- i am baffled by the end result 😩. i wonder if the ingredients somehow reacted with something in my skincare…?! this is the tirtir mask fit red cushion which went viral in japan. it was very kindly gifted ☺️
My goodness, it does oxidize heavily! Even so, your loveliness always shines through, makeup or none. I hope you're feeling better and perhaps less anxious. So happy the algorithm introduced me to your channel 💖
thank you so much lovely 🥹. i’ve been gently vegetating for the last few days and am definitely getting there mentally! sending you lots of love 🥰 xx
😊😊😊😅😅😅😊
or maybe it’s because of the powder and bronzer she used 💀
Love the red color
I have it and it does oxidizd heavily. Any suggestions?
hey!
quick tip: it's not meant to be applied that heavily; when you press the applicator into the sponge full of product, you are meant to then press the product-laden applicator into the flat black plastic plate of the container several times, to get a very thin even layer on the applicator. you then apply from the black plate to your face with the applicator.
that one press with the applicator into the product sponge should just about cover the whole face--- a single very very thin layer to begin with, which dries quite quickly, and then if it's not enough coverage, you go back in with another extremely thin layer. letting the product dry between layers is important. it does not oxidize so extremely when done this way.
it has never taken me more than three dips into the product sponge to do a very heavy full coverage face and neck, even on the most problematic skin days.
I'm sure someone else said this as well, but it isn't in the top 15 or so as I'm scrolling down, so I'm adding it in here. I hope that someone else has nice results with this technique! incidentally, this isn't my special technique: all this info is available from tirtir as the "official directions," but the language barrier has I think made it quite difficult to access for English speaking consumers. cheers!
It's so strange that this is the lightest shade, when Korean brands are usually known to have very fair shade ranges
yes!! usually korean foundations work so well for me!!
Because actually they are not, they have very narrow range of shades with no really dark ones, abd no actually pale ones, especially cool toned pale shades.
asian brands are on the warm side, because that's what their demographic usually is. The palest shade of revlon colorstay sold is ivory, so yellow toned.
@@KalciferLycoris i agree. The shades are pale for a Korean, not actually pale people. Korean people are genetically not able to be pale. I’m European living in Korea and I buy my foundations from western brands because they offer cool toned pale foundations. Korean foundations are really yellow but the reason is because their fitzpatrick skin type is 3 and higher which is only about golden and olive undertones
@@alcookie some Korean products do have really pale and cool toned foundation shades, but those are hard to find and purchase and they may oxidize slightly orange anyway
westerners, if you use asian products (especially korean products) please remember that heavy foundation is not popular. Foundation are applied as thinly as possible. Skincare is the foundation of asian makeup and natural look is very popular.
So true. I would say she applied way too much. We should see her skin show through.
Strongly agree with you! This is why I'm trying to incorporate some of the Asian skin and makeup routine since the natural look looks better on me than the heavy look.

@@loekh9550I really like the comparison of watercolour painting vs oil painting, that's such a good analogy
Yep, same sentiment here... I've got Too Cool for School and others and use so sparingly... X
I think it oxidised even more after you set it with a powder..coz usually these korean cushions are meant to give u glass skin and a dewy look and usually they dont set it much with powder or they use it only around the places where they are extra oily
Also Korean winters are apparently so dry that you'll get dry skin even if you're super oil
According to other comments this one oxidizes heavily regardless
Her skin looked like boiled eggs before settling it!
@@narsis273wdym
@@narsis273 what is that even supposed to mean...?
I found it oxidized very heavily with my Mercier pressed translucent powder, which does have a tint, but not at all with my Korean-brand pressed powder, which is white. I think this is more of a case of its texture grabbing and magnifying the color of the setting powder.
is it okay to ask what you mean about the makeup "oxidizing"? im not very familiar with makeup and this is the first ive heard of the term used for makeup
@nicolle2126 usually when people talk about it for foundation they mean when the foundation sets and gets darker. So like in this video u can see that the foundation gets more orange towards the end
@@nicolle2126foundation reacts with the air and becomes darker, exactly the same as a cut apple becoming darker if you leave it out on the table
basically when these foundations react with oxygen in the air after application, it tends to become darker, so always look out for how much certain foundations oxidise! I find that most drugstore makeup have this tendency@@nicolle2126
@@nicolle2126 yes, oxidizing is when something gets darker when it’s exposed to air or dries, sort of like how blood dries more brown or red wine gets more blue.
They don't set their makeup with powders, especially not talc or finely milled ones. This is likely what caused the oxidizing; most of their cushions have microencapsulated pigments that settle and "set" on their own after about 10 or so minutes of wear. Adding powder to get rid of the sheen defeats the purpose, as most, if not the great majority of their makeup wearers, prefer "dewy" or "glowy" finishes. This seems like it was an understandable user error. Edit: spelling.
i also have this and i don’t use any power nor anything but it still oxidizes heavily😭
This cushion is known for oxidation
This foundation oxidizes like CRAZY even without powder. I use Korean cushions all the time because I’m very pale and I like the finish, and I’ve never had one oxidize this badly before.
Does it? I wonder why, then. 😂 They're usually much better about long term wear testing. Maybe they didn't bother to correct it since they're marketing to a Western audience? They're famously bad about color matching when they're not marketing to a SE Asian audience
Yeah, no. It’s the foundation, not user error. It’s not a great product.
Apparently you're supposed to be super light handed with it, get the littlest amount on the cushion as possible and even dab it off, then build it up lightly. Otherwise it oxidized more like this
She's uses too much
The climate in SE Asia is very humid most of the year and works well with cushion foundations formula. Im not convinced that it would work for me (& my textured skin) here in the Deep South (U.S.). I’ve learned that some things just aren’t made for my skin and that’s ok! They look cool though
I have a fair bit of texture myself (mainly around my nose into my undereye and forehead) and live in W.Va. The clio kill cover mesh glow cushion and kill cover new founwear cushion are some of the best foundations I've tried. Definitely my go to.
@@Javajavajav No, but as many foundations as there are on the market, many brands have similar or the same formula. And I've seen people compare those cushions to one another.
@Javajavajav Op said cushions may not be their best bet because they live in the deep south (U.S) and have textured skin. I have textured skin and live in W.Va and was sharing my experience with cushions.
@@Javajavajav And tirtir is a korean brand.
@@ColeNaylor-ns4ukReread OP's comment, it definitely implies they think Korea is in SE Asia
Y is she talking like that 😂
I saw a Korean creator correct the application process which causes the oxidation!! You are supposed to dab onto the middle of the pad, dab off the pad on the little black part, then apply a thin layer!!
Before applying to face, tap off excess on the black side of the case. You don't need to apply so much. That's why it feels sticky. Less is more.
So for cushion foundations. There’s a way to use them. You’re supposed to get the product on the Center of the sponge then pat it on the back of the sponge holder. This makes the distribution of the cream even and absorbs it in to the sponge. Then you build up layer by layer as u wish. And that makes the finish not be sticky but perfectly set in. I’d suggest patting a considerable amount to have good control of how much coverage you get. Lastly. U must use these foundations on moistened skin. Use a toner or nice cream to prep the skin.
For korean cushion puff, you dont directly put the dipped puff to your face like how u wld do to a normal foundation, you tap the excess on the black cover of the cushion then apply the rest on to your face. This will prevent oxidation! ❤
Jeez thats quite a bit of oxidation! The packaging is lovely ❤❤
Olivia your skin gives me hope and makes me feel like I'm just fine the way I am. You are too. You look healthy. It's ok to have redness and blemishes. Thank you for showing them
I'm very pale and cool toned too, so when I use this I add my lightest foundation to the cushion and mix it in, it helps a lot.
What is your lightest foundation? And are there any brands with cool/pink undertones you'd recommend?
I saw someone who said we dont apply cushion foundation Directly to skin rather we should first tap the applicator on the surface of the cap so that it removes the excess product on the applicator then we apply it on the skin ( the black part of this foundation)
I feel you. I am pale too. I always get the palest neutral shade so it hopefully won’t do that when I buy foundation and concealers.
I struggle to find drugstore foundation in my shade because they're too dark as well. The clio kill cover foundation cushions are much better for pale people. I'm a shade 2-BP and there's one lighter and I believe two deeper shades.
Oh my god thank you for speaking softly! I hate it when makeup influencers (Americans mostly, no shade) yell into the phone like there isn’t a microphone built in. Like it’s ok to just speak softly😭😭😭
your voice is soothing I could literally fall asleep while listening
You’re not supposed to use such a thick layer, tap some excess product onto your hand for a thinner layer of application to get the smoothest base with little to no oxidation.
I think you added quite a bit. It’s meant to be spread out and dabbed in.
It looks super odd on you, like a totally different consistency to the one I have. Mine doesn't look so dewy, isn't sticky at all and dries matte. It has to, because it's meant to last 72 hours and is non-transferable. Either you've got a fake product, the wrong primer or you've used way too much.
Its the ring light. Thats why it looks dewy
It's the crap she has on before she applies it
She definitely used too much.
You are so lovely! You are meant to apply it in very fine layers. Tap the center of the pad on the foundation and use the side of the compact to tap excess foundation off. Then apply and that should help with oxidation 😊
Hi Olivia! I just wanted to tell you how much I love your vlogs! I’ve never liked watching vlogs until I’ve seen yours, they’re so relatable and I feel like we have so much in common which is lovely to see in a content creator! Keep up the amazing work💕
Can you tell me why she is whispering, then?
I love it. I use it. I’m 53, a few wrinkles but it still looks great at the end of the day
It looks like you put quite a thick layer on the first side, the thicker it is the more it will oxidize. I saw a K Beauty MUA video where she said exactly this, and how that one pat is probably enough for her whole face. Just the one video though. I’m expecting this to arrive any day, I am SO curious to know for myself!
The lightest shades are 13N and 13C!
You've used far too much and it works far better with very light layers.
I don’t think that would change the foundation turning orange…
You have to apply small amounts!
I liked the cushion, but it is a tiny bit too dark for me. Maybe into summer I can use it hah
hi! i just want to let you know that it oxidized and looked a little heavy because you applied it slightly wrong, it is helpful to squeeze out a lot of the product from your applicator onto the black plastic piece in the compartment for a nice thin layer :)
This is absolutely beautiful! You are absolutely beautiful as well ❤
I have been using this wonderful foundation for 2 weeks now, and it's fabulous ❤❤
It looks good, it did darken a good bit but it doesn't look orange. Might get a cushion foundation from an Asian brand seeing as I'm so pale. Love your channel 😊
It’s oxidizing because you’re not supposed to use that much, you need a light coverage. There’s a compartment where you can pat off excess foundation for a reason 😭
Whhhhyyy are you whispering!???
Woaaaah that oxidation 😮
It definitely did settle into your fine lines, you could really see it around your mouth at that last little smile you did. After I turned 30 I haven’t been able find a medium or full coverage foundation that doesn’t. Even though my fine lines are practically invisible without makeup, foundation makes them very noticeable, especially foundation set with high coverage powder like I used to use. I’ve just had to come to terms with the fact that full face foundation makes me look older now. So I just use a bb or cc cream (depending on how much coverage I want), then spot conceal and finish off with a light dusting of setting powder mostly on the places I spot concealed. I get much better results with this method than the medium coverage foundation and high coverage powder combo that I used to use generously, but that now just highlights the minor signs of aging I have.
Olivia, your apple 🍏 green nails caught my eye so pretty! I got a bottle of the Nars Light Reflective Foundation a little too light so I put in my MAC face and body foundation in C3, just bout the size of a 5p piece of both product’s mixed, I’m pale for me so the colour combination was fabulous! I must say I’m living for the blend of these they are the nicest I’ve ever saw any foundation sit in my skin! I’m in love! 😻 Have yet to try any Korean make up brands! - this definitely didn’t look as nice as your usual finishes! ❤
It could be the makeup she put on top of the foundation that turn orangey. It definitely was not yellow/warm tone in the beginning before added makeup.
It also just seems like a regular, high-coverage foundation could do that, like you said, it’s not like it’s making the pimples and wrinkles disappear, it’s just covering the redness
I tried this... I went a shade lighter than my normal shade, and actually wasn't too bad, you are apparently meant to use the black plain panels to dab excess off... So there's not as much product... Then it sort of gives a lovely natural finish too
Tip: primark concealers oxidise very orange. I get the lightest shade, I've tried several concealers from there, I'll try the tester, grab the concealer, buy, and by the time I've walked out and happened to look at my hand, it's already a lot darker than my skin. If you go in superdrug, their concealers are so much nicer (for dry/sensitive skin, idk abt other skin types, only tried on mine!). They don't change colour after drying down, they don't cling to dry spots as easily (again, dry skin), they feel reallg smooth going on. However, they're not great on smile lines. They seem to separate at the wrinkle, so it makes it more obvious, but on the rest of the face, fine. Only tip for these is to use moisturiser beforehand- just makes it last longer.
The lip shade is beautiful
Shhhhh don’t let the next door neighbour know that you’re doing a lame voice
I like that you’re honest because I was considering buying this, but if this is the lightest shade it will definitely be too orange for me👍
I use catkin and there was no need to use powder. It takes a few min but the formula I got dries to matte and I LOVE it!
why are we whispering?
Your voice is so soothing and comfortable to hear! Thank you. 🤍
Is there... is there a reason for the whispering?
ASMR!
Blink twice if your being held hostage
You should definitely pat the applicator on the back of your hand or the black surface in the foundation to get a more even coverage
You need to tap the cushion on the tray to get some of the foundation off. When you press it into the foundation don’t press so hard. It picks up quite an amount of foundation. This stuff has been perfect for me and isn’t heavy because I tap and don’t use as much on the cushion.
Sorry can't hear you
"GIRL LOOK HOW ORANGE YOU LOOK" But for real, thank you for sharing the process. The look is beautiful despite the oxidation.
girlypops summoned all the professional makeup users 💀
I just bought this in this same shade because I knew it would oxidize a lot and would end up being a good match for me 😭😭
Wow, that oxidized like crazy! Korean girls often wear Tone Up Primer which makes them look very pink, so the oxidization brings them back to normal skin tone, but as a very pink girl who wears tone up primer anyway, I can't wear this cushion
L1
it oxidized because you applied too much of it. with cushion foundations you need to be more careful. you should have patted some off maybe but even at the beginning it seems that you pressed into the foundation too hard. you're supposed to tap lightly into it. after tapping the cushion lightly into the foundation, the cushion should look as if it almost did not catch any foundation , but in fact that's the perfect amount of foundation you'd need probably. if you feel that the cushion caught a little too much foundation you can always get some off. if you still need more coverage you can gradually build up the same way. :D
Little tip for this cushion is press lightly and use a thin layer/ less product
I think you can stop it from oxidizing by just using a regular primer and a little bit of setting spray before putting the makeup on!!!
Try the jung saem mool essential nuder cushion in fair-light! I feel like youve got a similar skin tone to me and that one matches me really well!
I saw that there's a more sheer foundation that looks way better than the original
It's basically a skin tint but looks the best out of the different options TIRTIR has
I think there's a medium coverage one too
İt looks kinda cakey for cussion
yes! in their defence i think i used a bit too much but still not the most skin-like of foundations! x
Thank you dear for the review ❤
My fear in buying it and it turns darker
That is orange 😮
You have such beautiful pieces especially this one .❤😊
Why are we whispering?! 😂 I think you look lovely!! Very nicely done!
_(why are we whispering?)_
your nail polish is so pretty 💚
I believe you’re supposed to use much less product, and not supposed to powder on top. It’s not meant to be used like foundation.
why are we whispering
You literally have the features of a Disney princess! ❤
Before it oxidized it was f*cking gorgeous!
Please try to blend the foundation in between the folds and seams on your nose/nostrils. There was unblended foundation there
Zyox having a thing for the narrator in this game makes sense if he played stanley parable 8x..
The whispering and that posh Tory accent ugh I just can't
✨oh well✨
Your skin looks sooooo good! Would love to see a skincare routine video from you!!!! ❤
Why do you whisper?
There's too much makeup on in the pad, so I would recommend pressing it out on like a cloth. Or, like some paper towel, you should be good.
what you do and is recommended by the company is after applying it to the cushion dab it on the plain inside lid to get more control and an even coating
it so flawless before oxidizing (T_T) the moment I saw it on half of your face Idecided I will buy it, but thanks God i watched video to the end...
It's a Japanese cushion
This isnt the lightest shade available!! The lightest shade is 13C, so much much lighter than this! I have 13N and it is absolutely incredible, the technology in this cushion formula is insane, highly recommend. The hardest thing is finding a shade match though, as it isn’t available in any stores in the Uk right now, I believe.
@@g.r.english6257 this was before 13c was released :)
What's with the fake low voice 😞
On camera it looked really good at the end tho
Oo thank you! Always worried about things turning orange on me
That went on beautifully
I noticed ur video isnt labelled as asmr and i think it should be this was very soothing
i suggest pat a little bit on the foundation. a little goes a long way. work on layers
I think the word needs a collab between this lovely woman and John Maclean, for some asmr seamlessness.
Thank you. I am pale and wanted to try this. You saved me ❤
The whispering was so unnecessary
You should try the lightest shade of amuse foundation
Yes… let’s platform a foundation with 3 shades… girl…
I'm fenty shade 370 and somehow 23N Sand in the tirtir cushion was my winter shade! I tried it on IRL first though-
I really love it, especially on my under eyes, but a little goes a long way. I honestly think she over applied. Also it does oxidize so go a little lighter then you'd normally.

Me encanta como se escucha este video, es muy relajante, casi como ASMR ^^
