It's pure shit. The only good thing you have to say about is is a saving grace, in that for the price it looks somewhat like other modern slop that you can buy new. Having an engine made in China that's small displacement and boosted is a recipe for disaster down the line. 1.5L making 154HP is a major red flag, Honda achieved 100HP per L of displacement naturally aspirated in the 90s. They have used a turbo to make up for the fact they are over 30 years behind the rest of the automakers. The additional heat and pressure the engine will be subjected to means you need more trust that the engineers know what they're doing, can you say that of some Chinese Government brand called Chery? Additionally, it's very ugly and completely soulless. Chery as a name indicates the hollow nature of this effigy of a car - A mis-pronunciation of the word Chevy (GM has sued them for creating copies of their cars numerous times)
Would be nice if a reviewer took 20 minutes to read the manual and set the car up properly to suit their needs. The lane assist can be sorted in the settings also the beeping and alarm volumes can all be turned down so they are not anoying. Also as far as handling goes the main buyers for this vehicle won't even know or care about vehicle handling. Our Omoda 5 that we have had since day 1 release has been perfect. u can trust chery compare with 10yrs ago. my mates never trusted car made in China 10yrs ago, they r Chinese though. only people are poor would buy chery. but now even Chinese in middle class who favor chery GWM byd over European cars. my relative purchased a chery sedan 4yrs ago. it has been 100000miles on the metre. except for brakes pads n oil change. not any other issues.
I will choose mahindra xuv 700 against it
There were Omoda 5 demo car being displayed at a shopping mall last week.
Although the interior layout is nice, materials used on door trims, panels, dashboard etcs are acutally not great. It's soft plastic but you can feel that it's quite thin. Finishing is also not up to the mainstream average standard. It looks good on video or photos though.
Driveaway is 32k or 35k higher spec as recalled but would prefer other brands in terms of long-term reliability etc.
