@@garynelles Hi Gary, if i can humbly offer a suggestion... In the video you mention that your marking gauge tends to be difficult when marking the end grain. I find that if i use a pin style gauge for end grain, it doesn't want to wander as much as the wheel style. And don't get me wrong, i have 2 wheel gauges and i love them. I use them for just about everything, except end grain. Thanks again for the video! I hope it's ok that my Roubo is going to end up looking a lot like yours. What can i say... I like the way you do things. Take care!
Yah hey Gary. I’m Shane from Nova Scotia. Great to meet you. I’ve watched a few of your videos this evening and I’m subscribed! Love your calm approach. Looking forward to more content. Thanks for taking the time.
Hey Shane. Nice to have you along for the ride! I’m starting to learn that there are people out there who actually do not want flashy stupid, dramatic videos, so I appreciate you reinforcing that to me.
I absolutely love the details on your chop. It’s so elegant and pleasing to the eye! I just found your channel and instantly subscribed. Can’t wait to see your future work.
Michael thank you so much for your kind words and watching my video. I appreciate it! I wish more people left comments because it helps motivate me to create more videos.
Very elegant chop indeed. I’m building my Roubo too but my chop is a little bit bigger (240mm wide X 70mm thick). Would you recommend the same cuts than yours ? Thank you.
Hi Eric. I’m glad you like my chop design. I think you could go ahead and do the same cuts that I made because the measurements are only slightly bigger than how I made mine so I think it should basically look the same. If not, it’s not like somebody is going to be looking at both of our benches at the same time to be able to tell the difference. Haha! Thank you for watching my video. I appreciate it!
Glad you liked the video. Yes it’s a 5 1/2 (Wood River). It’s a great plane. Thanks for watching and commenting, it really helps the RUclips algorithm!
Thanks for the video, I just finished cutting mine and everything went so smoothly following the steps
Awesome!
Yet again, Gary, I'm following your lead as it's just some of the best content out there. Shaping my chop tomorrow, will let you know how it goes!
Cool!

PS Chop could not have come out better!
Great,…. now I have to buy a pin style marking gauge!
