  • We will present in this video how calculate fiber density, fiber concentration and 8 hour TWAs for asbestos exposure samples. We will also explore a very basic application of statistics of fiber counting and apply it to a clearance sample.
    at 10:05. 100 fibers divided by 36 fields is 2.77 fibers/field. For some reason I went with 2.7. It should have been 2.77. But the math works out.
    at 28:24, the standard deviation of 14.2037 f/mm2 divided by the mean 244.6905 f/mm2 does not result in .070, the correct answer if you are doing the math is .058. I scripted this and did the math earlier for this problem on paper prior to the video of the statistics portion, and I have no idea what I did. Some of my students caught the error ... in class!!! Many thanks. Correct is better,... my ego will heal someday.
