks sound horrible? You should have been there for Mariah Carey the next year.
This is very helpful thank u
Now no bags.
not even crossbody?
Did you have to buy a ticket ?
Kyzer Delbusto not where I was standing, to my knowledge the event is free
And that's why we native new Yorkers never bothered. In your apt or house, got food, drink and toilet. Get to see the whole shin dig go down in the comfort of your house.
Thank you!
Is it safe to return in subway at finish?
Here’s a thought, don’t fucking go!,,,
What street is it on?
Brittney Young it’s near Broadway & 43rd
So what about vapes and cigarettes? I would love to go but I don’t want to have smoke and vape blown in my face for 12 hours lol
Kasey Moore I honestly don’t recall that being an issue really. However, I was standing right up to the front of our cattle guard bars so I had a whole open street in front of me. I really don’t really recall seeing anyone smoking in the cattle pins. That’s a good question though! Good luck! 👍🏼🍀
Im goin ny with friends watch ball drop 2019 first time excited about it
Same here I'm so excited
Me too. I will be in Times sq for NYE to welcome 2020
I'm ready 😂😂
Rule Number One -Don’t Go
I recommend wearing Adult Diapers if you do go there so that you feel lucky.
CRAZY!😕
I’m only going there for BTS
"AMAZING WITH CHALLENGES" IS PC TALK FOR MISERABLE!
Jaxxon Balboa lol perhaps 🤣😆😜
How disappointing about the bathrooms the whole experience sounds so not worth it
Got daym home girl looking like a snack 🤤
who would want to experience this? sounds painful and for what? for a ball made from china to drop? no thank you.
Stay out of NYC
