The only thing I can mention that you missed on the drivetrain and engine is you can only get FWD with the 3 cyl turbo. You can only get 4WD with the 4cyl NA.
It should be available in the U.S. with a manual transmission, at least in the FWD trim. Otherwise, I wouldn't consider this car. I will never buy an automatic, period.
Yea. A lot of editors and reviewers hated on this car. America has a large population of size Queens. 👑 These queens are insecure in smaller SUV's.....are they overcompensating for something else????? Glad I don't have that problem! ;) Anyways, KBB was very positive towards the Ford EcoSport. The main critique I noticed from articles was that the EcoSport has lackluster powertrains, especially the 1.0 3cyl. Well, I enjoy Ford design and decided I'd give a used, AWD, Ford ES Titanium a try. Sure, the 2.0 (direct injection) engine wasn't a rumbler but, 166hp isn't meager either. It's adequate for it's intended purpose and it's something I decided I can easily live with. What stood out was the poised stance of the vehicle, the heated leather seats, the heated steering wheel, the moonroof, the AWD feature.... (living in Montana) ;and last bit not least, this Bang and Olufsen sound system sounds superb! And of course, you can adjust treble, mids, and bass according to music 🎵 genre and preference. And the way, the manner in which the rear hatch opens is pretty unique and creative. I love the quirkiness and practicality of this vehicle. I'm glad I see past the negative reviews and see this vehicle for it's attractive and useful attributes. I look forward to driving it off the lot tomorrow. I was pre-approved tonight!!!
I've bought a Fiesta but it got a recall and they gave me this one for 3 weeks as replacement... I think i'm in love with it... seriously. Feels much better than even Audi or Seat Leon. The gear changer, i have a manual, it feels a bit rough and it is positioned a bit far away in front (for me at least) but other than that fk hell.. absolute awesomeness!
An excellent video GP. I just bought a 2018 SE with 33,000 mi, in black. This is in a mint condition, just like new. All I need now is Weather Tec mats for winter.
I bought a 2020 AWD titanium, it’s a nice little car and I love the bang and olfson sound system. I like how it drives like a fiesta but has the reliable ford 2.0 Duratec and 6f35 automatic. I didn’t like the 28,500 price tag for such a small suv but my trade in paid off what I still owed and 11k off of the ecosport.
$3750 in incentives now in the US. Rules: Always buy a lower trim up level than a loaded down level vehicle. There is now value in them. But in this case you might get a more enjoyable car with the down level as the Fiesta/ EcoSport chassis is so good!
I have a 2018 SES myself. I chose this specific one over a Titanium because the SES had 9000 miles, and the Titanium had 30000. It's the closest I've ever had to a new car, and in regards to features, is my best vehicle to date. And to point something out, unless they changed it before the 2020 models came out, the rear seats can fold flat. You have to flip the bottom of the rear seat vertical against the back of the front seats, and then you can fold down the backs of the rear split seats.
@@jacobcsmith makes sense.. Fords marketing team has always used confusing marketing names. So... Its not an "echoboost" engine too, is it?? Im pretty sure its pronounced ECO. SOOO..how does that work??!?!

Nice little SUV! I like the design with the kind of bigger daylight running lights and blinker section. The rims look really neat too! and of course the opening mechanism for the trunk is an eye catcher!! Amazing what they put together for this low price, although a 3-cylinder engine with 6 speed auto and AWD might not be the most powerful or smooth combination... :D
Thank you so very much for a tremendous detailed Review. There are awesome Vehicle discounts now because of Covid-19. I really wanted the Mazda CX-3 but it’s too expensive for my budget. The Ford EcoSport SE is more affordable especially with the discounts, it has everything I want and need. This is the first Review I’ve looked at and I already know yours is going to be hard to beat. I could really stop looking now because you covered everything I could think of. I’ll try to find a Reviewer that is actually reviewing the SE.
I have the 2020 Ecosport. I enjoy driving it. The only thing I don't like is that there is no spare tire. You're given a bottle of fix-a-flat and a machine to use to inflate the flat tire. The fix lasts 50 miles. I would prefer a spare tire.
so, the parts from the 09 fiesta still fill up the warehouses or why does ford still use 11 year old parts? its like buying a brand new model in the year 2000 and seeing, that some parts are still the same to the car from 1989...
I just saw when shopping this segment that through January, Ford has $ 3500 - incentives for this vehicle. That means you can get an AWD S for under $18K USD. Plus you get the 2 Litre engine with a 6 speed auto - not a CVT. Worth more than a second glance. And, yes they are Made in India in a Mahindra-Ford collaboration You know this as the VIN start with a " MA ----------------. I also plan to cross shop the Jeep (FIAT) Renegade which also has good incentives no, but wont get you under 20K USD. Cheers! - Sandy
what a great review. I recently drove this car and the build quality and options were on par with that of BMW, however, the speed and suspension and handling was not on par with BMW.. The transmission was a bit slow and I wasn't able to overtake cars on the freeway as fast as I am able to do so in a BMW. But I would serious consider buying this car.
Just traded my 2019 Ecosport Titanium in on a 2020 Ecosport Titanium. Ford has so e really aggressive rebates right now. Couldn't pass it up. I had positive equity in my 2019. Got nearly $7000 off with rebates and dealer discount. I went with another FWD version. I disagree with fuel mileage numbers. I can typically average 35 MPG with 1.0L Ecoboost. Different for 2020 is a new version of the SYNC system compared to last year model. Also my insurance significantly dropped while updating to the 2020.
i got a ford fiesta manual trans, but im afraid to buy this eco sport due to their trans problem.. any suggestion/? do i still stick to manual trans eco sport???
Stick with the manual transmission, no pun intended. Fords with automatics have had many problems, not worth the headache. Plus, Ford's manual transmission is excellent.
The EcoSport's automatic transmission does not use the same problematic 'automated manual' on Fiestas and Focuses, so that won't be a problem. Plus, you can't buy an EcoSport with a manual transmission in the USA.
I don’t think Ford understands the connotation of the word “eco.” I expect to see something that’s either a hybrid, or a small engine that’s incredibly good on fuel economy when you call something the “eco” sport. Just like the rest of their lineup that uses “eco-boost” engines that have nothing to do with anything “eco” other than the use of turbos. Surely Ford pays a marketing company a lot of money to come up with this stuff, and that’s the best they could do?
Thanks for the review. Dose the all-wheel drive work all the time, or does it turn off at a certain speed? On some subcompact suvs, all-wheel drive shuts off at 20 miles. As far as I remember Hyundai and Kia have such a limitations
Most AWD shuts off around 20-30 mph. Better for fuel economy. It'll kick back in if you hit a slippery patch or something though. But yes, like most it shuts off. It's not full time AWD like a Subaru, which is great but can get expensive with tires.
Also notice ur 2 twetter speakers in the front pillars don't have the aluminum b&o badging, a little circle that says b&o, I know some its trivial, but to me music is one of most important parts of the car, the 6 speaker is 180 watts the 7 speaker is 280 watts and the b&o 10 speaker in the titanium is 675 watts with 9 separate channels, i almost got a velositor Hyundai and its top of the line model is the 8 speaker Sony 400 watt system, I thought that was impressive but let's be honest, b&o makes 10000 dollar speakers, so 10 speaker 675 watts b&o blows aways Sony 400 watt 8 speakers it just does
Love Fords. Did have a Camaro and Blazer which hubby had to put new lifters in both GM products. Have a 2000 Ford Focus looks brand new and now 21 yo. Guess I will keep her.
Since the price went up in Belgium it gets real hard to sell the ecosport. Ford is too costly in Belgium and customers have to redirect to multibrand wholesalers like Cardoen to get a new affordable Ford.
@E ZA at this moment we have some new Focus wagons mostly corporate fleet cars. No Puma, very few Fiesta, some Mondeo and no Edge nor Explorer on our roads. The Ranger is rare and the Mustang is very rare to be seen. Ford is too costly, simple as that.
@E ZA thanks to Fords arrogance they puched themselves out of the market. There is no French speaking Belgian that even can communicate with a Holland based client hub that does not speaks one word in French. Regularly American brands like the FCA group (Jeep, Fiat, Alfa) offer new cars without the 21per cent VAT. Ford apparently can't think of that. Up till now I did not see a single new Kuga riding here and I saw 2 new Pumas. Well that tells it all... Ariverdeci Ford! We do Dacia, Renault, Peugeot, Kia and Hyundai instead and at three quarters of the price.

Not sure I like that rear "lift gate". To me it's a door, plain and simple. And you better hope you don't park somewhere where another vehicle parks behind you and you need to get in there. Because you won't get in there. Plus, when the rear door is open, it creates a blindspot for anybody sneaking up on you. Other than that, neat little vehicle that I just might consider, because my wife wants to go small.
Yes I agree with you about the back door I think Ford is trying to copy Kia with the soul by making a small SUV but I hate the kia soul and not a fan of the echo sport

Yeah, most prices for a new car are too high
$3750 in incentives now in the US. Rules: Always buy a lower trim up level than a loaded down level vehicle. There is now value in them. But in this case you might get a more enjoyable car with the down level as the Fiesta/ EcoSport chassis is so good!
I bought the 2018 4WD Titanium and I LOVE IT!
Any good in snow?
Good review!
Only error in found in the review is the steering IS telescoping, at least on the Titanium version. Not sure about the rest.
Also telescopes on the S and SE per the window stickers online from Apple Ford Red Lion inventory.
Ford "echo" sport with the "eco" boost engine

Nice little SUV! I like the design with the kind of bigger daylight running lights and blinker section. The rims look really neat too! and of course the opening mechanism for the trunk is an eye catcher!! Amazing what they put together for this low price, although a 3-cylinder engine with 6 speed auto and AWD might not be the most powerful or smooth combination... :D

Thank you so very much for a tremendous detailed Review. There are awesome Vehicle discounts now because of Covid-19. I really wanted the Mazda CX-3 but it’s too expensive for my budget. 8K off for a S model 4 wheel drive.
I have the 2020 Ecosport. I enjoy driving it. The only thing I don't like is that there is no spare tire. You're given a bottle of fix-a-flat and a machine to use to inflate the flat tire. The fix lasts 50 miles. I would prefer a spare tire.

When I saw the eco sport on the road, I thought the back right taillight was broken.
Interesting design Ford.
so, the parts from the 09 fiesta still fill up the warehouses or why does ford still use 11 year old parts? its like buying a brand new model in the year 2000 and seeing, that some parts are still the same to the car from 1989...
They are selling this from 2012 in india only with fwd now after sales go down they announced they are updating it and will also launch bigger suv

Is it big enough for big guys? Looking for a commuter.
What’s the aftermarket upgrades for this vehicle?
I don’t think Ford understands the connotation of the word “eco.” I expect to see something that’s either a hybrid, or a small engine that’s incredibly good on fuel economy when you call something the “eco” sport. Just like the rest of their lineup that uses “eco-boost” engines that have nothing to do with anything “eco” other than the use of turbos. Surely Ford pays a marketing company a lot of money to come up with this stuff, and that’s the best they could do?
they want us to pronounce it as echo. Also who is their management? So many bad decisions. They were almost wiped out from india..
Rishav I get that, but same problem. Agree there’s so many absurd decisions from them recently. They seem lost.
The only problem i have is they call AWD 4wd when they are two different mechanisms
So cute car 😍
How does the ecosport compare to the kia seltos
Nice!

Your presentation very smart
Since the price went up in Belgium it gets real hard to sell the ecosport. Ford is too costly in Belgium and customers have to redirect to multibrand wholesalers like Cardoen to get a new affordable Ford.
@E ZA no Ford is over in Belgium.

I have the car and the one compromise I made was the rear door. It’s a pain in the rear literally. I’m trying to park away from other cars anyway. I haven’t been in the city or a tight space yet but not looking forward to that.
When the ecosport launch in India the spare tyre is inside
