I visited the Ava Gardner museum a few years ago. It was fascinating to see her costumes and personal items. She was a great beauty and a fine actress who transformed herself from a simple country girl to a sophisticated international icon. She went to high school in Newport News, Va. where l was born.

Yes, "Lavinia" was a very popular name back in the day, especially in the Southern USA. I expect it will make a great comeback at some point - as all of these lovely names eventually do.
